Yep, this. On top of this, every listing in their official shop says "POWER UP", other retail websites like Amazon say "POWER UP", Discogs has it listed as "Power Up", other music streaming and purchasing platforms like iTunes and Spotify say "POWER UP". "PWR/UP" is artistic license on the actual name of the album - it's essentially a flashy logo

Right. So they plaster the whole world full with the wrong album title. Also their designer got it wrong and they have written the wrong name on the actual album.  Oh well, if you wanna believe that. Though it doesn't get much clearer than that:

The name is PWR/UP but they keep dumbing it down, so dimwitted people know how to pronounce that shit.

When i said the touring crew i meant the real people that make a tour happen,  the sound engineers, lighting people, riggers, roadies etc. Not the touring crew like kat and her black and white photos, and TBs hangeroners. I should have been more specific.

Yeah. But other tours manage to pay those too. Without outragous prices. Fake GNR was able to pay them also with regular priced tickets.

In my view TB dont deserve the money, and its strange that they are the beneficeries of his estate should anything happen.

But i think the band touring and the money they make is not just about them its also about the touring crew which i  the band consider as family. It seems they are the type of band where if the band make money everone thats considered GNR  family everyone gets a slice of the pie. I actually admire them for this type of attitude.  When guns are touring it means the touring crew are constantly getting paid, and i think GNR have used the same crew for a number of years.

It would be better if the band have no interest in an album of at least dropping a new ep and play as part of every new tour.

It reminds me when the band when the illusion tour finished they hired a restaurant in new york and shouted the crew a party.

So? And the hanger ons have a great life, doing close to nothing, financed by overcharging us. And then we can see on IG what a party their life is, while we pay twice as much for tickets than we used to pay.  That is not something I admire.

I literally just googled 'new acdc album' and a whole page came up with 'power up' so it's being used by the general media too.

    I KNOW IT'S CALLED PWR/UP.

Now stop being pedantic and play nicely :)

Yeah. Like I said, because they write it wrong. Apparently even the douche who's responsible for AC/DCs online stuff, when all he needs to do is to check the actual album cover/graphic. Everything else is irrelevant. If it's not on the album cover, it's not the name.

And who's to say we are not playing nicely?

  5. 13 minutes ago, janrichmond said:

It may well be the official name but it's also listed as POWER UP many times. If the OP want's to change the title he can. Let's leave it up to him.

Yes. Because people write it wrong. PWR/UP is written on the album. So there is no doubt about what is the actual name.

  6. 4 minutes ago, StrangerInThisTown said:

Not on ACDCs official streaming lol, "POWER UP" in all caps, is how it's listed there

Then they should fire whoever wrote that there. It's pedestrian and no eyes for details. All the graphics say PWR/UP. So that's the name.

What does it bothers you? You should write something useful here instead of complaining about a title

Because it's annoying. You have a thread dedicated to an album, but can't even bother to get the name right. Also Power up is lame. PWR/UP is cool. And there is no debate really, as to whether that is the name. It's obvious. So I am writing something useful. ;)

It's just a shortened version of the title :shrugs:

AC/DC will film a "virtual video" for the next single off the band's latest album "Power Up".

Released on November 13, "Power Up" features AC/DC's 2020 lineup of Brian Johnson (vocals), Phil Rudd (drums), Cliff Williams (bass), Angus Young (guitar) and Stevie Young (guitar). The LP was recorded over a six-week period in August and September 2018 at Warehouse Studios in Vancouver with producer Brendan O'Brien, who also worked 2008's "Black Ice" and 2014's "Rock Or Bust".

The news of AC/DC's next single and video was broken by Johnson, who released a video message earlier today thanking fans for their support since "Power Up" came out.

"We're gonna try to do a virtual video of the next song that we want to bring out off the album," he said (see video below). "The thing is, none of us have ever done this before, so it's gonna be brilliant, standing like a tit, by yourself, miming on a microphone because you know that we're miming, and we know that you know that we know that you know that we're miming, but still — it's gonna be fun. Angus is gonna be playing down in Sydney, Phil's gonna be whacking the drums in New Zealand, and Cliff's gonna be paddling away. He might even come up to join me, 'cause he's not too far down the road. And Stevie somewhere in England, I don't know. We hope to put an exciting video together."

