  1. Both points are exactly my thoughts on all this. Axl probably should get his mic closer when he sings in his head voice to compensate for the lack of volume. Either this or learn how to sing from his mixed/chest voice in a lower volume. Not sure if it's all his fault tho. There were some parts that the overall sound mix wasn't so good, which is very common for a TV broadcast. It would be nice, boy. Here it is the image:
  2. A bit too much drooling haha. He always does that. Comes with the age I guess That was Pele with his 1999 lighter.
  3. Awesome show. Very cool to see positive reaction too, for a change. Good night guys. That was fun
  4. Here's hope for a shortened version of KOHD like they did with Rocket Queen
  5. I understand the skepticism. But let's get some more context. We had Slash this week in a studio in Oslo: Notice how Hartung said "can't say too much about it". Why would he say that if it's just for some live mix/broadcast mix? Let's add some other facts: - Perhaps and The General on the setlist; - Perhaps being rehearsed; - The "new mixes" wording instead of a "new live mix" ; - "The band wanted a nice studio with a variety of speakers and headphones to listen to new mixes". What would require a new mix in a studio environment that should be also heard on speakers AND headphones? - The broadcast mix is probably handled by the BBC crew, GNR would have no input on that. - A new live mix would need to be heard in the live environment, not in a studio. The acoustics and the gig speakers need a totally different mix from regular stereo speakers/headphones. At the same time, if they are still checking out those new mixes, I would think they won't release anything this week.
  6. I do. I'm still interested in listening to those songs in a more polished form, even if it's from an eventual new leak with CD-era members. I don't care if it's old, it's new to me. Disagree. Not sure where you heard that CD2 would be "more epic". And regarding being "too industrial", that doesn't mean anything. Silkworms/Absurd is all the proof you need.
  7. From what Tommy Stinson said, there are songs from the post-Illusions sessions with Slash and Duff, and maybe those were not in the Village Sessions (just as This I Love wasn't there too). Also, Axl mentioned Quick Song in the 2008 chats, so I tend to believe that it got through more work after the Village. I would consider State of Grace as more than scratch track too, considering that it's from the pre-Bucket batch. I mean, the 1999 tracks that Bucket worked on all had pretty significant changes, such as IRS, TWAT or even Prostitute. Pure speculation based on a 2004 picture with Axl and Caram outside a studio, I believe that a lot of work was done back then, including the final takes for songs like Better - the earliest demos seems like from 2005. I think Axl came out of the 2002 tour fiasco with something to prove, and after Bucket left in 2004, he felt like he could work (and change) a bit more on stuff like Shacklers and Scraped with Caram in Pro Tools.
  8. Awesome, as always. Great vocals. And the new guitarist def has chops.
  9. Great stuff. I'm getting some Lynyrd vibe, not sure if its intentional. Sounds great.
  10. They never rehearsed Perhaps again? Maybe they are saving the two singles for the NA leg?
  11. Studio owner/engineer/producer, originally from LA but currently living in Oslo, Norway. He has been working with artists ranging from popband a-ha to black metal band Satyricon via Dweezil Zappa. Source: https://www.discogs.com/artist/525277-Mike-Hartung Probably just some Slash project.
  12. It does sound better, but I thought it already sounded good last year.
  13. I loved the song when I was at the show. And I actually liked this Copenhell performance in particular.
  14. But that's just one way of see it. Sure the songs are not based on traditional guitar riffs (even tho you still have it with Better, Shacklers, Riad, Scraped, IRS), but the other songs are pretty much showcases of great guitar solos. If you consider Chinese as a natural follow up of the Illusions, but condensed in a single album, it makes sense.
