Powerage5
I saw them during the Blaze Bayley era. Maybe you should get him back.Blaze is actually a great singer still. The problem is, he can't do Maiden songs in the original key - he doesn't have Bruce's range. When he can tune down a whole step or a step and a half (Which he does in his solo shows for Bruce-era songs), he absolutely nails them. The reason he sounded so rough during his time in Maiden is because Steve refused to tune down to accommodate Blaze's voice (Or even build a setlist around Blaze's voice for that matter). So without Steve changing his stance on down tuning, there's no chance of Blaze returning. Not to mention it'd be hugely unsuccessful in the big picture, and it would probably send mixed messages if it were only to be temporary. I'd prefer to see everyone in the band take the year to focus on their side projects this year. Even Bruce has other business ventures to keep him busy. I'd love if Steve took this time to knock off the second British Lion album (Since most of it is already written) and finally do a North American tour. DieselDaisy
All I remember was he was a sweaty guy with a backwards baseball cap. This is the setlist I saw by the way,http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/iron-maiden/1998/newcastle-city-hall-newcastle-england-7bd3aaf0.html
bran
Looks like no tour this year. Colin Price (Dave's guitar tech) posted on Facebook that he'll be looking for a gig for the rest of this year due to cancellations. That's a pretty concrete confirmation to me. Disappointing, but not surprising. Still though, I think it's the right choice - I'd rather see them take a year off and have Bruce come back as strong as ever. For those keeping track, this will be the first year without any gigs since 1997.it just shows just how much a hardworking band maiden is. i just want to see bruce get healthy and comeback strong and if takes the rest of the year then thats what it takes.

I'd be hard pressed to think of any other band in the business who, in a 40 year career, were on tour during 36 of those years. In other news - Bruce was filming some sort of aviation promo spot - here's some current pictures:
Anguyen92
Bruce sporting a stache. Interesting. I don't think from the proshots and the DVD footage, I've seen, I have ever seen him with facial hair. Zeppelin
Crazy to think there won't be much Maiden activity for the whole year. But I just hope he recovers and is 100% for next year. Plus, I can save up some money to actually travel to see Maiden this time.

Cosmo
Cancer will never kill Bruce. i thought the same about dio Stop it guys! There's a visual difference in health between Bruce and Dio. Bruce looks 20 years younger than he is, the man is impossibly strong and well built. Dio on his latter years looked tired, even if he sounded like, well, Dio. I've always hoped that Maiden would come here to London, but I think that's going to stay a dream. So, it's time for me to get out there. I was going to go to St. Louis when they were touring with Megadeth in the US, but those plans fell through. So, yeah, I think 2016 will be a travelling year if things go well. Val22
At least Bruce went for regular checkups.that was what killed Dio, he kept touring and working and never took the time to go to a doctor. he said it himself he kept making excuses for his stomach pains. Look when you get older no one wants to go to a doctor and get bad news, but if you get checked regularly it can and will save your life. I'm living proof of that.I lost my parents to cancer because they were checked too late or never followed up on their health. It's scary to be told you have cancer, but if it's caught early you can survive to live many more years. In life you have to take care of yourself for yourself first and then family and friends. I admire Dio for continuing to put his fans first, but it cost him his life.Hopefully Bruce will get through this and come out the other side stronger and so will Iron Maiden. He's a great singer in his own right and most of the people who shit on him only do it because he couldn't handle most of the Bruce material. Some songs he could manage but it's a shame Steve didn't want to tune down.

Like, I know it's cliche, but we really are like s big family. Everyone knows everyone, and we all just have a great time. Even if you don't do like ten gigs a year or go overseas or whatever, you're still a part of the group. It's honestly half the reason I do so many Maiden gigs - I've made most of my best friends because of Maiden.

Powerage5
Announced today that Bruce is cancer free and has been cleared to resume regular activities following his MRI. Rod issued a statement confirming there won't be any dates this year, but the band will resume touring next year. The new album WILL be out later this year however.
