At the end of the day, it's all completely Axls fault. Once he wrestled full control of the band for himself, all of these things have become the norm. Silence, no communication, NDA's, failure to release music, delays, no promotion. I have a feeling we'll never quite understand why these things are so difficult for him and so simple for everyone else, including his own band members on their own projects

It's not just this 1 delay though. CD took years and years to come out and by all accounts Axl still didn't want it to. They apparently had lots of material for a follow up but 15 years later we still haven't heard it. Perhaps was delayed by a week and eventually we all heard it first as a leak from the Jukebox. The General is the most anticipated song of the last 15 years or so and its a vinyl only b side that gets delayed. If there is a CD or a digital release coming, just announce it now

I can totally understand people cancelling. It's not that they don't want the song, it's the complete loss of confidence in the band to do things right. Will December 8th or whatever it is even happen? Will it leak on a jukebox? Or a radio station accidentally play it? Why did it take so long to communicate the delay? I really have no confidence now that this will come out in December.

Atlas Shrugged (November Release?)

There's a part of me now wondering whether Axl is just very insecure about this song and that's why it's a low key B side. The song kind of became epic because of its title which was later confirmed to be linked to Chinese food and the new title seems a bit more lame anyways. Fernando called it a monster but he was probably more referring to the actual title of General and Monsters. Bach is always very over enthusiastic. I wonder if it is genuinely just a standard song that somehow kind of managed to get legendary status. God I wish they'd just get it out so we know for sure

I don't get why people defend the band in these situations. They set themselves up for failure time and time again by not communicating anything. I don't think there's any other band that has this many issues releasing a song. For most other bands they'd just pick a release date, communicate it, clarify any confusion, release.

What's becoming clear is that the first time most of us hear this song will probably be pretty poor quality rip. I guess Slash was 100% serious when he said they're not actually sure how to release music. Hopefully if they ever release anything else they just pick a date and release it digitally like normal people. No jukeboxes, vinyl only nonsense
