I'd love to hear Ain't It Fun live. Hopefully when they play Finland next show they bring out Michael Monroe and play it. That would be incredible.

This makes Rock in Rio '11 look and sound like The Ritz '88. Just painful. Also, what the fuck is 4tus doing during Madagascar? It's like he's gyrating his guitar as if it's a fallic representation of his dick.

Wow! Axl's rasp was really on point for that Nightrain. Sounded sharp as fuck.

I really like the Catcher In the Rye video with the alternative Chinese Democracy artwork of the rat or whatever the fuck it is.

I'd still love to hear more about that rumoured song that Axl and Eazy recorded together. I think it had Yellow in the title? I don't know, probably an Axl homage to Elton John or something, which gives a tiny bit of additional credibility I suppose.

Disagree with Civil War. That Farm Aid performance was terrible, whereas Paris '92 was beyond incredible.
Also, I'd go with Jungle from the VMA '88 performance. St. Louis version is viscous but Axl fucks up the third verse and Slash is awful.
Also, Sweet Child should definitely be taken from the Ritz '88. That's the best performance of all time of that song imo. (Of the versions I've seen anyway.)
Also the performance of Don't Cry from Tokyo '92 is too legendary to replace.

i was shocked when i listened to the original version of down on the farm. now those guys in UK subs play really bad, it sounds like the drummer is playing one song, the guitars are playing another and the singer is singing another one! god bless them for writing this song, GNR version is beyond awesome
EDIT: sorry the recording above is not the original, its a re-recording
the original is below -- it is not that bad
Those guys sound like they're allergic to metronomes.

No need. The guitar work on Chinese Democracy is excellent as is.

Wonder how long the show was total? And what has been the longest show since April last year?
Pretty sure this was the longest show of the entire tour so far (not counting Hannover due to the rain delay.) 30 songs would most likely bring them to the 3 hour mark or slightly over.

So, it's the exact same (amazing) setlist as before + dont cry/patience and everyone's suddenly amazed?
Plus Sorry. A 5 song encore is a pretty big deal, especially since it took the show to a total of 30 songs, I don't know, it's just cool seeing them do stuff like this, it gives the impression that these guys love what they do. They don't have to play that long at all, it's great that they do.

I think the difference is in the amount of production on UYI/TSI versus the first. Plus Axl was using effects on his voice, like on Coma.
CD, of course, is at a whole other level with processing and Pro Tools
I actually think Axl's vocals on the majority of Chinese Democracy tracks are relatively unprocessed. Sure there's a few too many layers of him on the title track and Shackler's but after that his vocal takes are pretty dry. Especially on the verses, I can only hear one recording which is occasionally panned across the mix.

Lies is Axl's best studio performance vocally imo. Specifically One in a Million. His vocals on that track are unrivalled.

The fact that they were poorer just upholds my theory because they weren't digitally processed and changed the sound less or at least differently. As for ACDC he just sings with more rasp there and that's why. But the ACDC rasp is not like his old rasp at all (thos he just doesn't have anymore) and I would personally hate to hear it in GNR songs because it just doesn't fit them at all... He's doing the right thing not singing like that.
Disagree 100%. If he sang You Could Be Mine the way he sings Shoot to Thrill this forum would collectively jizz.

Wow, with the size of that setlist they must've played until midnight if they started at 9ish.

What time are they on?

I always thought he said "yeah, it's so easy" but does that cool axl/joplin growling thing
You could be right about that actually, the lyrics on the album sleeve don't include that part so we'll never know for sure.

In Estranged Axl sings: "Cause I see the storm is getting closer"
In Madagascar Axl sings:"I won't be told anymore, that I've been brought down in this storm"

the most extreme concert i ever went to, was slipknot in 2009. walls of death, moshpits all throughout the concert.
somehow, without all of that, the GNR concert i saw saturday even surpassed that. god. this band is dangerous, the music is dangerous.
from the moment the band came on and did "it's so easy" all hell broke loose. i jumped up and down, fists in the air in a rage i never thought was in me. somehow, GNR manages to do that. "I see you standing there. you think you so cool. Why don't you just... FUCK OFF!!" Really, that's just the most awesome line EVER and everyone was shouting along that line. I gave them two fingers in stead of one, to show my respect.
it's just something in the music man. welcome to the jungle, mr brownstone, it didnt matter. it was danger every note, every scream. Hell, I felt badass just being a witness.
whenever Axl, duff or Slash went near us it was like whipping a tiger, and the crowd would get even more nuts.
There is danger in these songs, when played live. It absolutely does not matter one iota how old they are by this point. Axl was still jumping and running around and Slash was a beast just standing there. it was epic going berserk when slash was right in front of me and i jumped even higher.
for this small point in time, we all felt one with the band. the band fed off the audience and the audience fed off the band. the crowd sure didnt suck from where i stood. in between songs, i would scream "slaaaaaaaaash" and it would be followed by another audience member who shouted the same, then someone else shouted "Axllllllllllllll" and it was just epic.
i walked away from the concert thinking "the world needs more GNR".
things like Axl's voice, his weight, the setlist, the NUGNR hacks, all felt really fucking irrelevant and were totally overshadowed by the danger that started the moment Mcbob did his awesome introduction line. I didn't take a single picture or any of that (i only have this keychain i bought at the merch stand; which is enough for me). I jumped up and down till i couldnt fucking stand on my feet; my legs still hurting from the pain. what a great fucking experience. and thanks to the two germans babes in front of me for making the view even better. man, you should have seen those tits, wooohoooo
Reading this got me pumped! Best band in the world bar none! Rock N' Fucking Roll!

More touring and then an album followed by more touring. Possibly an Axl/DC album and tour thrown in the middle somewhere and most likely another Conspirators record and tour as well.

I really wanted to see him on his current tour. Massive fan, did you tell him you went to see GN'R? I'd love to know if he's a fan, I'll bet he is.
Gonna crank some Life on the Road now haha.
