  1. The band has been soundchecking the tune multiple times, the graphics were intentionally made and are there, honestly I am not that worried about it because it seems more of an "if" than "when" thing at this point. If Absurd and Hard Skool didn't come out I would be way more pessimistic. To me the only question is, is August 11th a placeholder for the graphic and we will get the tune later when the actual NA dates start, or will we actually get it on the 11th?
  2. Yeah, while I get what Axl is saying, most of the time that third track is just whenever the lead guitars come in or does little lead fills, that also means for that third guitarist on stage live that leaves a lot of downtime so they either will double other people's parts or add little tiny things here and there just to have something to do Which is cool and all, but I think live having one rhythm and one lead part just makes the sound more direct and easily discernable. I remember when I saw GNR in 2011 and 2012 it was just a wall of guitar sound and you couldn't make out who is doing what - with Slash and Fortus I was able to make them out at all times very clearly
  3. I actually thought as of late HS has been much improved, noticed starting around the Glastonbury stream
  4. My guess is perhaps Axl just was really into his "layers" concept and thought that having more guitarists there to do the different things on the newer material and whatnot would add to the sound. Especially if the rumors are true that he wanted DJ to be a part of the reunion lineup in 2016 I think that is further evidence of him wanting more sound on stage. Which I am so glad they went back to a two-guitarist setup to me it just sounds clearer and less like a wall of sound live That said in retrospect Richard should have taken over as co-lead more when DJ entered the band and DJ more rhythm playing. DJ seemingly took over for Fink and maybe the guitarists found it easier if Richard stuck to the parts he always did, but Richard would have been much better of a lead player covering Slash's solos
  5. The person who initially uploaded the graphic on the site: "perhaps I was wrong"
  6. It may be hurting but not because of the concept of pre-saves lol. Pre-saves are just so you can have it on your streaming library page already when it comes out, so you don't forget about it between then and now.
  7. Yeah its called GarageBand for iOS and it sounds like Hard Skool was mixed on it
  8. This may be a controversial opinion, but I want Slash and Duff (and if they could get Izzy for this) to jam out with some acoustic guitars for a bit. Come up with some cool jams, maybe turn a few into electric full band tunes (like they did with ISE) and have Axl sing over it all. Axl can still rasp it up at points and I am sure in the studio with as many takes and time as needed new vocals wouldn't be a disaster. I think it would be fun hearing some just cool GNR sounding rock tunes from a band that banged them out like a rock band Not that I don't want to hear CD leftovers and what Axl had going on, but the prospect of Slash bringing in a basic song as cool as Anastasia and it being for GNR is a very exciting one to me
  9. I am not sure if they really have to be dumbed down, only really in the cases of Bucket or Bumble doing weird sweep picking things, or various elephant noises, etc. that were never a part of Slash's playing in general - beyond that the songs are fairly harmonically simple and straight forward to my ears as a guitar player. Of course we all have our own preferences, but I would say for the general public AND most GNR fans too, Slash's Les Paul + Marshall + specific way of moving his fingers on the fretboard is just as crucial for it being "GNR" as Axl's voice is. I am not a fan of the way Hard Skool was mixed in its final form and don't like the drums, but hearing Slash's guitars on it really did add this special ingredient to the mix that I think gives legitimacy to the material in the eyes of many
  10. I know there is nothing new in that setlist compared to this recent leg in general, but man I am so happy to see PTU, Bad Obsession, Reckless Life, Anything Goes, and Down on the Farm in the set I have been a big critique of the setlist debacle over the years but if you take all the gradual additions they have made to the set since 2016, this upcoming date I am catching will be a fairly different set to the one I last saw and I am happy about that. Add in Perhaps and you know, beyond just maybe changing the actual order of songs for a change, I am pretty satisfied with how the sets are nowadays
