  1. I don't listen to any of that shit. When I listen to GNR it's usually CD, UYI II, AFD or live bootlegs.
  2. I said it before, but I really think they should just open with SCOM so all the casuals and posers can go the fuck home right after and leave a GNR concert to actual fans. If they give me a 3-hour live concert for my money, they can play whatever the fuck they want - even though for some reason they never play my favorite song Breakdown. I miss Axl talking on stage though, for me it's part of a real GNR concert. I like when he tells a bit about what inspired a song or lyrics or some story from the road, sometimes it's silly and hilarious, sometimes it goes a bit deeper, I like that, makes it more human and personal. Bring back those Axl speeches so Duff can rest his back for a bit. Gimme a 20 minute drum solo so Axl can take a nap if it helps. Anything pushing 4 or even 5 hours is totally fine with me. It's not like I have any other plans for such a night.
  3. Too young to hold on, too old to just break free and run.
  4. Now that's what I'm talking about. Thanks. That crowd looks amazing!
  5. Watched AC/DC at River Plate again the other day and I was thinking is there anything remotely close from any other band/audience? What would be the one GNR show you would show to your kids to give them an idea of the magic? Not just a good performance but to capture a bit of the overall vibe? Mercury tribute? Ritz maybe?
  6. A new song would be nice, written, performed and recorded by the current lineup. Could even be a shit song, I would give them credit for at least trying. If they can do that, I'd be hopeful for a new album. If they can't...well, fuck off. Love this band to pieces but recent releases and developments have been kind of a bummer for me. A strain of copy and paste leftover singles with no heart and soul, sloppy production resulting in sound quality issues, manager accused of sexual harassment, Axl accused of rape...I've seen better from this band, much better. I have a feeling Axl was kind of saying goodbye with the Perhaps video and also with thanking the band on stage (when did he ever do that like this?), but I hope I'm wrong about that.
  7. W. Axl Rose. Period. Full stop. He's the boss, he runs the show.
  8. I assume he likes Waiting For Godot by Samuel Beckett.
  9. No. Looks like they can't even put a 3-chord rock song together anymore without copy and paste.
  10. Chinese has latency and compression glitches all over, barely noticeable but they are there, most prominently in Catcher and This I Love. The albums sounds good, but a perfect mix and master it is not.
  11. Put simple signals reaching maximum level in the mix where not set lower than absolute maximum digital level, resulting in undesired over saturation of frequencies and loss of audio information. The device basically runs out of 0's and 1's.
  12. Expectations and hype aside, I don't think it's a smart move to re-establish yourself as a legacy act for the better half of an entire decade and then release "new" singles which are essentially reworked and tinkered with leftovers from the most progressive era of more than 20 years ago. Chinese Democracy is a fucking great album to which imo Absurd, Hard Skool, Perhaps, The General or Monsters all sound like sonic dead ends created by AI.
  13. The more it would have deserved proper treatment with a decent presentation, production and mastering, maybe even a video or press release to bring more public attention to such a serious topic. As it is, the song just imploded before takeoff. If there is a message in the song I didn't hear it loud and clear as there is no moral or conclusion whatsoever going on, not in the lyrics and not in the composition. What pisses me off is that the song has so much potential. It could have been absolutely amazing. But it's not.
  14. I was a bit surprised to see the general feedback on their own FB page. It's not just people who want the AFD sound, many noticed the sound issues or just don't resonate with the song at all. Proper management would have turned comments off for a while and even posted an excuse for the sound issues.
  15. You guys wanna have some fun read some comments about The General on GNR's facebook page.
  16. He clearly doesn't give a fuck anymore. Either that or plain sabotage from the label or someone in the "team". You know, there's basement artists living on ramen and tap water doing better production than his coked up yes men selling him and his fans such piss as champagne. I can't believe he's actually paying money for such results and putting the Guns N' Roses name on it. If this disaster of a release would have happened in a professional team heads would be rolling.
  17. If we had a new song for every unnecessary political commentary Axl made on Twitter we'd be drowing in GNR albums by now. Dude needs a girlfriend badly.
  18. These have been around since the 90's.
  19. The band doesn't communicate at all. What are we supposed to do except make up our own minds with the little information we are being provided with?
  20. No matter how much I ignore the hype about that song and listen to it with an open mind I just can't bring myself to resonate with it on any level whatsoever. What's the point? Why do they keep releasing those 20+ year old songs? The band who originally created these songs does no longer exist. Neither does the band who created AFD and UYI. The band that does exist though doesn't do fuck all but tour and rehash of AFD, UYI and CD tunes plus outtakes from these but in seven fucking years of having both Axl and Slash in the band those motherfuckers couldn't get around to put three chords together to make a new song? Really? And what's it with the cover artwork anyway? Did their trial version of Photoshop 2.0 expire? Seriously what the fuck is wrong the production team? This band makes millions on tour but they have their cover artwork done with Windows '95 or what? If The General is the last we get to see/hear from GNR it's one hell of a mess to go out with.
  21. Great: Better, TWAT, Catcher, This I Love, Prostitute Good: OMG, The Blues/Street Of Dreams, If The World, Hard Skool OK: CD, Shacklers, Riad, Sorry, IRS, Madagascar, Perhaps Not for me: Scraped, Absurd, The General, Monsters
  22. Last thing GNR I spend money on that was not a concert ticket was the album Chinese Democracy. Everything after was either old wine in new bottles (box sets) or too little too late (CD leftovers). I'm not interested in single song releases or any of that trash merchandise. I'm into albums and concerts.
  23. Great guy, fantastic player. I guess he could write a book about his time in GNR and not even scratch the surface.
