  1. To each his own. You are a guitar player, so you would know way more than I in terms of what type of talent level Robin had or has. I just don’t think his solos are memorable. I do love the riff to Better, probably my favorite of his recordings in Guns overall imo and what should have been the lead single and video in 2006 To be fair, watching videos like NR a million times when it came out as well as my VHS of the Ritz from MTV probably explains why I prefer Slash in Guns over any anyone else. That tone, the feeling of solos, they are so perfect and memorable to me. I got into them when I was 14 and they were just breaking out. Very impressionable age and he has remained my second favorite guitarist after EVH.
  2. “Processable by you.” Do you not see how condescending this is? Why you feel the need to argue and act superior, rather than discuss, says a lot about your lack of maturity. And the fact that you are unable to succinctly state any points reflects on your lack of confidence in yourself.
  3. The only one who tries to make anything complex around here is you. You act like you’re Axl’s point man and number one defender. It’s pathetic and no, no one thinks you’re smarter than anyone else just because you seem to have the time to write essays about a man you’ve never met
  4. It would all depend on how many songs Axl gave him and Duff to work with
  5. I hear what you’re saying, I just don’t see his work as up to par with Slash. Most of his solos seemed fairly predictable. Melodic? Yes, absolutely and TIL is a really good solo! Maybe I just never fully accepted him because he wasn’t Slash or Izzy and Axl was so fucking hard headed that he kept the band name for his solo work
  6. I mostly agree with you here. The original NuGuns versions absolutely sound more cohesive. Personally, I just don’t like Robin’s rather weak and uninspired solos. Just my opinion of course. Outside of This I Love, nothing else is very memorable. Bucket is amazing on almost everything he touches of course. As for the NITL singles, Perhaps and Hard Skool absolutely sound closer to UYI than CD. Even the riff and overall music up until the stupid breakdown of Absurd are more like what I would expect of a punkish Guns song. Hell, even The General could have been an epic song if it actually went anywhere. If only someone could convince Axl to let a major producer take charge for an NITL album
  7. Duff announces a new double live album coming later this month. I guess I’m too much of a simpleton to understand why Guns hasn’t released a live album 8 years into the semi reunion
  8. No need to argue anymore, apparently the salient point is over everyone’s head. You’re precious
  9. Axl defense team to the rescue! Nom nom nom, Axl’s balls are magically delicious!
  10. Based on vinyl production I wouldn’t expect the next SMKC album to come out until next year if it’s being recorded this fall
  11. No, it’s because there was never an albums worth of good material to put out. Of the 5 completed songs we have heard, only the unreleased one, Monsters, is actually worthy of the GnR name. Perhaps if Axl wasn’t so lazy with his lyrics
  12. How does Axl put out a book that is factual and also doesn’t burn bridges that he has spent so much time and effort rebuilding? I’m sincerely interested in how he would choose his words. Will he temper them to keep peace with the current money making machine that is the three union? Or will he go for broke and lay it all out there like Sorum’s first draft?
  13. As much as we all wish it wasn’t so, it appears the only real creative outlet for Duff and Slash are to release their own albums outside of Guns. Sure, they worked on some old songs that were previously recorded by another band, and I sincerely hope we get a compilation album with some more unheard tracks. But they didn’t create those songs. The next album Duff puts out will consist of songs he recorded or updated during the lockdown specifically for his own solo projects.
  14. Did brain or anyone else from GnR confirm when the This I Love remix vocals were done?
  15. Agreed, although to hear some on here Axl has been continually creating multiple masterpieces in total private that he may or may not share with his fans
  16. Steven was fired, changing the sound Axl took over some production duties and added a bunch of worthless overdubs Izzy left during the tour
  17. I think you might be missing his point, as Atlas wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the lead up to your comment. Other than Hard Skool, the recent releases all feel incomplete due to repetitive and lazy lyrics in addition to some questionable production and mixing choices. They definitely feel like leftovers to me, even though I do really like Perhaps. If Perhaps was done during the Illusions I imagine someone would have assisted Axl with writing another verse or pushing him for another one before releasing it as is, but that’s just wishful thinking. However, I do think the fact that we have Atlas and especially Monsters lends credibility to there being more of the so-called A list songs. I’m really interested in hearing a completed Oklahoma/Berlin, being that it was originally written by Axl.
  18. Not one of those guys was ever THE lead guitarist for a single concert with Guns, so @Tom2112 is correct. You listed two rhythm guitarists, and then four who were co-leads.
