  1. Axl seemed to be referring to his vocals and I think the melody in the high-pitched sream-y part fits the description. Then there's the Marco Beltrami orchestration. And, I don't know, in my mind the lyrics to Monsters are more fitting to Soul Monster than to Monstrocity.
  2. Axl seemed to refer to them as two separate tracks in 2008. And there's also the alleged CD2 track list (if we consider it legit) from January 2008 where they are also listed as two separate songs. That's why I think they were turned into one song after 2008. Regarding the orchestral piece that was used as intro at the concerts, maybe it was its own thing compiled from what Beltrami wrote for the two tracks. And then the two tracks were eventually combined as well?
  3. Axl never mentioned Mostrocity. This song title came from MSL's care bear/blackmail video. It's also in a screenshot of an alleged CD2 track list dating from January 2008. I think Monsters is most likely Soul Monster (which means that Me and My Elvis is another song).
  4. If I were to guess, I'd say that they started as two different tracks (and I believe that "Monsters" is most likely "Soul Monster") and by 2010 they were merged into one, two-part song.
  5. These were not the lyrics on the phone clip (they were completely inaudible). They were the lyrics as @evader"heard" them in his interpretation of the phone clip.
  6. No, he didn't. He said that it was originally called "Leave Me Alone" (same as in Marco Beltrami's interview from 2003), then "Elvis Presley and the Monster of Soul" and then "The Soul Monster". He didn't say "Me and My Elvis".
  7. I never understood most fans' confidence about Me and My Elvis = Soul Monster just because of "Elvis".
  8. That doesn't say anything in itself. It's probably just someone who combined the two leaked tracks. But they're most likely being released as one song regardless.
  9. In that "CD2" track list from 2008 though (if it's legit, that is) Soul Monster and Mostrocity appeared to be two different songs.
  10. He just lost that bet. Unless he gets away with it, because it seems that these are being released as one, two-part song.
  11. I like Monsters. Not so impressed by The General. I think it makes complete sense now that these/this is being released as B/R side to Perhaps. They're far removed from what casuals and the general public considers classic Guns N' Roses. Perhaps, on the other hand is much closer to UYI era GN'R, plus it's much catchier. It also looks like both The General and Monsters share the same theme in the lyrics - which seems to be really child abuse.
  12. It definitely looks like it's two songs combined into one. Otherwise the writing credits would have been registered separately on SESAC.
  13. It was pretty obvious that it was rubbish and trolling from the beginning. First because it was just a comment under a youtube video by a non-reputable GN'R "news" channel and secondly because it mentioned "record stores" having the vinyl whereas it's an online exclusive. But I guess many people are ready to fall for rumours like this, maybe because it's the kind of rumours they like to get worked up about.
  14. I don't even know why you felt the need to "apologize". There was nothing personal in the discussion by that point. Anyway, have a nice evening, too.
  15. Yes, English is indeed not my native language. But as poor as my English may be, I thought that I understood what "don't give them any ideas" means, considering also that I have seen it being said on here so many times and on so many occasions, although I didn't get the point of the joke. Anyway, I give up, lol. The thread is getting too crazy for me to handle.
  16. Come on now... The song has been officially registered with organizations that collect royalties on behalf of the people who have writing credits for it.
  17. Yes, I get what you mean. But again, would they need "me" to give them that idea? Plus, I don't think they would do that and they probably couldn't do it now even if they wanted to.
  18. I don't need to. They can come up with them themselves. In fact that's what they did with the Hard Skool physical releases: they put live tracks as b-sides on them.
  19. I'm sure that @Azifwekareis trolling and you all fell for it. I expect the rate of troll posts Vs. normal posts in this thread to gradually increase from about 30% that it is now to 80% in the next days.
  20. There are two shortcomings here, one that is self-evident and one that is likely. The self-evident one is that they should have informed people earlier and not on the very day they were expecting to receive their order. The likely one is that they planned poorly and didn't send it for pressing early enough so that the copies would be ready to be shipped out on the announced date. All the other stuff about the evil TB "hating" us etc. is just the usual irrational bs. They could have just never put it on there as a "b" side if they didn't intend to release it; they could have just put a live song or whatever instead.
  21. That I agree with. They definitely knew at least since the time the Italian site reported about the delay. The shouldn't have waited until the expected release date to inform people.