  11. "It’s going to be looked at historically as their best record, I think. You can look at the first records and stuff like that. They have the hits on them. But what is interesting about Chinese Democracy is there’s a lot of him in those songs. He sang a fucking ton about his life, and about life in general in those songs, moreso than just a rock ‘n’ roll song about a fucking drug addict, that kind of thing or “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” There’s a lot more going on there, depth-wise from him, mentally, than those earlier records." I don't know if I agree with Tommy with that. I think Chinese Democracy will always be looked at similarly to what it is currently generally seen as 15 years after its release - not a terrible album by any means, but an album that took way too long to come out, and that is missing the key musical members that up until that point was what made GNR, GNR Don't get me wrong I like the album, but Appetite and the Illusions will always be seen as GNR's best accomplishments and will always be looked at as not just a band in their prime, but a period the band could never live up to afterwords
  12. Man I am glad I got cheap seats for this upcoming US tour on a whim lol I figured hey if anything else I get to hear PTU and Bad Obsession live, but hearing Perhaps will be pretty cool
  13. Hell yeah, actual stuff happening! Keep it up GNR Looking forward to hearing Slash's leads on this as well as how it sounds and what all has been re-recorded
  14. Even if no new music, Pretty Tied Up, Bad Obsession, and Locomotive are worth the price of admission IMO
  15. They have soundchecked Perhaps so as a release it is definitely a "when" question now as opposed to an "if" I think while it may potentially be an indication if Youtube videos of specifically that song are being targeted, I would not take it as a sign that it is coming out this week or any amount of time that is predictable lol
  16. It took another full year until new music from the band Axl was actually in came to fruition?
  17. Ultimately I am not sure if this is Team Brazil's doing, if Axl wanted to do interviews he would be out there doing interviews. And if a management team pushed him to do stuff he didn't want to do, he would get a new management team so yeah for sure TB aren't gonna push the matter themselves, I think the only reason Axl hasn't done interviews is because of Axl
  18. I remember really liking his interviewing style especially with Robert Plant and Geddy Lee/Alex Lifeson. I stopped paying attention to him at the time of some allegations that came his way a few years ago so I am not sure what he is up to nowadays, but based on the lack of his celebrity interviews being recent I am guessing the public eye wants nothing to do with him lol
  19. Anyways back on the topic of interviews, I think regarding longer form interviews with Axl, considering Axl hasn't done many the past 20 years I would want a interviewer who would actually ask musical questions. Back when I tuned into his show rarely, I found Joe's enterviews with Maynard James Keenan for example somewhat entertaining but not for musical reasons The problem is, beyond Marc Maron who I brought up previously, are there any relatively big name people with interview podcasts/shows nowadays who would be able to dig deep musically and ask Axl about things we have always wondered about?
  20. "Brainwashed sheep" well I can check that off the "independent thinkers who just so happen to believe everything OAN tells them" Bingo card if you next rant about "PC culture" or use the term "woke" unironically, I think I got a clean sweep I also find it ironic that "it is best to ignore them" is your advice when you went out of your way to quote a 5-month old post of mine to go off about and making wrong assumptions with lol
  21. Ah the whole "I am making a video of myself talking so you know it is genuine even though I could have just typed things like I did in all the messages regarding this issue previously" thing I respect the dude's guitar playing but this is more cringeworhy than seeing the Puddle of Mudd guy try and cover a Nirvana song
  22. Yeah, the "not as simple" part is called Axl Rose. There you got your answer
  23. I think a lot of people need to realize that we don't need to tear one down to built another up. Nuno is a great guitarist, Richard is a great guitarist, and they both excel and have succesful careers doing different things Nuno saying something a bit wonky doesn't detract from that, and to me doing the whole "Richard hasn't had a hit of his own" or "Nuno is only known for being a part of a one-hit wonder band" to me is pointless. Any guitar player would kill to be in either of their positions in terms of oppurtunities and financially And getting the Rihanna gig is pretty sweet, I would no hesistation jump at the chance to be able to do that
