I think this is why most of us are not thrilled when you see people like Andrei and Khan turning up >:( . Yeah, I think he secretely likes being told what to do and not being in charge. And he also doesn't want to disappoint Angus of course. All the rules and the structured environment in AC/DC seem to work well for him.

I first noticed him being weirdly childlike while watching old interview videos on youtube, or stuff like the making of videos. But you can even see it during concerts sometimes. Like when he plays silly pranks on his band mates and he always seems to think it's the most hilarious thing and beams over his whole face, it's quite endearing. Or conversely, when something doesn't go his way and he pouts for the rest of the concert

Not to mention his general tendency to have temper tantrums and how weirdly naive and gullible he can be about things. It reminds me of one of these songs Slash wrote about Axl on the first Snakepit album:

"And with everywhere you've been, you're much too old to be so naive"

Yep.

By the way, in the same song, Slash also goes on to say that he can't stand Axl's friends and the parties he attends. So it seems Slash shares our opinions when it comes to Axl's entourage

And it seems like Axl's "friends" have only gotten worse since then, so Slash (and Duff most likely) are probably less than thrilled about the likes of Andrei, Nur Khan, Jarmo, Nando etc always lurking around.

(To be fair though, I have to say that Vanessa was really nice both times I talked to her. Seemed very friendly, warm-hearted and easy-going. I've heard similar things from people who've met Beta. I guess that is why Axl enjoys having them around. People showing him warmth and caring is not something he's had a lot of in his life).

Yes, What Do You Want To Be plays in my head every time I see those people. I agree with Slash. He knows. 

It seems Axl is easily influenced and led too, this is what compounds it the more for me. When he first met up with Izzy in LA and started a band, Izzy says Axl didn't know what the hell he wanted to do, Izzy virtually dressed him and turned him into the singer he is. When the music trend started to shift in the 90s Axl wanted to follow that style, even though people warned against it. Then again in 2001 era, Axl totallly followed the music trend then with his braids and horrible nu metal look. Then again in 2010 when Ashba joined the band, he started wearing eye liner and Ashba Swag :s. It's like Axl doesn't know who Axl is. That's why I want those creeps gone, not necessarily TB, cos he genuinely loves them, maybe they could take more of a back seat, but the rest need to go!

Honestly, I think Slash was spot on with a lot of his lyrics about Axl. Some were even vaguely prophetic. Like

"And you ain't been out in days. Will the sunshine burn your face? Preserve your precious skin. I'll go out, you stay in."

Ain't been out in days turned into ain't been out in years, and meanwhile Slash went out and made something of himself, while Axl hid away in his mansion up in the hills.

Well, I will have to find this latest interview with Alan Niven out. I think it's true though, I can't remember who it was that said he'd been talking to Axl in the early 2000s but they said he was talking about how he liked Limp Bizkit and how he wanted to be cool like Fred Durst   this guy was like "but you're Axl fuckin Rose!!!" 

Yeah Izzy said he had to mould Axl into what he wanted cos he was running around trying everything, not really knowing what he wanting to look like or do. So that Izzy, Slash, Duff and Alan Niven who think the same as us.

Hey girls! Couple of days ago I posted a screenshot of comments under Sasha's picture of Axl, but I accidently noticed something else....

You know who Roxanna Shirazi is? There was a thread about her some months ago in the Main discussion but couldn't find it,  though I found this 

If I remember correctly, she was a groupie or something along those lines in the 80s and she published a book couple of years ago ''The Last living slut'' () in which she mentions her connections with GNR....Maybe some of you know more about that.

Nevertheless, someone asked  whether Sasha's still dating Axl, and Roxana answered:

 

She's not legit source or anything and I highly doubt she is in any kind of contact with Axl nowadays, but I just found it interesting that she would comment something like that. 

My personal oppinion on Sasha: I doubt that they're really dating, especially that long, but they might have a fling or something like that. Even the ''escort lady'' or just a friend seems possible. Plus, based on her instagram, she spends most of the time in England, and she appears only during the tours, so there's no way they're in a real relationship.....But who knows....

