  1. I can't believe people are saying that's not Slash on The General. It's literally his signature sound with the wah. If it's not him, it's a Nu Guns player trying to copy his exact set up and style.
  2. I have to give my honest opinion on these songs. After plenty of listens, I still feel meh about them. I'm not sure they'll ever be played live as they'd be a real set/mood killer. I think I find it hard as the songs are both 100% Axl solo songs featuring Slash and Duff. Like all CD era songs, they aren't really guitar driven. No big riffs or anything like that. I think it's time for me to accept the fact that this band is no longer for me creatively unless they're willing to write an album together.
  3. It's Slash on lead guitar on TG. I know you guys don't particularly like him... But it's him.
  4. Has it become cool for CD fans to dismiss AFD and the original band as some cliche cock rock band? So much nonsense comments
  5. I do hope that this is the last of the reworks. These songs ain't my cup of tea at all. However, I can hear the potential of Axls voice and Slash's guitar. Hopefully one day they'll strip it back a lot and do some rock songs.
  6. I wonder how many non forum readers are out there that bought this and haven't been contacted at all....
  7. At the end of the day, it's all completely Axls fault. Once he wrestled full control of the band for himself, all of these things have become the norm. Silence, no communication, NDA's, failure to release music, delays, no promotion. I have a feeling we'll never quite understand why these things are so difficult for him and so simple for everyone else, including his own band members on their own projects
  8. It's not just this 1 delay though. CD took years and years to come out and by all accounts Axl still didn't want it to. They apparently had lots of material for a follow up but 15 years later we still haven't heard it. Perhaps was delayed by a week and eventually we all heard it first as a leak from the Jukebox. The General is the most anticipated song of the last 15 years or so and its a vinyl only b side that gets delayed. If there is a CD or a digital release coming, just announce it now
  9. I can totally understand people cancelling. It's not that they don't want the song, it's the complete loss of confidence in the band to do things right. Will December 8th or whatever it is even happen? Will it leak on a jukebox? Or a radio station accidentally play it? Why did it take so long to communicate the delay? I really have no confidence now that this will come out in December.
  10. Axl should maybe speak to Slash and see if his management and connections can take over going forward. He always managed to put out product in a timely manner over the years regardless of the format
  11. It's obvious they're just holding it back so they promote a new surprise album before Christmas. Right?
  12. People did ask the band's manager if the song would be released digitally and he just said Perhaps. He could have just said Yes, No, Maybe later, Don't know but he had to try to be funny. These guys could clarify a lot of things if they really wanted.
  13. There's a part of me now wondering whether Axl is just very insecure about this song and that's why it's a low key B side. The song kind of became epic because of its title which was later confirmed to be linked to Chinese food and the new title seems a bit more lame anyways. Fernando called it a monster but he was probably more referring to the actual title of General and Monsters. Bach is always very over enthusiastic. I wonder if it is genuinely just a standard song that somehow kind of managed to get legendary status. God I wish they'd just get it out so we know for sure
  14. I don't get why people defend the band in these situations. They set themselves up for failure time and time again by not communicating anything. I don't think there's any other band that has this many issues releasing a song. For most other bands they'd just pick a release date, communicate it, clarify any confusion, release.
  15. It's only a matter of time until someone gets their vinyl and rips a copy and then we'll all be listening to that version. Probably not what the band intended but that's what'll happen.
