  1. The Arctic Monkeys highlights are playing on the stream that GNR will be on. They're just playing the highlights between sets.
  2. Elton John did a remixed version of Tiny Dancer with Britney last year, so it'd make sense
  3. Arctic Monkeys went on until after midnight, as did Macca last year, so GNR can absolutely push it somewhat.
  4. Beady Eye really had a lot going against them. They initially refused to play any Oasis songs live until well after people had stopped going to their shows, Liam's voice was possibly the worst it'd ever been, and the songs just were nowhere as good as those released by Noel. Nowadays Liam has gotten a huge audience by staging live shows that are as close in spirit as modern audiences can get to an Oasis show.
  5. Nah, I'd say they're more of a mixed bag. Their stuff up until 2013 was banger after banger. The last two albums have been a really drastic shift in style that's alienated a lot of fans.
  6. To be fair, he didn't really backtrack on anything there. When he announced the tour, he said he'd still do the occasional gig, but no more touring.
  7. Slight correction: Elton John still has tour dates outside of the UK after this, but this is the last UK show of his final tour. But yeah, Elton John is an absolutely legendary figure in British music.
  8. Not to mention that Glastonbury is very extensively televised on the BBC. The Pyramid Stage headliners will be on TV, plus they have livestreams of the five biggest stages this year. It's absolutely a yearly cultural event here.
  9. Not to mention the fact Glastonbury headliners get a massive TV audience since their sets get aired by the BBC
  10. I always cringe when Axl goes for the horrible sounding Donald Duck rasp on Better
  11. I am somewhat. Glastonbury's headlining sets always get a massive audience watching on TV since they're featured so prominently on the BBC. Axl/GNR runs the risk of basically becoming a punchline to UK audiences, especially since Axl burned a lot of goodwill with his appearances at UK festivals in the nuGNR years.
  12. Guns aren't playing the Legends slot this year, they're a regular headliner so they'll get a full festival headliner-length set. The Legends slot is traditionally always a shorter set in the late afternoon on the last day of the festival, although this year it's a double bill for the first time ever with Yusuf/Cat Stevens and Blondie playing a set each.
  13. I feel like "a bit generic" is a good description for most of Slash and Duff's post-GNR output, honestly.
  14. I really wish Axl would sing the choruses to Slither in his deep voice. The Mickey voice just doesn't sound good
  15. Yeah, Team Brazil's total lack of promotion for Absurd and Hard Skool is what killed them. Hard Skool got a half-arsed lyric video a month or so after release, which was about all the promotion it got. If either of the singles had actually been promoted properly, they could've had more success. A new Guns N Roses album would be pretty successful if it were promoted properly by actual professionals.
