He's a great guitar player, and it's not his fault he didn't get to contribute in a way both he and us would have liked due to the internal churnings of the band. Generally the people who talk shit are the fans who were really never willing to give anyone else a chance in the band, hating anyone who wasn't in the 87-93 line-up because of who they aren't rather than objectively evaluating them as human beings and musicians. Most of the people with a brain here respect the effort Ron made during the time he was in the band, even if they're happy to see Slash back in the band.
