Spoon87
Rest in Peace to John Lennon, who passed away today 30 years ago.The only musician who ever had the potential to change the world. To me, as cliché as it may sound, Imagine is the best song ever written. It just has the best lyrics ever. But we shouldn't forget his other countless classics!Like this one: ...and don't forget, all you need is love! Street_Of_Dreams
I never listen to Nu Gnr anymore, but on this day for the past three years I make an exception and listen to Catcher in The Rye. After that, I spend the rest of the day listening to The BeatlesR.I.P. to the greatest songwriter of all time: ( Edited December 8, 2010 by Street_Of_Dreams
axlskAmpf
Lennon died because he spoke to truth....the government didn't like it.RIP John...the world misses you.I agree on second line, the world misses John and always will. Chapman was not hired by the government. John died because a psychopath thought he was a phony and he wanted to make a name for himself by killing John. He went from being a huge Lennon fan to seeing a movie that showed John had money, what a shocker! He read from Catcher In The Rye in his defense in court, and thought he was Holden himself. But many also think we never landed on the moon and the Government crashed planes into the WTC and Pentagon. Also unlike wikileaks, something the Gov. actually doesn't like, all John said was be peaceful and love each other...basically. I saw the show you're referring to though with this nonsense and anytime something big happens there's always going to be the fringe of conspirators that try and make a case. My advice, stay away from the fringe, you'll just be frayed in the end. RIP John. I remember the day well and it's still just as disheartening 30 years later. dalsh327
And just like 30 years ago, everyone overlooked Darby Crash of The Germs... myself included. Thought the Nirvana fans would've caught that one.

liquidmetal
Just give peace a chance. RIP, John. For those who dont know. This is the song that got John Lennon murdered. So sad. What a genius, Plastic Ono Band is just as good as any beatles album.Mind Games and imagine are both classics, some great tunes on his other albums too, that are criminally overlooked. So sad. What a genius, Plastic Ono Band is just as good as any beatles album.Mind Games and imagine are both classics, some great tunes on his other albums too, that are criminally overlooked. It wasn't a song, but an article. It had to do with Lennon living a posh life, yet calling himself a "working class hero". What's interesting is Chapman is kept at Attica. Lennon had done a song called "Attica State" in the early 70s .