This is the story from the guy who Axl supposedly told he was lonely. It was a forum user called HisRoyalSweetness (I remember that guy got Axl to hold a "Silkworms" sign ) and it was posted in the "Has anyone here ever met Axl??" - thread:

"i got to hang out and talk to him at a party once. he seemed pretty bitter and angry to me. he talked about being so depressed he didn't feel like he could leave the house for years. complained about being alone. complained about fans forsaking and turning on him. complained about the label expectations and his fear that they'd want to make changes in chinese democracy. never mentioned the old band. at the time, he was more hung up on CD. he cracked jokes, though. and was totally aware of the eat my silkworms site, and had a good laugh about it.. del james was with him, and kinda kept him buffered from others. he tried to interrupt axl when he was talking to me several times, until finally axl snapped at him and told him to give him some space and that they'd leave whenever he was ready. all in all, we talked for 20 minutes or so.

my impression overall was that he was sad, angry and lonely. when he complained about fans turning on him, i tried to explain the fan's side... about how deeply artists can speak to fans, and how beyond making music, they're speaking for people who don't know how to or can't for themselves. it may seem silly, but it's a special relationship. so when they feel axl sorta gave up on them, they gave up on him too. but that their 'hate' or 'indifference' was just the flip side of their love and adulation. that one couldn't exist without the other. that haters only exist because they love the guy and deep down inside want to have him back and kicking ass again. he seemed to think about that a little, and told me it was a perspective he hadn't considered before, which seemed weird to me. but then, it's probably not something beta, fernando or del would tell him. after that exchange was when he got a little more laid back and happy. he introduced me to his date and took a picture with an 'eat my silkworms' page.

this was still a year or two before chinese democracy came out, which no doubt was an especially shitty time in his life. hopefully vegas has got him in a much happier place. he was very, very ready to get CD out, and claimed he was extremely proud of it. he was having a good time dancing at the party. it was cool, but overall, i don't think i want to meet my favorite celebrities anymore."

And that guy also made a second post in that thread talking some more about Axl:

"yeah, he was drunk. but no more than anyone else. certainly no more than quincy jones. i think del was trying to keep axl safe, just because his attitude can be so unpredictable, and little things can set him off. i could see how a fan with good intentions could unintentionally create a shitstorm for del and team brazil to have to manage later. baz was there, and i talked to him for a few minutes, mainly about how i wanted to say hi to axl. he warned against it, and for a while i didn't... but after a while i thought, fuck it, i may never get the chance to say hi to that guy again, and for better or worse, i want to know what he's like.

That's probably one of the most interesting "When I met Axl" stories I've come across. It rings very true to me. Especially about him being depressed, and upset about the fans and the label and everything. Those are things Axl later talked about himself.

I also thought the childlike/boyish comment was interesting, because Axl has always struck me that way as well. He does have something strangely sweet/innocent and vulnerable around him in many instances.

Maybe Axl missed having someone to talk to like that after Slash, Duff, Izzy etc were all gone and that's why strangers got to hear all about his feelings lol. And since some people in his entourage seem pretty dumb or asshole-ish  and Sasha apparently only speaks broken English, talking to them might not be very satisfying to Axl or something

And yes, very much agreed on the last two paragraphs. Axl hanging with the "kids" because he can't really relate to people his own age is already pretty awkward and it's only going to become more cringeworthy the older he gets. One more reason why it's good for him to have Slash and Duff back. At least these guys are people his own age that he has something in common with. And unlike the freak show, they won't drop him like a hot potato again sooner or later (unless he does something phenomenally stupid).

About the being so open thing... have you people never been drunk? Man, I tell my entire fucking life story whenever I get some booze in me. Nothing weird with that. I think you guys are reading into shit too much. 

Also I doubt Axl is who you think he is. I think there's a possibility he's just a normal man with loads of money and a weird fashion sense.

I am like that as well and when I'm passionate about a subject or object I get obsessed and I can't stop for as long as Im hooked on it 

Sucks because I make people around me tired. Lol. The good thing is that I can talk almost about everything because I have a wide general culture and been very fortunate to reach high levels of education. So, when people want to talk about their shit, I'm up for it too

I think Axl has Del and Baz as friends closer to his age, who are not idiots like the freak show. Don't know who else is close to him. Would be cool if he made amends with Marc Canter too.

Not everybody react to alcohol in the same way. And yes, we said that could be one of the reasons why he opens up to strangers. Not reading into it much more than you're reading into it or us.

The good thing with this thread is that most of us (not all though) have the capability to go back and forth through a variety of topics, serious and non serious, about the band or each band member. And there's the female element added to it, which provides another perspective.

The photos of ass and crotch  are just a "break" from the serious matters, not much different than guys talking about tits and vagina  but we've demonstrated we can navigate any water and don't subject ourselves to just one topic or perpetuate a single dumb point of view. 

Over-analysis can't be avoided when you're discussing a topic. This whole forum then should be labeled as over-analysis of Guns N' Roses and that'd be stupid to say. It's a discussion board with opinions as diverse as the amount of people who post here.

Same with this thread and any other thread.

I just read in another thread that someone emailed them asking about the video and they said it would take some time, but we would see it by the end of the week.
