  1. So my hopes to someday listen to a finished Me and my Elvis, even if it's reworked with Slash, have gone down the drain. So... i don't know if someone has asked this before but: What the hell was the 2006 intro then? We hear parts of it during both TG and Monsters right? Was the 2006 intro just a mashup of the TG and Soul Monster orchestrations, meant to be used just as that?
  2. Unfortunately i doubt that we are gonna hear Axl singing "Daddy don't" live on stage, i mean i do wish they play it, just for the sake of it, i guess. But if the debut was imminent, at this point we should've already gotten the several weeks of promising sound checks followed by absolutely nothing like we are already used to, until finally the song gets played live, but the vinyl is gonna be released on December, and there is still no sign that this is even going to be out on streaming, at least for now.
  3. Good point, in my case i was hoping it was the same because of how Sabbath may have influenced Axl and the vibes that the Elvis song gave me. But yeah, it turns out it was just pure forum bs lol. I still like to believe that maybe some of the old CD era lore told here on the forums, is mostly true, (the logical stuff, not stuff like the red panda and that kinda shit). Because it turned out that The General was indeed related to child abuse, no? And the odds of that were as good as any of the other unheard songs being the ones chosen to have that theme, iirc Axl never said which one he was referring to when he mentioned that
  4. Oh shit i knew i was off about something. Now, how in Axl's mind TG had anything to do with Estranged is what i don't get at all.
  5. This thing about the song names is fucking with my mind. And yes i have a lot of free time now. We've had this titles: Leave Me Alone, Soul Monster, Monstrocity(?), Elvis Presley and the Monster of Soul, Me & My Elvis, and now Monsters. It was believed that: Me & My Elvis = Elvis Presley and the Monster of Soul = Soul Monster. (And we know that the working title was Leave me Alone at an early point). Now it turns out that the song called "Elvis Presley and the Monster of Soul" which Axl confirmed to be Soul monster, is different than "Me and My Elvis" found on the storage leaks. Wtf are the odds of that. But whatever, now we know, that Soul Monster is a part of The General, or that it has been merged with The General or is the successor of it. But when did that happen? The General+Soul Monster = As epic as Estranged? For me they are up there but anyways, at least they are similar in length. Is there any chance that these two were combined before Bach said what he said? Otherwise why would he say it? (Yeah he is kind of a meme now because according to him "Sorry sounded like doom metal" but go to Youtube and listen to Sorry without vocals, so i personally don't think he is that stupid). I know there is a huge debate about wether the CD2 list is real or not, so i'm not gonna take "Monstrocity" into account. But what's the consensus now about Me&My Elvis? My bet is that someone mislabeled it on the disc that Zutaut kept for him...shame, i loved that name for that song even though we know nothing about the lyrics lol. Wait but this predates Beltrami's work... so maybe Me and My Elvis evolved into Leave me Alone but then Axl decided to use the old name back but adding "Soul". So finally, "Monsters" could have already existed at the same time as the rest of the Village demos, but as a rough idea, without the orchestration, and without vocals, and some dumbass mislabeled the completely unrelated instrumental we have on the village tapes as this. Am i forgetting any important facts? It basically doesn't matter anymore but this kind of speculation is worth a solid 50% of being a fan of this band lol
  6. I agree with the majority here: Seven I like to think that Seven is a glorified, completed and extended version of Circus Maximus, with the addition of the orchestration. I would love to hear that. It was Beltrami's favorite right? And also how Brain described it, holy shit! If Monsters is Soul Monster, then yeah Seven is the new holy grail
  7. On the Beatles' original White album there is a hidden unlisted song between Cry Baby Cry and Revolution 9 known as Can you take my back... it doesn't have anything to do with the original structure of Cry Baby Cry, its just there as part of the track even tho is a different song, i'm sure some of you are familiar with that. So... That's probably how these are gonna be packed together i guess? You play The General and then Monsters starts playing right after it? As a non listed, non independently credited track? Maybe the actual vinyl lists them as a one song called "The General and Monsters" and we are gonna have a weird silent moment between the two. Ok, but then why are they not calling it like that on their official media?? Im not sure about how these are gonna be coherently glued together. Maybe what we have are just demos?
  8. One thing before i post my main question about the name "Monsters" hoping that someone can clarify that. Man... This lives up to the hype for me, i never cared too much about this epic dark orchestral piece everybody was talking about because i was obsessed with hearing the village songs w/vocals, but The General, man, this shit is as epic as it was described. If it ends up being properly connected with Monsters and they have a nice transition then it is indeed the sequel for Coma or Estranged, it hits different, but it's just as epic given the background. So i understand why they wanted to make it a vinyl exclusive, this was absolutely fan service. They at least had the intention of putting out this song just for us. It's way too personal and huge to be uploaded to Youtube, only to have it trashed by a couple thousand assholes complaining that it doesn't sound like Paradise City and that they clearly need Izzy Stradlin back... NOPE, FUCK THE CASUALS. They don't even know how much us real ones have waited for this one, (i say that and i'm not even 30, there's probably people here that waited since i was a kid lol). That said, now i feel bad that yet another one of Axl's CD era masterpieces has just leaked in bad quality, again. The tradition never ends huh? i just watched the Clasico game between Barcelona and Real Madrid, The Stones were there, Barcelona has a deal w/ Spotify and they were promoting the last Stones album on their jerseys and all over the screens. It was cool, and that's just a normal marketing move, for a regular release, by a legendary band, and that reminded me about the fucking circus we are all used to in here. It's maddening how they struggle to almost no end to put out just one fucking song at a time. Why can't GNR be just a regular legend act like the other ones. I feel bad for Axl, but he totally deserves this for putting a band of this caliber in such incompetent hands, and allowing shit like this to happen all the time. This time we actually deserved to hear it because people paid money for it. Anyways congrats to the big man on another epic, he did it once again.
