They both looked terrified and jumpy as Hell. It made me nervous to watch. It's weird because they both (even Axl during his manic periods of yesteryear) used to be fairly calm and articulate in interviews. I think Slash isn't giving interviews for the same reason the rest of them are mostly silent- there is a gag order in place.  The incident with Slash seemed to happen (if it happened) right before the final deal was signed and Coachella was announced (December?) which makes sense- everything would have to have been in place with the three before that announcement. According to the "insiders" Izzy was in rehearsals after the announcement and there seemed to be genuine surprise when he said he wasn't involved in the April shows. I remember Eddie Money posting that there had been some sort of breakdown between Izzy and members of the band. My guess is he was signed up to do the April shows and then decided he wanted some sort of equity in GNR INC and Slash Duff and Axl said no so he pulled out of the shows. Art Tavana alluded to that on the podcast about his article as well.  Anyway, I doubt it was Slash more than the other two.  And all of this depends on if you believe "insiders" or not.  Speculation.  

I do think that Axl probably thought he was letting Izzy off the hook by being vague and not saying it was about money, but hoo boy that didn't seem to go over very well. Very little has been left to chance in this whole thing and Axl and Duff should have been better prepared to answer that very obvious question.

I've been reading this forum for years but one of the things that will always stick with me is Will's post where he was like, "Izzy is literally telling me it's him but I'm PARANOID AS FUCK." My words, not his of course but that whole thread is hilarious in hindsight. Tension was so high before the actual shows started happening and no one knew anything. It's one of the reasons I will always maintain that Izzy, even not being involved, has been the most exciting part of the reunion.

At the beginning of the Avocado incident, before avocados had even been mentioned, one of the reasons no one believed Izzy was behind the Twitter account is that he was apparently using Spanish punctuation found only on Spanish keyboards. That combined with one of his first posts being Yo Soy Axl Rose gave us Spanish Izzy or Spizzy.  

Aww, this has me remembering the Spanish Izzy debate. Almost one year now. 

Not the kind of update I look for on his Twitter but okay.

Izzy's had some social media growing pains, that's for sure. It's hard for a lot of people, let alone a 54 year old man who has never particiapted before. I wonder what actions he took to get his Twitter verified? He said that he was waiting for verificaton last winter! Managers and publicists can get things verified quickly but I don't think he has any of those. 

Using his exact username and profile pic is a step too far. It's obviously causing confusion and annoying him. For most things, though? It's unfortunate but the first rule of the internet is once it's out there it's out there.  It's all fair game- I just hope that lesson doesn't send him back to the desert.

Right now it's just a few random photos and videos of Izzy and a couple of his tweets.  It used to be a very good collection of all of his deleted tweets- posted for prosterity I guess. I thought that's what set him off more than anything.  It must be very annoying that they are using his handle, but the posts are pretty innocent.

I had a lot of fun at the show I went to but I kept my expectations in check. I knew I was seeing a giant corporate rock show and didn't expect a setlist change or for Slash and Axl to rub up against each other. I expected it to be cold with very little interaction and it was. It wasn't a time machine to 1987 but tell that to the 50 year old woman in a stone washed denim skirt next to me who just relentlessly  flashed Duff. Or the little kid (12, maybe?) behind me who lost her shit when Slash started playing SCOM. I still had a great time and am paying way too much to do it again next summer. By the way, i've been hard on him in this thread but I would reccomend to anyone that they go Duff side- I honestly think that between Duff and Slash Duff is easily the more charismatic performer of the two- lots of eye contact with the audience etc. Slash is a human that is mobile and stuff so you'll still get to see him just fine, but live Duff is where it's at.

I don't think Axl and Izzy are friends per se. Just guys who have known each other a long time. I think the closest Axl will get to a "friend" is Beta. Steven is too much of a child to have an adult friendship with and I have my doubts that Slash and Izzy ever really liked each other (profile pic notwithstanding). Even when they talk about each other nicely it seems kind of cold. But Izzy and Duff seemed to be in it for the long haul.

I think duff would have acknowledged izzy's twitter account at some point or commented on one of his songs or something. This to me is the saddest thing about the whole situation. They seemed like genuinely good friends.

And speaking of Angela, I came across some site a few weeks ago where there was a post from her, very pissed off cause she was sick of being associated with GnR or something and she talked about a tape Izzy gave to her with the original version of "Patience". Man, I'd kill to be able to hear that!

That would be amazing! I'll say this for Angela, she certainly doesn't seem adverse to publicity, at least not where Andy Mccoy is concerned but she has said very little about Izzy.  I remember her getting upset online a few years back over her supposed involvement in Erin's overdose, but she stays pretty quiet on the GNR front.

I also love the entirety of the CBGB's event. Love watching Izzy in it. Love that Slash seems to be throwing some sort of fit thoughout the whole damn thing.  That Steven doesn't know what to do with himself. That you can see Erin sitting morosely and Angela dancing around behind them.  I especially love the end when it was apparent that these were not media trained guys in any way. Evrything felt so raw.

Yes. She is a crazy skank with the worst taste in men I have ever heard of but I don't think she was lying about anything. If she was lying she would have made herself look better. And there would have been lawsuits, i think.  I remember the ONTD post about the book- it was hilarious because no one could nail down the timeline. No one seemed to know about NuGuns so they couldn't figure out if Roxanna was 50 years old or if she was a groupie when she was 7.  She was real hard on Izzy but slept with Matt, Steven and lost her shit over Dizzy Reed. Dizzy Reed.  Just in case all the other stuff wasn't gross enough.
