Tour is (almost) over - where do we go now?
JAxlMorrison replied to adamsapple's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I have a new theory with absolutely no basis in rumor or fact…Axl will spend some of the time off touring recording his return as a radio DJ in GTA VI! -

Gotta be honest, I haven’t known who this Schenker guy was this whole time. -

Just thinking about it a little, realized that no matter how much some posters may complain about axl’s vocals, Frank’s drums, the setlist, etc. We’re all gonna be pretty bored during this upcoming long break. -

Enjoy! While it may not “technically” be the best GNR show I’ve seen from 2006-now, the atmosphere was insane, excited and tense. And to see that version of the band perform, and to be there for the debut of 3 more new ChiDem tracks? There was a lotta hope in the air for the future, the IMMEDIATE future. -

Is the idea behind that, that everything is just going to on demand, or are we going back to DVDs lol. -

I dunno, a Blu Ray with Axl and Slash? I gotta figure it would sell well, especially since Appetite For Democracy sold well (for a concert blu ray anyways.) -

I didn’t have a problem with Rocket Queen, in fact it was a favorite to see live! Then Slash returned and it became 17 minutes long haha. -

Not that I’m aware, but I was watching some of the bootleg earlier. -

The problem with a Chinese Leftovers type album is there’s a negative perception out there about CD, and a negative perception overall about the “leftovers,” because Slash and Duff didn’t sit in a room with Axl and come up with them. Casual fans are dumb though. When I’m feeling feisty, I’ll try to explain hey, if these are ChiDem rejects then you’d have to consider Don’t Cry, YCBM, and November Rain “Appetite rejects.” so yeah…they need to somehow get past that perception that these songs “weren’t good enough” before. Cause that’s what all the snide comments I read say. -

Ok, Houston or LA 2016 right? That’s pretty much the consensus around here? Im saying, the date and year doesn’t matter. It would just be promoted as FIRST BLU RAY FOR THE REUNITED TRIO, as they play the hits that made the famous!!!! Etc. Most consumers wouldn’t care which leg of the tour it came from. Sucks. Man would I cherish a Blu Ray from Atlantic City in 2012. -
So, I was there (and what an amazing show and comeback.) We got the 3 ChiDem songs from 2001-2002 shows, and we got 3 debuts (Better, TWAT, IRS.) But I noticed after that show, there’d normally be less of those “new” songs, as they relied more on Appetite like in 2002. Anyone have an idea why that was the case, in a year that was initially meant to promote the release of the album? I’m asking cause I was happy as hell that night, and hearing almost half the album live, to me it was a sign back then like, ok the band’s evolving, moving on, and we’re gonna move into this new era of songs (which never happened, and I don’t think 6 ChiDem songs were played at a single show the rest of that run, and maybe not again til the end of 2009.) Don’t get me wrong, I love My Michelle, Out Ta Get Me, Think about You, but when they’d start at a show, I’d kinda roll my eyes inside and think, cmon man. Let’s move on and get some more of that new stuff.

93 Chicago? Do you mean 92 with Coma? Or is there a 93 one I’m not thinking of? -

I might be in the minority here, but does anyone else not care if they release any more 1987-1991 shows? We got the Ritz, ok cool. Let’s see some 1993, 2006, 2010 etc. -

Led Zeppelin reunion show was in 2007. Blu ray and CD release was five years later. Blu rays etc capture a moment in time. It’s not necessary to release them IMMEDIATELY or anything. -
Like Amir, I was at the AC 2012 show. And yes they didn’t come on til midnight ish, but it was the perfect set list for that time, place, and version of the band. They rocked it til close to 3:30 AM, and the crowds energy never waned. The amount of folks singing along to the “new” songs was great too. Still my favorite, and I’ve seen them quite a few times since 2016. Closest show in quality was AC, again, in 2021.

The General Vocals
JAxlMorrison replied to 2020_Intensions's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
The Virginia tech shooter wrote a short story called Mr. brownstone, so yeah, it must’ve been written and vocally recorded after that shooting. I’d guess probably somewhere in the second half of 2007 based on that info. -
Hadn’t seen this mentioned yet, but This I Love from the guitar solo to the end really saved the song for me, and I think that’s up there with “GNR” recorded music “moments.” That being said though, each time I play the entire 9 mins of General/Monsters, I’m waiting for that ending with Axl’s angry vocals and Slash (or fortus) crushing the solo.

Azoff is definitely villainized for the reunion push, and the scuttlebutt about how he was the reason Robin left the band, but he and his partner were brought in to make the ChiDem release happen, and they did. They do deserve some kudos for that. Plus didn’t the deal they made get the label and Axl all paid back?

Hershey in 2021 was the first time I ever saw him skip lines on you could be mine, and motion for the crowd to sing them…that was hard to see haha. That show overall was ROUGH. But since then I’ve been to the AC show in 2021 (GREAT!,) and Hershey again back in August (fun! He had his troubles but they didn’t hurt the overall show.) Bummed I saw a show before Perhaps was added though. -

I see. To add to your obsession with crapping on everything GNR (clearly for attention, since you’re begging for a reaction on a GNR message board,) now you’re gonna obsess over that quote. Might wanna make an appointment to get yourself analyzed. Could be a problem! -

Jeez, is that an AI generated article, or was it written by a first year high school journalism student? It reads very…strangely . -

I’m doing great. I don’t spend my time throwing cold water on other people’s enjoyment of something. In fact, I don’t spend hours and days watching or commenting on anything I don’t like. It’s wonderful.