  9. I'm a little disappointed now that apparently Soul Monster was just a part of The General. I never had a doubt about the Elvis instrumental being the same as Soul Monster. And i always thought that people that said that it was pure speculation were full of shit. Mainly because of the "Our most Sabbath moment yet" quote. Axl mentioned once that he got into Black Sabbath because of Technical Ecstasy, and that album is not as heavy or dark as previous work by Sabbath, and you even have the organ in some tracks. So the Elvis instrumental kind of matches with those 2 clues. At least it did for me but i've never posted about it. But all of that was just my own theory anyway. It's very hard to argue now against Monsters being Soul Monster now, the words soul and monster are mentioned during the song, it has the mean bridge, and yeah you can still say it's similar to Black Sabbath. I still believe that the Elvis instrumental had the potential of an epic or at least a great song. I hope he recorded vocals for it.
  10. Are we talking about a video with 6700 views? Not asking for links just want to know.
  11. I like The General better. I know Monsters sounds "more GNR" but i love how The General it's so overly dramatic and obscure, i'm biased because i like heavier stuff, when it comes to the classics, i would take good old Death (the band) over the Stones or Floyd without question. I don't care. I don't know if this happens to anyone else but since i've initially heard them as separate songs, now i can't piece them together even though they clearly come from the same idea lol. I guess it's because i can't hear a proper seamless transition on the 9+ min Youtube version And... we can finally clearly hear Fortus on one of the new songs! (4:00 onwards on Monsters) if you have any doubts listen to that outro and then listen to one of his live solos on KOHD, that personally settles it for me, Buckethead is out there buried on Absurd and HardSkool. Now this, this is Fortus, he is an active member of the band and logically, this is how he should be featured, doing his own thing while being clearly audible, not replicating 23 year old killswitch licks and lightning-fast tapping phrases note by note, and then have all that work mostly hidden on the final versions, that never made any sense imo. I'm confident that this is him at least on Monsters, and he does a very good job along Slash of course.
  12. Hahaha what a fucking day right? It had to happen. I hoped for it, it seemed impossible. But GNR diehards without leaks are exactly the same as fish without water. Big thanks to the hero at GnrEvo. I fucking loved both songs! downloaded them quick and then went upstairs to the roof of the building i was at, and it rained while i first heard them. Fucking magical...
  13. Now imagine anyone mocking other people for saying: "Fuck this band". I remember during the Perhaps fiasco someone said something like this: "Trusting GNR is like trusting an alcoholic that promises you they are gonna change, just to come home wasted the next morning" That's the greatest GNR related quote of all time. This song being about to be released instead of Atlas for no reason was just too good to be true... So yeah.. fuck this organization and fuck this band. And i really hope someday we get a leak the same size of the Village one. Some hero or heroes finessing the songs out of the hands of the red headed mf is the only way we are ever gonna properly hear more music from this band without having to go trough this shitshow every few or several years again and again.
  14. Well done GNR, now every single hardcore fan that doesn't own a record player is gonna pirate the hell out of this. 👍
  15. Out of the US right now, so i kind of don’t have the choice to receive it and just play it on a record player
  16. I’m gonna fucking freak out on a couple of days when people on this thread starts dropping their reviews without saying where did they hear the mfing song
  17. Yeah i was thinking the same, but if it's not The General we could be left wondering about it forever. I loved that riff!
  18. Are we hoping for a digital release on friday? What if we do the usual and wait for the NZ timezone to hit friday just for no surprise to come out? (like always)
  19. I'm 0% worried about The General being something we've already heard, and i'm 10000% confident that it's not S.O.G or a recycled version of S.O.G. What i'm worried about is how am i even gonna listen to it without spoilers. Because when it comes out, if there's gonna be any clue on the open internet about where to listen to the song, it's gonna be on this board, but im gonna have to read "spoilers" about it, lol, i would've loved to have that WTF moment when realizing that Robin was still on Perhaps, but i already knew it. Damn.
  20. I know Chinese made it to the actual top 100, not the rock one, the main one, so i’d say Chinese
  21. Absolutely, actually i'm leaning to that rumor becoming true, but it's so accepted on this board that if you don't believe it's going to be on streaming you might as well wear a tinfoil or a maga hat that i don't know what to think anymore wanna i do wanna know is why would that site claim this with that much emphasis
  22. That Italian rock site sounds so entitled lol get the fuck outta here Why the hell do they keep saying the same crap about the digital release?
  23. I don’t care for a live version of The General, it’s gonna be weird seeing how nobody is cheering for what it actually is the most hyped unreleased track in the history of this band, and then i would just imagine an ok instrumentation with Slash’s weak (gain wise) tone and the usual awful vocals except for the screams, and to top all of that the next day we get those articles of “GnR debuts new song live” with a misleading 2019 fat Axl thumbnail pic. Btw they haven’t soundchecked it, right? We know how it is, they do at least 1-2 months of soundcheck before the actual debut
  24. So what’s the deal now with the -no digital release, ever- thing??? Are we even sure it’s gonna be up on streaming by the 27th? I’m not trolling lol, i was out of the loop for some time