It's on the fucking album cover. Ever saw a shortened album title on an album cover? Who cares what Blabbermouth writes? Check out AC/DC's instagram. All the graphics say PWR/UP.

These pictures were uploaded on their website some minutes ago and immediately taken down again. That definitely confirms Brian, Cliff and Phil are back and they were working on something.

The damn album is called PWR/UP. Can't you rename the thread??

I like their music now, but come on.....what teenager wants the approval, or to have anything in common with, their parents?!

Isn't half the charm of music always the rebellion and the 'voice of a generation' thing? Sad if that's been lost, as it's always been the case - The Beatles owe a lot of their success to parents saying "what's this long-haired trash" while teenagers lapped it up.

Well. I guess it all depends on how crappy your parents taste is. I never felt the need to desperately have to like something different.

It depends where in Australia you are. If your in a city theres hardly anything. Obviously out near the bush areas theres snakes, spiders animals. No different to other countries having those things in the wild.

Love to see them on IG. Glad we don't have them here. ;)

Thank god the boarders are closed in New Zealand, and we dont have to deal with the bitching in person while attending the shoes. Even if the boarders were open half of you bitching would not travel to see the band outside of your own shores.

Plenty of Australians and New Zealanders have travelled far a field to see this band play..

Maybe because we don't expected them to return again so we are making the most of it..

The band will sell out the venues and people attending the shows will rook out and enjoy themselves.

See. Aussies and Kiwis are not constantly complaining.

You can pretty much always pick up  cheaper tickets for big shows, and these fit the bill (large venues, second run through the area, ticket sales not great in other countries etc etc).  Just my speculation of course - could be wrong, but I'd be amazed if there weren't offers nearer the time.

Once again, if you don't give a damn where you end up. Different story, if you want a specific seat/section. And they won't face the problem that nobody wants to buy a ticket again, as it is only the second time they swing through after almost 5 years.

Honestly, people sort of stereotype the wildlife to be a bigger threat than it really is. Yeah, there’s a lot of wildlife that’s dangerous. But you just don’t come across it often unless you’re not being mindful of your surroundings. I always go on a few nature-centric trips every time I go to Australia, and I’ve never come across any dangerous wildlife.

Yes. You should check out www.instagram.com/sunshinecoastsnakecatchers <_< Nature comes visiting frequently.

ive never felt compelled to go to Australia until now... the withdrawal im having from not attending live shows far outweighs any fear i may have of being eaten by wildlife lol

Yeah. I'm also kinda looking for an excuse to go there. Since I bailed the last time. I definitely want to go there when there are concerts. Just don't know yet which one. Either GNR, U2 or Janet Jackson. Something will finally bring me down there.

  15. 1 hour ago, allwaystired said:

You'll be able to pick them up cheap, no doubt about it.

Why would that be? Come next November it's been almost 5 years since they've been in Australia last. People in Australia don't get every tour and do not complain all the time. Also I hear that New Zealand actually already has concerts back. I'm sure the Covid situation is easier to manage down under. Especially in a year, so these really could be the first shows back.

  16. 4 hours ago, ZoSoRose said:

    But it is tested?

Yes. Short term. Not long term. As it obviously can't be, since it's new. And I do not say that as someone who is against vaccines in general, as I'm not.

    3 hours ago, ZoSoRose said:

Also if you are skeptical of the vaccine because of its rushed development, fine. To call the disease not really it's very disrespectful and ignorant, which prompted my comment

But it is a fact that only very few people actually die. So therefor it is only potentially deadly. Most likely it won't kill you.

  17. 1 hour ago, RussTCB said:

For those who are either anti vax or don't think the virus is that big of a deal to begin with: what do you think the right way forward is? Just restart concerts as they were before the pandemic?

Well. In this climate you obviously can't. As eventually someone will get blamed should something happen and you can't really shut everything down, but have concerts going on. But at some point.... going to a concert, with how many people do you actually get in close contact for a prolonged time? Just because there are 15,000 people, don't mean you get in contact with 15,000 people. And passing someone, who has Corona, doesn't actually give you Corona too. So, once lock downs are lifted, why not? People, who are worried or at risk, will stay away anyway. People, who feel sick, probably too.
