As disappointing as it will be if that NAMM setlist is legit, Breakdown would be a major win.
With mickey Axl? No thanks. I'd prefer Bad Obsession or at least PTU, although there's also some rasp.

Any predictions for setlist changes?
One new cover, one new deep cut.

Being a perfectionist is a handicap when you're trying to be creative. Music is art, emotion, it's something you feel that needs to come out.
Not something you should overthink.
And I'll say it again, Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 is very honest about this: when he was young he had all these heavy emotions and the songs basically wrote themselves... but as he got older and more relaxed, the creativity died with it.
My feeling is that Axl is going through the same thing. He looks too happy and relaxed He is not the young angry Axl anymore.
What is he going to write about?
20 years ago was a different situation though... So I'm still hoping there's some stuff "in the vault" the current lineup feels is worthy of a proper release.
And maybe he's just happy with how things are right now and doesn't want to change anything. My boss at work is the same age as Axl and is like that. Doesn't want to grow the company, just wants to keep it stable... secure. And he's enjoying life instead of working all the time.
These guys are getting older...
In such case, I hope he still has many unused lyrics from the past left – he could give them to Slash without any music or melodies whatsoever, and this way, some cool music could be created.

Again , it is really good to hear everyone thoughts here.
I agree with @jamillos that was one amazing show. (and yes it can be either any one that you attended or have seen via You Tube etc)
I love the fact some of you think 1991 are some of our best kept shows! ...and for some , very lucky memories. I strongly agree too! although Milton Keynes 1993 would be my memory too ,simply being, i was old enough to go then. Definitely keep it going guys.
The main reason for my choice was that 1991 (and this show in particular) was a certain interim. An interim between the original, raw era of the 80s and the professionally bombastic portion as seen in 92/93. Including the way they played the songs as well as the way Axl sang. Adler was gone, but Izzy was still there. There was chaos and the aspect of danger, but it was already the UYI tour, and things were getting more organized (despite the omnipresent issues), e.g. the stage choreography. It was the first part of the UYI tour, they were almost at the peak of fame, new songs were being introduced while the old ones still sounded great (and some maybe better). They were on TV all the time, and rightfully so. It was right in between. And St. Louis demonstrated all this perfectly, including the ending.

the people on gnrevolution are saying there's hoarders of CD2 music?

how does that come about!? how are those tracks acquired?
and apparently Soul Monster and Se7en are traveling around?
What, this sentence?
"If Se7en and Soul Monster are really in circulation right now, let’s talk"
That dude is subconsciously feeding off the energy and attention you (and me) are giving him right now.
"Don't believe every shit you read on the internet."

The last time Slash put out a record with original GnR music it was 1991. The Berlin Wall had fallen only two years before. Operation Desert Storm began that year. Sonic the Hedgehog was released in the US.
Take a second to let that sink in folks.

Blimey, you were there. It bet that’s a hard one not to forget. Did you get any stage swag?
No, I've just seen the bootleg. I don't think this is necessarily about shows that you've personally been to, but I may be wrong.

There’s also the question of what "reaction" there was supposed to be, or more precisely, reaction to what. These were two songs that they started playing without any promotion whatsoever, unless you count the image videos. No interviews about it, no look behind the scenes, no info on the history, in-the-making process, proper band interviews, no nothing (because everything is super-secret), and especially no proper music videos for either of them. They just said a few words on the stage and started playing them. Plus considering Silkworms (yes, Silkworms) doesn’t really do anything for the fans of "real" GNR music, whatever that is, there’s no wonder the reception was lukewarm. All in all, typical conduct of GNR and their management team of the last 25+ years.

i think it has more to do with some specific uneducated and childish idiots on this forum who like to use this word for everything they don't like and it has become pretty annoying.
How many, though, one guy? So we censor a word because of a single guy? Because I haven't really noticed this being some horrible plague here recently, only some occasional instances. Come on. We can't treat this like the n-word.

Holy shit, you’re kidding me. Smarter than me?? And what’s next? Nuclear? Gasoline? White? Male/female? 1984? Orwell? Huckleberry Finn? In my opinion? I think? Alternative?

And by the same token, then we have the good ole complainin’ about complainin’, stating that one doesn’t care yet they clearly do, not getting the irony of complaining about someone repeating the same shit over and over, while repeating the same shit over and over as part of the complaining about the repetition. Ah, the new album thread, you’ll never let me down.
Sometimes it’s harsh and tedious. But even when Al came home every day, opening with "A fat woman clip-clopped into the shoe store today," and Peggy heard the same story each time, she never left him, and he never stopped working in that shop and coming back home to the red beast every day. That’s just the way it is – sometimes it sucks, and the complaining is a part of it; but that doesn’t mean you’re supposed to quit and leave it for good, does it? And as long as it sucks, there will be negativity. People naturally vent, especially in company. But if you try focusing on something else, you’ll discover there’s also fun to be had. The Bundys had it, and so do we.
Rant over, thanks to the lame-ass thread, I’m going home.

I started to get really interested in Chinese Democracy in 1999 when the articles in Spin and Rolling Stone came out giving some inside scoop into Axl and the new band and the musical direction they were taking. Then 9 years went by and this felt like a lifetime until Chinese was finally officially released in 2008. Now we are at almost 15 years. If it had just been another 9 years which is still forever we would have gotten a new album in 2017. I just have no expectation any more of an entire new album ever being released. I will never understand why a band of the magnitude doesn’t release full length studio albums. It’s truly one of the most bizarre things in the history of rock music.

Watching Oklahoma 92. Jesus Christ, what a band that was. What an era that was. I mean in general, not just GNR.
I guess this is just nostalgia (and vodka) talking...- 1

Ha, looks like we're getting a new cover version or something. Has any famous musician died recently?

Not to me, but to each their own I guess. Songs like Bad Obsession would be a way better - and wiser - choice in any case imo.
