The Sandman
http://themusic.com.au/news/all/2013/03/07/motley-cr%C3%BCe-to-split-after-one-more-album-and-tour/ Motley Crüe To Split After One More Album & Tour 7 March, 2013A backstage interview with Nikki Sixx, before their second Etihad show with KISS last night, saw the bassist spill his guts to Bryget Chrisfield about Mötley Crüe’s plans to go out on a high.“I wanna finish our movie [adaptation of Mötley Crüe’s New York Times bestselling collaborative autobiography The Dirt: Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band] and put out a new album,” he revealed before adding they will also release a soundtrack to the movie and then embark on “a farewell tour”. “We’ll be back in Australia and, ah, that’ll be it,” he said. “I can honourably say, ‘We did it our way and we’re never coming back’.”Sixx accentuated that this split would see the band done for good, he has no interest in resurrecting its corpse down the track.“It’s important that when you do a farewell tour that people understand that when you put a bullet in the back of the horse’s head, and it goes down, it’s not a plastic bullet it’s a fucking shotgun blast. You know, blow its fucking brains out, it’s never coming back. It has to [be that way],” he stressed. “It’s the only way I can look at myself in the mirror and do a farewell tour. That’s it. So when we take our final bow, it’s IT. I will cry. I cry thinking about it.”Mötley Crüe have been raising musical hell for more than three decades and Sixx admits, “I love this band. I fucking spent my life doing this band. I’ve been doing this band longer than I’ve been doing anything else. And I’ve been in this band longer than I’ve known any woman, longer than I’ve known my children – only my family, and I have a closer relationship with my band than I have with my family, and a rockier relationship with my band than I’ve had with anybody in my family as well."So it’s very emotional and I just think it’s important that we finish what we started and then, you know, it will be whatever it will be. It could be beautiful. It could be a beautiful ending! When you go and see a great movie – I’ll leave you with this: when you go and see a great fucking movie and it ends and you go, ‘Fuck!’ like, you walk out and you go, ‘That was amazing! That blew my mind!’ It’s not like, ‘That blew my mind and, um, maybe there’ll be a sequel to it’.”After various line-up changes and years of turmoil, the original Mötley Crüe line-up re-formed, announcing the Carnival Of Sins reunion tour in December 2004. Since then there’s been a new album, their ninth, entitled Saints Of Los Angeles (2008) and relentless touring including appearances at their own Crüe Fest music festivals, a three-week residency at Hard Rock venue The Joint in Las Vegas and their ongoing Monster co-headline tour with KISS. izzygirl
I don't dislike Motley Crue but, well, I think it's time to split. Vince sounds awful. Great drummer though.
Randy Lahey
Cool. Maybe Axl can pick up Tommy Lee after they split.
Gordon Comstock
I dunno, I honestly don't think they'll ever finish their movie, so I'm not waiting for that, and didn't Vince (who's kind of like Ron in that he won't bullshit people, he's a little out of the loop but he's blunt) say they won't do another album, but maybe an EP or something?I'll probably catch the farewell tour, because hopefully the stage show will be sick, but Vince does not give a fuck. He puts no effort into singing live. (Yup, I just said that, on a GNR board). His "warm-up" (as seen on the CF2 DVD) is literally walking into his room, screaming, and walking on stage. Tommy is one of the biggest douchebags out there, check out his twitter for about 2 minutes and you'll hate the guy, he has no respect for the fans, who apparently did nothing for him and he'd be this big celeb without them.I used to be a Crue fan, but they should've hung it up a couple years ago. CharlieSheen
After Motley have said their last goodbyes..... This is just me guessing but i'll say that Nikki will probably focus on SIXX: AM, his photography radio show & family full time.. Tommy Lee will go back to his Djing shtick, Vince will probably go the solo route, and who knows what Mick Mars will do,
jman2000
My cousin saw the Crue this last summer and said they were great. It really sucks that they are splitting up, I never got a chance to see them.Just checked... they're gonna be hitting up a rock festival that's by me... I should really go since it'll be my last chance.

I've never heard of this. I was at the Toronto gig where they filmed the CF1 DVD, and they royally fucked up the release compared to the gig. Dunno why I even specified which CrueFest it was, I guess because I saw 1 & 2 so I always seperate them...I didn't like the coloring they did to the DVD, but what else was fucked up? They didn't overdub anything, there was a fan-shot bootleg of the show floating around before the DVD came out and it was pretty well the same, although I haven't watched that DVD in ages... Plus, there's like no crowd noise at all, it's awkward.I wish there was a Crue Fest 2 DVD...even tough the band sounded the same as always, the show itself was so much better...maybe Motley's best! James Bond
Fair enough. I'll probably catch them if they do a farewell tour. I'm not a die hard fan but I enjoyed their set enough when I saw them with KISS that I'd be happy to go see them one last time.

GNR123GNR456
Mostly these 4 still don't like each other that much for whatever reason's. Vince is a douche who can hardly sing anymore. People bash Axl Rose for sounding bad?, At least he sound's like he's trying. Vince goes out there wailing through the songs like he doesn't give a damn. Hell, he hardly sings half the lyrics. He'll probably stick to cover albums because lord knows he can't even write his own lyrics.Nikki's got his own stuff with Sixx AM and whatever else he's going. Tommy could easily do nothing and Mick is Mick. Judging by their most recent single "Sex," they don't seem to have anything left in the tank musically.Sure, I'll be sure to go see them if they come around my area on their farewell tour. They put on a great show. But, I'm not shocked by this news.
