I don't think the length of the show has anything to do with it tbh.

I agree with the sentiment here, but in reality, fuck that shit. If he's gonna cruise through a show, then they should refund 2/3 of the ticket prices. For over $200 a ticket, he should be bringing the same intensity he brought last year. Simple as that.
Before anyone bitches me out, I've seen the guy several times since 2010. In 2012, I enjoyed the shows even though they were his weakest vocally. It really is harder to care about the clean voice when you're up front and having fun, but the most basic way I can explain it is by using the last 2014 shows as an example - he sang clean a lot but also brought out his trademark voice more at those final shows. When he hits those screams in There Was A Time or crushes Nightrain or whatever, it doesn't matter what's going on around you, it's a moment of 'holy shit, Axl Fucking Rose just owned that song'. That's what a whole 2010 show was like, and NA 2016 for the most part was the same feeling. Since the NA leg he's gone back to his comfort zone of 2011-12 vocals.
I actually think the current way he uses his heavy distortion is far more impressive than the way he used it 11-12. Like, the way he sounds on the Jungle intros these days even on his worst shows is far superior to the Jungle intros of the past.
The problem is we get used to great performances too quickly by following every show and therefore expect it constantly. I wouldn't be surprised if Axl or the band barely noticed his vocal fluctuations with how repetitive their job is.
Who cares, he's still got it and everyone who attends a show loves it. Plus if we get a live album or blu-ray there's been enough epic performances so far on this tour for him to sound great on that too.

Whatever Axl does to turn on his AC/DC voice isn't dangerous, otherwise he wouldn't have been so consistently awesome with it. It's just difficult and requires preparation and maintenance, neither of which is required to satisfy the majority of GN'R fans.
AC/DC fans on the other hand would've crucified him if he sang Thunderstruck with a clean falsetto.
Axl's put his time in, let him finish this tour without fucking killing himself everynight on every song. He still sounds great overall, I don't blame him for relying on falsetto for some songs if he can get away with it, the live mix makes it sound fuller than it is and he still goes all out when it's necessary.
Whatever official live release we get from NITL would've already been filmed and he sounded killer on the NA leg (which is most likely where the DVD was filmed) plus he'll probably be featured on an AC/DC live release which will blow people's minds.
He deserves to finish the tour comfortably and shouldn't be pounded with criticism on every single show thread for it. (Even if I've been guilty of that in the past.)

I'm sorry but how can that be your favorite nightrain from 01-14.... it's pretty bad honestly... most from 2012-2014 are better...
Because Buckethead's interpretations of the solos were legendary. Bumblefoot's were really boring and below standard for his capability.

I don't know but these have been brought to my attention a few months ago from something someone posted on here.
Any version that included these monsters would've beaten any pre-reunion lineup performance. Even one were Axl was sounding like a chainsaw.

Which ever one has the best Slash solo. Axl and everyone else are pretty consistent in every performance imo.

I am really hoping for a release of the detroit show. The rasp was real that night.
Only problem with Deroit is, is that his foot was still recovering so he didn't run around the stage. He was conscious of it and you can see him avoiding putting too much pressure on it. Axl running up and down the stage makes it way more exciting imo.

Similar to the 2004 greatest hits the Use Your Illusion compilation tracklist is complete bullshit. With that and how alot of people like to say that UYI II is better than the fist because of UYI I's "filler" (which I think is insane) I figured why not leave it to the actual fans to make out what they think is the better batch of the Illusion songs. Here's my list, share your opinion and tracklist. I chose the number of 15 based off the happy medium of Illusion 1 & 2's 16 and 14 respective song count.
1.Civil War
2. Dust N’ Bones
3. Live and Let Die
4.Don’t Cry
5.14 Years
6. Get in the Ring
7. Bad Obsession
8. Double Talkin’ Jive
9. So Fine
10. Knockin' on Heaven's Door
11. Pretty Tied Up
12. Dead Horse
13. Garden of Eden
14. You Could Be Mine
15. Estranged
Interestingly enough you've included more UYI II songs than UYI I contrary to your statement that I isn't as good as II.

Izzy Stradlin is more than one fifth of GN'R.

afd is the gold standard, should be on every "best all time" album list
Yeah. Even though they're not metal by any means there are some exceptions. The line between hard rock and metal is so blurred that when something's brilliant, it doesn't really matter if it's incorrectly labelled. That's why Zep IV and AFD and a few others keep showing up on metal lists. At the end of the day there's elements of metal in there, even though they're not metal bands or even metal albums.

