I dunno, I feel like fans don't know what they are wanting. Fans reacted negatively to TLJ because it did things they weren't expecting, and are trying to blame Rian when all he did was follow the plot points JJ had already set up and try to be creative with them. There are parts of TLJ that I would have probably done differently, but Rian didn't really have much say in a lot of stuff that was already set up by JJ. (Luke being exiled being the main thing, he wasn't going to abandon his friends and run away to an island and then suddenly want to return and fight in the next film, that would make no sense). The crew and a lot of fans are throwing Rian under the bus recently for no reason and it's sad to see. I have also seen that fans who think this film is bad are trying to blame Rian for it as well, somehow. The plot points for this film are questionable, and I don't think a lot of fans are into it, but the way the film has been made is down to how fans reacted to TLJ, IMO.
This film is bad, plot point wise, because they had no concept of what the trilogy was gonna be over three movies. They set something up with 7, gave Johnson free reign to dismantle/abort/ignore everything that was set up previously in his movie and now somehow had to rail it all back in to get to where they started with 7/make sense of it. So really, Johnson is not the only one to blame for this. It's the producers, who had no clue and gave no guideline on what can and can not happen in Johnson's movie. And really, that they shit on everything that a Jedi is about and is capable or not capable of doing is on them. Not Johnson. The only thing I really hate Johnson for is that stupid force projection fight and Luke dying for no apparent reason. It's stupid as hell. As is that Leia space float. Other than that, maybe that Rey heritage thing aside, but I could look at that as just Ren bullshitting and playing with her (who says the villain has to be truthful all the time?) I'm really content with what Johnson did.

That's where I'm at with it. Like I've said previously, it seems like the lines were drawn on this long ago: the people who wanted to hate it are hating it. The people that want to love it, are loving it.
I'm in the middle. Sure, I want to like it but I wanted to like TLJ too and just couldn't. I'll know exactly where I stand by this time tomorrow though
I wanted to love it, but I hate it.
I like Ep. 8 for the most part, except for what they did with Luke (and Leia), which is a big WTF and not consistent with anything that came before.

I'm not sure fans really wanted this. I certainly didn't.

I feel him. One big WTF moment that completly shits on the established lore, filled with plot holes you could drive a truck through. Visually great, but storywise just bad.

Critic consensus on RT: “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker suffers from a frustrating lack of imagination, but concludes this beloved saga with fan-focused devotion.”
They must have been smoking the same shit as the writers of that desaster.

Do you think there's more money in some South-American countries than in Greece and Turkey? They're not third world countries.
No. It's not. It's expensive for the people there. I saw people that went to the hotel, but did not go to the concert, because tix were too expensive. I guess it all boils down to what a promoter is willing to pay. If a promoter meets their demands and gives them what they want and sets ticket prices accordingly, being confident that people will pay, even though they don't have the money, GNR will go there. If a promoter is not willing to meet their demands, because he is worried that he won't sell the appropriate amount of tickets at the price the fee the band gets dictates, then he won't book them. Also GNR are playing a festival series in SA (and also played some festivals before). I would assume that makes the calculations a bit different.

It does beat me though who the people going are. Their day at Download didn't sell out in 2018, so who would all these people be that are willing to pay far more to see them on their own a third time round? It makes no sense to me that the same amount of people that wanted to see them in 2017 would want to see them again in 2020- you don't have to a be too insightful to see the anticipation is WAY less, both on here and in the real world, for this show.
Well. All the people who say they hate going to festivals. All the event people, who wouldn't go to a festival for one band. And believe it or not, GNR is still an event. Also it's a saturday. And it's been 2 years, since they where here last. 3 if you go for London. And really, for those event fans, they didn't check setlists and youtube videos daily since 2017. For them it is still fresh. And it's one of the biggest tours ever, so for some maybe that's another incentive to go again (or for the first time). And yes, prices are obscene and I too would wish they would fall flat on their face. But people really have lost all common sense when it comes to what prices are acceptable and what's a rip off. But for the person who goes to 3 concerts per year, it really doesn't make much of a difference.

The economics of it make complete sense, probably a 2/3 full second night would make more money than shifting the whole production down, travel, then back up to another European city.
Is it the spirit of Rock n Roll no, but then is that the key driver.
Take my money...….Yeah. Also the second night is a saturday. That will also help to shift extra. And they are already seeing the business the friday does.

i cant believe they added a 2nd date in london.. it will be totally empty.. really milking this hard...
maybe this cancels the scottish date?
also where is paris? athens? istanbul?
In France, Greece and Turkey?!
I'm sure they are not doing it for shit and giggles. It will be financially viable. Otherwise they wouldn't have added it an hour after the first one went on sale.

I'd rather fuckin' choke than go to that fuckin' wanker stadium with their new fuckin' wanker manager, all set to fuckin' play host to a band full of wankers, led by a fuckin' ginger wanker. Wouldn't piss on it if it was on fire unless I had a bladder full of petrol, fuckin' Tottenham scum.
Well. And everyone buying tickets at that price is a wanker. So perfectly fitting. ;-)

My biggest problem with this show is that it's a festival. Which means shorter setlist filled with the typical hits and 2 CD songs + covers.
I might have went if it was a normal show, but the lineup for Pinkpop is pretty shitty so I think I'll pass.
That's not true. They did the full set also at festivals.

Prices are ridiculous
I need to know if this is a genuinely new show or same NITL with extremely cheap animations in the background (and mickey in the foreground)
Does anyone know?
Axl, Slash and Duff would know. Maybe.

Not paying GC any more. Got to respect yourself at some point.
True. But then I would have to stay home, as I'm not standing in the back. So the solution is either going to festivals or cutting down on shows.

I just re-subscribed to NT (the cheapest package option mind) just so I have the pre-sale access tomorrow, because.. fuck touts
Yeah. I know the feeling. Antsy too. But fuck them. Not giving in again. That said, if someone has a spare code?

I don't think there will be any problem getting tickets to this tour. I'm planning on hanging on and trying to get a discount one nearer the time.
Getting A ticket is never a problem. Getting GC/FOS1 before doors open is a different story.

Them Eagles FOS £500 tixs tho & people saying Guns EE is expensive haha
Duh, both of them are expensive. Just because one other band is even more crazy, doesn't make GNR cheap.

Gold circle is a scam for rich people who want to smell Axl’s jock strap
No, gold circle is a scam to rip off fans who want to see the band with their own eyes and not having to relay on video walls and binoculars. Few of those fans are really rich.

i have a question. I always had Front Of Stage tickets but because of my health, i will buy seat tickets for the first time. I want to buy Munich and Hamburg. Both are in stadions. Should i get seats ticket on the side or seats straight to the stage? what is the best?
If you want to be close, get them on the sides, if you want a straight frontal view, get them in the back. If there is a crap set up, you might have the mixing/lighting tower/booth block your middle view, like what happened to me with U2 in Rome, so for me I will never do seats in a stadium in the back again. Also since it's a stadium, you're far away either way.

So only 13 euro shows? Seems kinda small, doesn’t it?
if they label this as NITL again, I’m going to give up on this band being a real band. What a joke! Especially after Hawaii 2018 and Vegas 2019 were already labeled as “the end of NITL,” respectively.
I want this to be NITL, because I was at that last show in Hawaii and they mightily pissed me off for continuing. Now it just happens that I'm in Dublin, when they do the last show of this run. So fingers crossed.
