Snake Eyes
Best.. The Midnight Organ Fight - Frightened Rabbit.Worst.. Empire - Kasabian is what I'll say before I give it some thought. It's not a bad album, it's got some classic tunes (empire, stuntman, the doberman), but in comparison to the debut and west ryder it's nothing. dalsh327
Someone listed a bunch of sophomore slumps. http://www.bullz-eye.com/music/features/2007/sophomore_slumps.htmBut Weezer's "Pinkerton" is an interesting case where the sophomore slump turned into a cult classic. Or Beastie Boys "Paul's Boutique" (and I know "Polly Wog Stew" is their "first" but doesn't really count...)

Jumpin' Jack Flash
Pink Floyd - Saucerful Of SecretsPLEASE DON'T HURT ME! I'm actually a huge Floyd fan, but for some reason this is their only album I never really managed to get into as a whole. I actually hear this one quite a bit and have never understood why First off, you have a fantastic opener and an even better closer. Then you have some of Wright's best work (Remember a Day) plus Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun. All classic Floyd. Sure the title track is a bit on the weird (and long) side, but aside from that...there's not much to complain about. bacardimayne
With the Beatles is incredible and easily the best of all the Pre-Rubber Soul albums.I wouldn't say the best, but it's definitely the most underrated.

Also this album is not even relevant in my opinion because Piper at the Gates of Dawn is not exactly stellar either. It's ok, just not great. misch
Best: Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory?Worst: The Stone Roses - Second ComingFucking heresy!!!!!! Second Coming is an amazing album! Granted it's fuck all like their first album but there're some amazing tracks on there!Yeah, I actually like Second Coming, too. Ten Story Love Song and Tears are almost as good as the best songs on the debut, but, as you said, compared to the first record (which is definitely one of the best albums ever recordered) it's just weak and disappointing. Shuffle
Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit - Been ListeningThis guy makes me feel like there is hope for modern folk music. I found Been Listening to be quite disappointing actually. Don't get me wrong, it's good but it's not nearly as good as A Larum or what I had hoped for. Laura Marling's I Speak Because I Can was a lot better.concerning pre-Rubber Soul Beatles: A Hard Day's Night is my favourite Beatles album overall, but With The Beatles is underrated, but definitely not the best pre-Rubber Soul album. Still a 8/10 record at worst.
