It definitely can be interesting how different people can interpret sounds in different ways! Which of course I never wanted that previous post of mine to sound know-it-ally or anything like that lol, I think that especially in Guns N' Roses fandom little rumors or things that fans can say can quickly be repeated by folks and it becomes fact very easily That said, I can hear definitely some stylistic similarities, like definitely some note choices especially in the beginning part not outside of what Brian may pick note-wise on these types of tunes!

It sounds like a different vocal take for sure on the lead vocals, that said it has the same Axl vocal qualities as his late-90s voice he used for Chinese mostly so if I had to take a guess it is still in that timeframe, the Village Session version we have just a different vocal comp or an earlier vocal pass? The low voice on the chorus could be a later addition though, right? Like the low voice on the chorus part of There Was A Time which didn't appear on the early leaked demos we got from it The mix sounds punchy, maybe it is just the speakers from the bar but I am digging the heavy low end bass presence and hope it is like that on the actual mix on our speakers/cans

I dunno, how many die hard GNR fans do we think will flock to a physical bar to play this song, and how many patrons do we think will realistically go "hey that song is great let me look it up on my own time"? lol To me this is either a big mistake and they didn't stop the song from being released to bar jukeboxes like they did the rest of the initial plans for this songs release, or they have no concept of how to properly hype up a release

Listening to the soundcloud page now, Slash's solo sounds fine to me, it seems like folks are already attacking him for his playing but I think it is totally serviceable for the song Granted I really want to hear the actual mix not obscured by the noise and the aspect that it is a recording of a recording, but the note choices I hear are fine

I am not kidding, last night I must have read posts here before I went to bed cause in my dream I was driving and Perhaps came on the Sirius rock channel in my car - I turned to my friend and was like "dude this is the new GNR song!" before realizing on the album title it said "unofficial bootleg" and was the Village Sessions version So not even in my dream is GNR able to release new music

With "The General" seemingly close....
WhazUp replied to Wabby's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I remember "This I Love" was a song hyped up because it was one that Axl mentioned a few times in interviews in the 90s before GNR even broke up, so knowing that was one that was being worked on and it had the strongest ties to the old days was very intriguing to me. When the news came out of Patti Hood working on the harp part, I was like "harp? This must be epic" Finally hearing the song when CD in full leaked a couple of weeks before the release date I remember liking it, but underwhelmed because it is hard for a song to match that level of mystery and hype. But once my expectations were more down to earth I came to love the song for what it is and I still really enjoy it -
I would hope GNR releases music for the same reason all bands do - money is part of the equation in the music industry no doubt but artists make music because that is what artists do, they create art for people to get meaningful interactions from Most other bands in the world who are still active, are finding motivations to still release music so for GNR, saying there is no point to anymore because the business model has changed, would be a pretty silly cop-out if they ever gave that excuse

I mean, to be fair just because Izzy said "they didn't share the fair share of the loot" what does that actually mean? For all we know Izzy wanted a large sum of money to guest appear and not even be an actual member of the band - which is as plausible as him wanting to take Richard's spot full time for as much money as Slash and Duff Unless we have more facts, what you are saying is more or less just making stuff up
