Greatest Hits tops the 5 million mark

It singles only (+Sympathy), correct? Even so at the very least Nightrain, Nice boys and Used to love her are pretty well known songs that could have been in there and made the compilation better.

Sympathy was a single.

And how did that single do? Sure as hell wasn't a "Greatest Hit".

That cover nothin' short of an abomination...

Tobias? he gave it nice try anyway...

It saved the track since the original lead was not up to par.

It saved nothing. Tobias' guitar is not up to par. Never has been.

All he did was try to copy the other one, badly.

Good to see GN'R G-Hits doing well. I always thought they could have come up with something more impressive for a cover, and the silver / grey looks somewhat bland, for a Hard Rock cover.

“Greatest Hits” didn’t have the support of Guns N’ Roses – there really wouldn’t have been much thought other than getting songs out there to compensate for the prolongment of “Chinese Democracy”.

Typical..

What was once called The Most Dangerous Band in the World, gets the usual half-assed treatment. Did they even bother to contact the 'classic' members ?

..maybe they did, and no one responded. There's always a sense that communication, atleast amongst GN'R past and present is low. That's probably goes some way to explaining the fucked Chinese Democracy booklet, and the Activision vs Axl case

They did call them to promote it, but the band refused. Then Slash, Axl and Duff attempted to block the release.

If Axl owns the name, why did they bother to call Slash and Duff ?

If Axl owns the name, why couldn't he block the release ?

/come to think of it, why didn't they call Addler and Izzy, if they bothered to call Axl, Slash and Duff ?

Guns are under contract and owe them albums, so there was no way to stop it. Maybe they did call Adler and Izzy also, maybe they didn't give a fuck about it. All I know is that Slash, Duff and Axl did everything they could to block it.

god imagine how many more copies that record could have sold if axl had the good furtune to have hooked dj ashba, bbf, fortus, pitman, stinson, dizzy and frank earlier in their careers. these tracks would be LEGENDARY.

Ya, they would've had #1 albums, hit singles, stadium tours, legendary shows, all the stuff they missed out on...
