Apollo
World renown music critic Rick Florina of Artistdirect gives a stunning review of World on Fire:You haven't heard rock 'n' roll like this in a long time.In fact, Slash, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators—Todd "Dammit Kerns" and Brent Fitz—delivered a brash, ballsy, and brilliant seventeen-song slab in the form of World on Fire. Slash's third solo album feels like a new beginning not only for the guitar god, but for rock music as well. It all revs up with the rip-roaring title track and album opener "World On Fire". A signature Slash riff kickstarts a rambling verse punctuated by the rhythm section's impeccable groove as Myles carries a hook right out of this world. His range remains one of the most dynamic in all of the genre—ever. He's as impressive vocally as Slash is on the six-string.Slash starts the standout "Shadow Life" with an ominous and cinematic clean guitar that quickly snaps into a towering verse once again highlighting both the robust riffing and the vocalist's irreplaceable and inimitable howl. "Automatic Overdrive" and "Dirty Girl" swoon with a bluesy swing meant for the ladies, especially on the latter where a big falsetto from Myles takes flight. At the same time, "30 Years to Life" feels like a rabble rousing prison break equally rooted in Aerosmith-style swagger and metallic expanse. However, it's during World On Fire's more progressive moments that the album really lifts off the ground and into a different realm of rock altogether."Battleground" lives up to its name with a volley of vocal fireworks and incendiary guitars, while the record's most powerful moment comes during the closer "The Unholy". It's sacrilegious just how passionate and powerful this conclusion is, painting a breathless apocalyptic pastiche with leads, whispers, and soaring vocals.Slash, Myles, and The Conspirators have come to not only set rock on fire, but to really save it. Watch it burn with them.—Rick Florino09.10.14Read more at http://www.artistdirect.com/entertainment-news/article/album-review-slash-world-on-fire-5-out-of-5-stars/11198189#MKDFA6sSFF9mXwyO.

Nosaj Thing
If Rick Florino says it, it's a fact. World On Fire is an album that people with low IQ will never understand. Slash's sound transcends unimaginable limits and horizons. Definitely an album that will be more appreciated in 30 years. Smart people get it.
