It's a weird one isn't it? People seem absolutely amazed when foreign bands come to the UK and do one or two shows........yet they go through Europe doing one or two shows in every country.

What makes it odd though is actually how many shows bands do in the UK compared to other countries normally. We get totally saturated for shows and it's not uncommon for bands (especially smaller ones) to do more shows in the UK alone than they do in the whole of the European run. I've never really understood why this is- apart from the obvious fact that the UK is a major market for music. One glance at the sheer number of UK music festivals shows this- it amazes me how many there are.

It sounds weird but I sometimes speculate that it's all down to The Beatles igniting such a massive thirst for music that never went away.

Anyway- the GNR European tour as it stands has more shows in the UK than anywhere else now!

Well, I guess it mostly has to do with promoters and offers. I'm sure they wouldn't deny more shows, if they got offers, but they also don't actively go out to make more UK shows happen. They get by either way.

I seriously contemplated travelling from the UK to Vegas to see the opening night in 2016.

Fast forward to 2020, when they announced London dates in my home country I didn't even consider buying a ticket.

Ooh, you're so edgy. <_< You know, you all can cry about lack of music and dimnishing talents of Axl all you want, but I'm still happy about every show I did get to see, instead of sitting at home complaining about what they don't do. And while I still hate the ticket prices, they gave monster shows and I will be right back in the front row, once touring resumes. There will be a time before long when it is over and all just a memory. Until then, I take what I can get, even if it is not 100% as great as it could be. It's still good enough.

Can't help thinking that we would be better off if Slash and Duff hadn't joined Guns N' Roses again, at least in terms of new music.

Right. As if there would be new music if they weren't back. It's more like, if not even Slash and Duff can get Axl to release new music, then what will? And don't tell me me, money.

It's crazy to think, that in the entire 4 year mammoth tour, apart from Download festival they only played 2 UK shows, on two consecutive nights, in only one city, London. Why the hell didn't they do more UK shows?

It's not. The UK just isn't as important as you UK people seem to think it is.

Imagine going through the effort to professionally record that monumental show just to keep it in house? Now would be the time to drop a few songs from the show for the Selects.

Oh, well. According to Fernando keeping the bragging rights of douches, who mostly got there due to connections and being in the proximity, intact, is way more important than doing something for the fuckers who missed out. But yay, we got 30 seconds on Instagram. Where do we have to send a check? Standing outside that fucking Troubadour was my worst GNR related thing ever.

I knew they has been popular for years, i not say that Queen is just popular  just for it movie. Just it movie increase more the interest  to great audience , cause it movie has many appeal to people that  .isn't put many attention in Queen before it movie, youngs too.

More likely the movie was so successful, because Queen is so popular. Why would anyone watch a biopic, when they are not interested in the band in the first place??

How stupid this can, could, should, would, must be?

Why does Fernando gets so much hate over here? Is he really the one to blame for the band's poor choices over the last 28 years?

Is he the one to blame for Slash or Duff leaving the band?

Is he the one to blame for the lost years?

Is he the one to blame for ChiDem to take 13 years to be done?

Is he the one to blame for the lack of tour?

Is he the one to blame for Axl's voice?

Is he the one to blame for Pittman, or Izzy's no show, or Adler once again being treated like shit?

Doc McGee, Merck, Doug Gouldstein, Alan Niven and Axl himself did much more damage to the band than Fernando, or Beta! They only have helped Axl.

Tell me one real thing that they have done wrong, or is it because they are not like you know, Americans, and "up to the job"?

Of course not. Axl is still mostly to blame. But he's not helping shit move along either (which, obviously is understandable, having to deal with Axl being the boss). And some of the dumb stuff he says and priorities he seems to have, suggest he's a douche.

  8. Just watched JL a second time tonight and yeah. It holds up and manages to not feel too long. While I find this whole new gods thing rather uninteresting in the comics, it is pretty cool to see Darkseid on the screen. Can't believe they cut him from the original release. Also Martian Manhunter. Only DC/Warner would do such a thing.

It depends, when you've gotten into GnR. For me it was 1991 with the Illusions. So those records will always be my favorites. A4D is an awesome records, but just a bit below the Illusions.

(Honestly there are some kind of "fillers" on A4D too. Anything Goes and You're Crazy are alright, but similar to Shotgun Blues and You ain't the first. I Like 'em, but not as much as the big guns. So I get Frankfurt93's opinion.)