I agree, but then again I probably like Indiana '91 the best
That looks the best because of the insane performance but I think just to listen to wouldn't be as impressive, he misses out too many lines. St. Louis one is still angry as fuck but more complete.

There were loads of solid shows in 2016 to choose from, but I doubt they were all filmed by the setup that bit budget concert movies like AC/DC's live at River Plate was filmed with, that would be a waste of money. There'll be one or two specific shows that would've been shot with a load of massive HD cameras setup everywhere and it's rumoured to be LA night 1.
But there will be pro shot footage of every show that they could use for a documentary or something to accompany the release.

I kind of hope that November 25th is the end of NITL so they have the entirety of 2018 free. Whether it's AC/DC and SMKC stuff or a new Guns album, after already seeing them on this tour I'd be more excited to see what's next rather than an extended run, even though if they did do another show near me I'd definitely go.

In a train to Hämeenlinna with a couple of friends rn, pissing myself out lf excitement. Hopefully they'll play a song or too with Mike, he's a great guy. Would also kinda prove that the boys (Axl, Slash and Duff) aren't just on autopilot.
I think the last show proved they're not, the shows have been getting really long lately, the last one was over 3hrs. So, I think it's safe to say they're having fun up there!

nothing beats the ritz
Ritz Nightrain is sloppy as fuck and not even in the top 10. The Ritz show itself as a whole is legendary and definitely well into the top 10 but the performance of Nightrain is less than stellar.

British Steel (I like it but I think Judas Priest have some way better albums) and Hellbilly Deluxe.
Interestingly enough I feel the exact same way ha. Vengeance and Painkiller surpass BS by a fair bit for me and I haven't listened to Hellbilly Deluxe in years, although I do occasionally crank some White Zombie.
I also think Dirt, Ride the Lightning and Vulgar Display are slightly better albums than the ones featured but I listen to them just as much anyway.

Throwing in Perfect Crime from St. Louis would be great too.

I don't know what he understands for metal but I love eight of those albums so I like his taste
Just out of curiosity, which are the two that you don't love?

It's really difficult to take you seriously @JustanUrchin You start off that gargantuan post talking about how the reunion came about (admittedly saying it's based on your "observations" (of what exactly?) But still, your reasoning seems plausible-ish.) But then it sort of warps into a kind of outrageously exaggerated and caricature breakdown of each member.
Then we get to your description of Slash and all becomes clear. It's pretty obvious that you're just a MASSIVE Slash fan-boy and are attempting to disguise your bias with faux legal jargon. And you almost succeed.
Unfortunately your weird, homo-erotic hatred of Axl gives you away repeatedly through that whacky 'all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' style essay.
You scare me.

Fuck me that Detroit Nightrain might be my new favourite live version. Ever. Axl is a fucking badass when he brings it.

In my opinion this is the best so far. He only really goes mickey towards the end but keeps his vocal consistent for pretty much the whole song. Wish he could get his voice back to at least this level.
Holy shit! Awesome, although Slash broke a string haha.

Speaking of Nightrain. Last night's one in Stockholm was excellent. Best one in a while, both Axl and Slash were really into it. Not quite as good as Houston but the best one in a while for sure.

No, i didnt wanna bother his time too much. I met him at a souvenirs shop. I heard a familiar voice and when i looked up i couldnt believe it was him. I started laughing and when he saw my reaction he started laughing aswell and said "hey, how's it going?" Outside the store i asked politely for a pic. That was the funniest encounter. Love that guy
Awesome man, Ricky's fucking hilarious.

Almost no difference whatsoever, I don't even think Axl leaving the stage during/between songs and having extended instrumental intros has anything to do with him needing a rest either. His stint with AC/DC has completely eradicated that entire train of thought imo. I mean, he didn't leave the stage once for 2 hours of none-stop screaming until Let There Be Rock, then came back and screamed some more.
Also, even doing 3 hour shows once every 2 or 3 days, it sounds like a lot to handle, but it's nothing compared to 4-6 hours of rehearsal everyday for 6 weeks or so before a tour. I'm not saying Axl rehearses before every leg to that extent but he definitely did for AC/DC and most likely did before Vegas and Coachella too.
