  1. Facts on Metallica's new album: 72 Seasons debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200, selling 146,000 copies in the first week with 134,000 coming from pure album sales; this marked the band's twelfth album to chart in the top 10.[48] The album debuted at number-one in 20 different countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom. Number One in 20 countries doesn't seem like much of a 'flop' to me......
  2. Oh sorry, I mean the re-works yeah. I have zero belief that they'll write anything new together again!
  3. I'd agree personally but in terms of them having an impact- putting an album out definitely works better. If they've got, say, 10 of these re-works, do them as an album, slowly introduce them to the set. I'm not sure that making an impact matters to them though I guess, based on the lack of promotion of the last two. I'd say it's likely they don't even play the 'new' songs at Glastonbury, based on the stage time they have.
  4. They absolutely need an album out of this don't they? Another one/two stand alone songs will have the same impact as HS/Absurd (i.e. not much) but if they did these, then put a full album of the re-worked stuff out, that would be a different story. Makes far more sense to me to do that than drip-feeding them.
  5. I'd wager we're a few gigs off hearing Perhaps- has anyone done the ol' Columbia routine on all the release stuff links? Beyond my capabilities, but people seem to know about links preparing to go live etc.
  6. Ah, if Axl isn't there it's probably unlikely it will get played today then.
  7. Brilliant! It's happening! Maybe not tonight, but it's happening!
  8. Wish they'd move away from 'band as skeletons in X location' for lithos. There were some amazing ones on the past that didn't feature any band members.
  9. Any photos of the merch stands for this tour come out?
  10. I think so, personally. Difficult one to say for sure though.
  11. Pretty much every big band has done politics. People are always fine with it, until they say something they don't personally agree with. Then they don't like it. Nothing new really- easy for people to ignore if they wish, but politics has inspired much amazing music, and hopefully will continue to do so.
  12. Yeah, Glastonbury released the set times last week on their website. Maybe a bit of overrun, but probably not by much given how late it finishes anyway. Not sure how Glastonbury manage the late finish actually as no other festivals can. I'd say it will be a set firmly focussed on the bigger songs only, with a possible guest appearance from Angus Young for 'Back In Black'. SATURDAY GUNS N' ROSES 21:30 - 23:45 LIZZO 19:30 - 20:30 LEWIS CAPALDI 17:35 - 18:35 AITCH 16:00 - 17:00 AMADOU & MARIAM 14:30 - 15:30 RAYE 13:15 - 14:00 RICK ASTLEY 12:00 - 12:45
  13. They have just over 2 hours stage time at Glastonbury, so, assuming they stick to that, the set is going to be cut down quite significantly.
  14. You know- I'm excited about this band again for the first time in ages and that's a great feeling. Just been reading all this shit about Rammstein, their sleazy (alleged) drugging of very young women, and it all seemed so sad and pathetic compared to the fun evening it's been following this setlist develop. It also made me think how far GNR have come on that side of things. It's impossible to imagine people like Duff and Slash being involved with any of that. We rag on the band a bit sometimes here, but it really only is because of how much of a shit we give. Yeah there was nothing new tonight, which is always frustrating....but changing it all up like they have done tonight is such a damn relief. It probably won't sell them any more tickets, as no-one outside of places like this board especially knows or cares that they're playing Pretty Tied Up or Down On The Farm, but that's the beauty of being a big fan. Now.......anyone got a cheap ticket going to go see them as I sure as hell can't afford their prices still!
  15. That joke has been sat there ready to go for years hasn't it?!
  16. Where did all those people vanish to who claimed Glastonbury wasn't a big deal, and that they'd never even heard of it?! Hahaha. Down On The Farm has been brought back specially for it too I'm sure.
  17. You're there right? Must be the first time people at home are loving it and someone there is saying it could be better!
  18. Fuck me, that crowd! They look SO uninterested. This set is wasted on them!
  19. Is SCOM (Sweet Child O' Mine for @WildStar) the first song of the encore?
  20. KOHD has to be on its way very soon I'd think.
  21. Could live without TIL really. I know a lot of people here like it though.....
  22. No LALD, KOHD or NR yet, right? Weird.....but welcome!
  23. I feel the same. Why the HELL couldn't they have been shaking it up like this the past 7 years?! Would have saved us a lot of pain!
