  4. He didn't say it about rock music, but in relation to being in GN'R. And he said it at the time he was fronting AC/DC. Someone can be into different things at the same time.

  7. The show was dedicated to Layla Salazar, one of the 21 victims of a school mass shooting last year, whose favourite song was Sweet Child O' Mine: https://www.expressnews.com/news/texas/article/layla-salazar-obituary-18100303.php https://www.expressnews.com/projects/uvalde/victim-obituaries/ That was very nice of the band.
  8. I liked the shiny pants The all black outfit is good. But the new pants with the black vest... not good.
  9. They're basically promoting the (to be announced soon, I suppose) Vegas show and the remaining tour dates.
  10. This billboard ad company should know better and not make mistakes like that when it comes to this band and this fanbase...
  11. I think they just mean the single and they put "album" in the trailer by mistake. That's what it says in the post the trailer is from: https://pearlmedia.com/projects/lv-gateway-guns-n-roses/
  12. Las Vegas (it looks like there will be a show there in October): https://pearlmedia.com/projects/lv-gateway-guns-n-roses/

  16. Another recent interview: When talk turns to the atmosphere around the band around the 2008 release of Chinese Democracy, which emerged some 17 years on from the band's last original albums, 1991's Use Your Illusion I and II, Stinson tells Stocks that he looks on the period fondly, describing it as "a crazy, beautiful mess." "That Jimmy Iovine pulled that record out of Axl's hands at the fucking 11.30th hour is the only disappointing part of that," he adds. "I don't know if it would have changed anything about the public's view of it, the only thing it would have changed was Axl's view of it. He was this close to being able to sign off on that fucking thing, and they pulled it just before he was completely ready to be going 'I'm done with it', it was just a little too quick on that. That's unfortunate. But all things considered, we made a great record." https://www.loudersound.com/news/guns-n-roses-tommy-stinson-on-axl-rose-chinese-democracy-punk-rock The audio: https://shows.acast.com/9623c775-3a86-479b-9d41-2c7842bb362b/6509c63e9727390011b7d2f3
  17. I just saw that Sterling Studios list Perhaps among their mastering works (Ted Jensen is the engineer, who also did the UYI remaster and the mastering of Absurd, but not Hard Skool): https://sterling-sound.com/discography/perhaps/ However, Bob Ludwig is credited in the official credits: Interesting... Maybe the band didn't like the original mastering by Jensen and went to Ludwig?
  18. Absurd and Hard Skool were mastered at Sterling Studios (I don't remember the name of the engineer), probably with only the streaming platforms in mind. I suppose they took the criticism about the compression and loudness into consideration, so they went to Bob Ludwig for Perhaps (and most likely The General, as well).
  19. It's almost safe to assume that The General was mastered by Bob Ludwig as well. So it most likely had the same treatment as Perhaps regarding compression level, which is significantly less than Hard Skool (someone posted screenshots from Audacity a while back). It was mentioned by Marco Beltrami in 2003 (along Seven, Thyme and Leave Me Alone) with no further details.
  20. The last scream wasn't bad, but I liked that part more when he sang it in his low voice at the previous show. The main problem with the live performances is the way he sings the verses (although that was supposed to be the easiest part for him to sing). He insists on switching his voice to that weak mid range and it sounds like he's chocking. He always does it on the same lines, so it's by choice and not random. It's not a matter of rehearsal anymore, since he has already sung it quite a few times - apparently he has decided that this is how it should be sung. The chorus is all right.... Except for the backing track. It just doesn't sound right when it's heard in the background and especially while Axl doesn't sing over it.
