Bruce's voice is shot on that album/video. Edited January 19, 2014 by moreblack 1 Quote

Bruce's voice is shot on that album/video.Same goes for Maiden England. I love the energy on those releases (And the setlist on Maiden England), but Bruce sounds dreadful on both. And it wasn't like they recorded off-nights for the live albums; the only 80's tour I really think Bruce sounded great on is Beast On The Road. Next best he sounded was the Somewhere In Time tour IMO, but that still doesn't hold a candle to his voice nowadays. Quote
Tater Totts Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Oh I agree they're much better now but there is something about the raw energy of that period I would like to have seen firsthand. 1 Quote

Tater Totts Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Not really surprising that in the late 80s and early 90s material Bruce started using a much more raw singing style. Quote

Nicko always says he's the reason they have their 3-days rule, but I think Bruce benefits from it equally. I've got no problems with them spacing their gigs out more if it keeps them in check. Plus, it's gives me time to do sightseeing while I'm on tour Quote
wfuckinga Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Will they ever change the name of the tour? Quote
Tater Totts Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 What are you on about? All the tours have different names, just that some of them tend to be quite long. Quote
Powerage5 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 The Maiden England tour is gonna end up being 2 years and 2 weeks, with two 7-8 month breaks between legs. 102 gigs in total, that's not an unreasonably long tour by any means. Quote
moreblack Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 And given Rod's habit of having the band's time planned years in advance, they probably already have the studio time booked. 1 Quote
Sixes Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 inspired by the black sabbath lists...and since i'm a sucker for lists...and since this is an iron maiden thread....might as well list the maiden studio albums, best to worstseventh son of a seventh sonpiece of mindiron maidenpowerslavenumber of the beastkillersa matter of life and deathbrave new worldsomewhere in timedance of deaththe final frontierfear of the darkno prayer for the dyingthe x factorvirtual ix Quote
Powerage5 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 My list is always changing depending on what mood I'm in. Right now it's probably something like this:Somewhere In TimeSeventh Son Of A Seventh SonThe Final FrontierKillersBrave New WorldPiece Of MindIron MaidenA Mater Of Life And DeathPowerslaveDance Of DeathNumber Of The BeastNo Prayer For The DyingFear Of The DarkThe X FactorVirtual XIHonestly, on any given day I could call any Bruce or Paul album my favorite. I love those 13 albums inside and out (NPFTD and FOTD maybe not as much, but I still think they're great for the most part). The X Factor I can usually tolerate, though I don't usually go out of my way to listen to it. Virtual XI is truly one of the worst albums I've ever heard other than a couple tracks - I don't remember the last time I listened to it front to back. And just for good measure, my list of Maiden's live albums (This is a little more concrete than the studio albums):En Vivo!Flight 666Live After DeathBeast Over HammersmithMaiden EnglandRock In RioDeath On The RoadLive At DoningtonA Real Live OneA Real Dead One 1 Quote
Sixes Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 i gotta think about the live albums....but the real live and dead ones are definitely last...the sound quality sucks 1 Quote

Zeppelin Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I know Somewhere In Time and Seventh Son would be at the top of my list. Those two are my concrete numbers one and two as far as Maiden goes. I'd have to think hard about the rest though. Quote

moreblack Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Worst? probably The Apparition or Como Estais Amigos. Quote
Powerage5 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 The Apparition is dreadful. I think AATG could've been good if it wasn't so damn repetitive. Quote
Tater Totts Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Yeah really didn't need 8 minutes out of 13 consisting of a repeated chorus. I'm actually a fan of Como Estais Amigos, I hate Virtual XI as an album but I actually have a soft spot for many of the songs. Quote
