jmapelian
Coverfoot's CD solos are awful. The Antiquiet versions are far superior. The worst solo recorded would be a tie between ballad of death and mi amor. You're judging the person rather than the music if slash had played either if those you'd love them!BOD is a GREAT great solo I love that peace. If Slash played, it might be great. You never know.

Rovim
Come on, I fuckin' hate DJ's shit, but Ballad Of Death is not bad. It's melodic, it has direction, and even if the phrasing is stiff stiff stiff, the piece is cool. The "chorus" especially. It's the only thing DJ came up with which I consider decent, but like...just my opinion.
BreakDown2014
I like Ballad of Death. Mi amor and La bella vita are very enjoyable too, I actually like them more than The Godfather thing.

The only GNR member past or present who's done instrumental work I enjoy is Bucket.
EvH
The only thing really bad about BoD is DJ's horrendous tone.

bacardimayne
DJ's versions of Patience and TILOn record, idk. Too many UYI songs I haven't listened to in 5 years to say. Like, I have absolutely no idea how the Right Next Door to Hell solo sounds, for example. Of the ones I know, probably IRS just because it's a chopped up mess. Bobbo
The problem with Bumble's contributions on CD were that they sounded like last minute afterthoughts. Cause they were. Edited October 5, 2014 by Bobbo

Strange Broue
So from all the solos on the studio albums which do you think is the worst? There's no such thing as a bad solo on ANY GNR recordall of the solos (even in the catharctic mess in CD) sounds fucking goodHmm maybe the Live Like a Suicide solos are too simple (at least for my taste) Edited October 6, 2014 by Motivation
uncivil war
So Fine was probably Slash's worst solo studio wise. Even then it still fits in the song well.
DieselDaisy
This thread just highlights how vital Slash is to the gnr song. Thal has a handful of solos and all are tuneless endeavors. In contrast, Slash could not commit a bad solo to record if he tried. You can take shitty b-side quality gnr songs like Shotgun Blues or Back Off Bitch and they all have incredible fretwork.
sturginho
I hated the Shackler's solo when I first heard it but it grew on me so now I quite like it, not keen on Catcher or Rhiad.
