Looking at some of these stadiums that GNR will play in this summer...It has me wondering if they can really sell those beasts out to max capacity? these are mega stadiums... I know they can pull this off because they have done it before...but would'nt it make more since to release a small EP of new songs similar to Lies? I love that they're motivated to sell out mega stadiums again...maybe they will release something before July...still some months to go before the big tour starts.

That's what I keep saying! The venues are fucking massive haha. I can't imagine what kind of stage design they're gonna have.... it's new territory for the band for sure. Stadium shows now are a lot different than 25 years ago.

I can't afford to get presale tickets for the Seattle show but I don't feel like it'll be hard to get 'em a little later... I mean, 40,000... 50,000 tickets?? Especially if it's just the UYI tour over again.

    That's me.

Dude I love your channel! I learned What Do You Want To Be and Avalon! For the most part.... haha

Edit: You should do some GNR related lessons along with the Slash stuff. Most GNR guitar lessons don't get the parts right or don't have the right feel :(. I know it's a lot of work, though. Keep rockin!

my first thought last night before they hit the stage was that Slash appeared depressed in the backstage photos that leaked online. his face, posture, everything was sluggish and kinda hard a dark undertone IMO.

IF he's indeed currently depressed, there's two big factors that could be at work - first, his ongoing divorce process and second, his ongoing grief process about Lemmy's death (Slash has stated how deeply this is affecting him).

when you consider the above plus add in his likely apprehension/anxiety/fear (whatever you want to call it) about rejoining Axl, it wouldn't be a surprise to me that he's carrying a very heavy heart mixed with a lot of conflicting feelings about what he's decided to do (at least for now anyway).

i believe Slash will take things with this current incarnation of 'GNR' on a day-to-day basis where he won't be afraid to pull out if he feels it's in his best interest.

Plus he never really did the GNR thing sober, right?

I mean freshly divorced, GNR is starting up again, the pressure to relapse must be huge. Way bigger than when VR got going.

Tom Petty was also kidding, she had a huge solo career. That would be like people thinking Eddie Van Halen was going to really join KISS.

;) Just thought it was funny

Personally I'm not torn up about a girl being in the band if she has the chops, despite the escalated potential for drama (just from the sexual dynamics, not because I think women are dramatic haha). That said, I'm always in the less is more camp with respect to auxiliary musicians, keyboards, synths, samples and all that jazz. Pittman seriously rubbed me the wrong way as fan, so if the position needed to be filled with someone, may as well be her.

If Slash and Duff are okay with it then I trust 'em.

It was kind of cool to see them back together again last night, but also a bit of an anti-climax if I'm truly honest. The only way I would've felt pumped about this reunion is if they'd done a new album first and then went out in support of it. Anything else is just transparent cashgrabbing.

I think there's still room for more to come here. I mean they're doing a STADIUM tour.... that's a huge production. To hold the attention of 40,000-50,000 people.... they've gotta have some more up their sleeves, right?

Can they really do successful stadium run if it's just the UYI tour again?

  6. Funny thing to consider is the amount of lyrics he'd have to remember.

He needs prompters for GNR songs... let alone a bunch of random AC/DC.

I guess the new stuff is pretty easy....

In rock we trust, it's rock or bust
In rock we trust, it's rock or bust
In rock n' roll (oh shit...) we trust, it's rock or bust
In rock we trust, it's rock or bust

Disagree. I think of all the guys he gives the least interesting answers. Slash & Axl are much more well spoken than duff. Duff never looks comfortable in interviews and has a harder time gathering his thoughts and expressing himself. He's Always been that way. He's better now that he sober though

Yea McBob. He did VR too and his Brother Tom stayed on with Axl's gnr

Did you ever see this one? I liked it a lot.

  8. I'm super excited...

This is what I've wanted more or less (barring nitpicking about the final lineup) since I joined this forum in 2004 (jesus). I wish they were coming to Vancouver.... but I'll make it to Seattle.

Hell, I'm curious now to see if Slash and Duff can put some swagger in the CD songs that get played. May as well find the silver lining :). It'll be cool if Slash and Duff get a chance to speak on the mic for the first show, too.

My continued interest and support is based on Axl's voice and eventually whether they release new music. If GNR had reunited in 2012, with Axl's voice of 2012, I'd prolly have checked out by now.

  9. I feel like maybe Axl found a really good vocal coach, or had some kind of surgery.... or just figured some kind of shit out with respect to rasp.

He knows about it for sure (mickey)... he has to..... and there's no way he'd go in front of an american 60,000 person audience of fans of another band with anything less than 2010 vocals. Would he??

  10. Since it seems like so many people have inside scoops.... I'd love to have a ballpark on the Seattle date. I need to start planning now! Time off work, book a train... I gotta get a new passport... the perils of rock n' roll decadence (that was lame).

And if Adler is there for the whole tour, in some capacity, I'd be so impressed with the Axl, Steven, the rest of the band and life in general.