Why does things always have to be compared? UYI is just different. It expanded and, considering it's 30 tracks, in a way dilluted the GNR sound. It's not necessarily worse (or better). Just different.

To be honest, I think it would've surpassed it. No tacky cover versions or b-grade material like Back Off Bitch or Garden of Eden. Just straight up killer rocknroll.

I had to omit Estranged as you can't have four 8+min epics on one album.

    1. Right Next Door To Hell
    2. Dust N Bones
    3. Civil War
    4. Bad Obsession
    5. Don't Cry
    6. Locomotive
    7. Breakdown
    8. Double Talkin Jive
    9. November Rain
    10. The Garden
    11. You Could Be Mine
    12. Bad Apples
    13. Coma

Fuck that. You can't have UYI without Estranged. It's good the way it is. Not every song needs to be killer.

I love the Illusion albums! But your list there wouldn't work for me. So I'll go with:

    1. You Could Be Mine
    2. Live & Let Die
    3. Civil War
    4. 14 Years
    5. Locomotive
    6. Don't Damn Me
    7. Pretty Tied Up
    8. Estranged
    9. Don't Cry
    10. The Garden
    11. Coma

This is an age old question (or rather since 1991) that will never go away... Should the Illusions have been 1 album instead of 2!?

    Answer is no.

I did enjoy it more than I thought I would, but I think largely because I split the viewing over two nights.

It's hard for me to compare it to Whedon's version as I honestly don't remember it much.

I did. Hadn't planned to watch it all in one sitting, but it went surprisingly well. I too enjoyed it.

I also can't really make a comparison, as I've only seen the Whedon version once some time ago and forgot most of it. So I kinda would like to watch that one again to compare.

Re-watching Batman Vs. Superman for the first time since it came out. It is an extended edition so maybe it is more coherent this time. I really disliked it when it came out, and probably still do but I also have to give it kudos for being a big, unique mess. It reminds me of TLJ which I really like as a Star Wars fan. One of the dumbest parts for me was Superman having a grudge against Batman, that made zero sense. They did a good job setting up why Batman wants to take out Superman, though.

    Edit- Still a slog

Yeah. Both were being total idiots in that movie. And what would have happened if Clark's mother would have been called Jane?
Also watched Man of Steel and Dawn of justice for the first time since years and I have to say I liked Dawn (the extended edition) more than MOS. The latter is just, meh.

He's going to be 78 when she reaches adulthood. That's about how old my grandma was when I turned 18.

I had no idea his wife was only 36.....this is Hollywood we are talking about after all. They started dating when he was 44 and she was 19!

I wish him the best, I really do. It's going to be difficult.

Other than the one thing, I wouldn't really know what to do with a 19 year old. Different worlds. But good for them if it works. The kid will have some sleepless nights about losing daddy at an early age though. Not sure if that is fair to a kid.

Well I haven't really perceived any decrease in quality in any of the UYI songs, excluding My World (or DC with different lyrics). Even a song like Bad Apples is just different, but not worse. Idk, I guess it just functions better as a whole to me. Don't really remember the SOAD records too much any more, but distinctively remember thinking that the albums could have been made into one. Totally different from UYI. Nevermind.

If you can't remember the albums, you're not really in a position to judge them. ;) And no, it's not totally different. Both albums feature stronger and not so strong songs. Songs that wouldn't have been released, if they didn't have 140 minutes of music to fill. Nevermind on the other hand... :P;)

    nobody buys the physical product.

Disagree. The only way I ever buy music is physcial. Never ever will I buy a download. And I know plenty of people who feel the same. As for album length. I love me a long album. I don't advocate for an album to be short. I just don't see why anyone would release a double album at this time.

but it's not going to sell huge anyway even if it's just 1 record? AC/DC's Power Up, did it sell millions? what was the point in releasing it from a commercial standpoint? still, fans seems to be digging it. Roger is old and has made a ton of great records and the difference in sales between 2016 and 2021 is marginal enough to not be relevant imo when it comes to double albums.

The cost: Axl and the record company have already paid for at least the recording of CD ll. The band is rich as fuck.

music fans come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Box sets are in it seems. Some people will always have a long enough of an attention span to listen to long records similar to how they like to read very long fantasy books for example, even if the pace of life in the modern world is faster.

You have 2 marketing points in terms of selling a tour. Also you can charge more for 2 seperate albums than 1 double album. People are more likely to pay the lower price for the single album, than for the double album.
