  1. I never in a million years thought id see people complaining about a guns n roses lineup that finally involves axl slash and duff...

I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. I haven't complained.. But Slash and Duff have been playing together forever.. If Axl comes out looking and sounding like shit, is it really that special? I don't really think so. Anything closer to the classic lineups would make it better.

If it is just Duff and Slash joining Axl's remaining band for a tour and Axl sounding like he has the last 5 years, that also wouldn't be that great. I watch these videos with Frank in them and they are awful. I really don't like his drumming style for Guns N' Roses songs. Are there still going to be two keyboardists?

If Axl somehow comes out sounding awesome then yes it will be cool to have just him, Duff and Slash onstage again. If he doesn't, then this might be a little too late.. Ten years too late.. I was just watching videos from 2006.. That is the Axl we need to make this thing work. Not the one of the last 5 years.. Or maybe even 2010 Axl.. He didn't seem to have the stage presence but the voice was still there.

I guess it is all speculation at this point...

I hate his drumming too and I can't even figure out why, haha. I dunno... but it sucks.

Adler has groove, Matt has some thunderous power.... Frank....

  2. after seeing that pic of Axl yesterday, I honestly doubt Al can pull this through.

    He never looked worse.

Where did he practice for the reunion tour, kitchen?

    He definitely has looked worse.

For fuck's sake, have some of you ever gone for a run? You look like SHIT during and after. And he's got a little pudge left but nowhere near the fattest we've seen him. On top of it, the man is in his mid-50's. Not everyone can age like Lenny Kravitz.

And with that, I'm done commenting on Axl's appearance (at least until next week, lol).

to answer your question - yes.

as a matter of fact I train different sports and cardiom practices almost every day in the last 20 years.

you can defend his looks all the way from Europe to Mexico, but the guy looks worse, fatter, sicker hen ever in the past 10 years.

he looks like he ate Gilby, Duff and Matt at a rehersal at once.

and no...it doesn't take a genious to see that.

If that pic is genuine, this is going to be another disaster… another botched comeback.

    Geeezzzz Louise! Oh Lawd!

The guy has the cash to eat the healthiest foods, have the best personal trainers and the time to get in shape.

Otherwise he's just a lazy son of a gun and a gun of a son.

    No excuses

is it inconceivable that perhaps this is the beginning of his training to get back in shape?

he is on a jog in that picture. he has three months to get in shape. let's give him a little bit of slack.

He COULD be healthier than most 30 year olds. I'm just longing for the best possible outcome after all these years…

Right? Like, unless there's some underlying health issues.... but honestly he should be open about it.... doesn't need to be specific. Fans would be super supportive!

Otherwise, get the fuck in shape! The world is yours for the taking... go out on high... David Lee Roth at Axl's age was shredded haha.... Iggy Pop... Anthony Keidis.... It's not like picking on a fat kid on a schoolyard.... Axl set the bar and I hope he reaches for it... just the energy from that struggle would power the music.

Kale Salads and HIIT for a year and live in pride and reverence for the rest of your damn life!

  3. Like... would Axl do this if his voice wasn't on point? Would he do it just to give closure even his voice is a raspless shell of the glory days? I want to believe but... I'm so scared.

If it's not 2010 good I'm gonna be so crushed. GNR was always differentiated from being the sad eternally touring nostalgia trip that characterizes basically every 80's band. Don't kill your legacy.

Is this whole thing stressing anyone else out?! Haha.

  4. He's right about 'jizz da pit' though, I don't get why it's so loved on the forums. Safari Inn is Slash's only decent instrumental (other than Godfather Theme), 'watch this' and 'jpd' were pretty bad. (I think there's an acoustic song I'm missing but if so, obviously it was forgettable).

also, the title 'Jizz Da Pit'

    Funny review overall tho

Watch This? Really? I thought that was a pretty cool one.... Never listen to JDP, though... not a fan of that one. Love the vibe of the first snakepit album, though.

GNR's third LP coulda been a monster!

  5. Man I wish I coulda designed them... I'd have done it pro-bono, too. There's some really cool designs floating around out there. The positioning and the color choices aren't great on most of 'em....

    88tourtshirt.jpg

That one would be so awesome... except maybe ditch the girl and just have the tour dates and scrawl of GNR was here since it's pretty offensive haha. Something with the Greatest Hits grey color palette would be nice as well.

But you get into the fan club if you buy any of the t-shirts? If it means priority ticket sales for a reunion I might get the 92/93 tour one... even though it has a funny lineup.... skeleton Dizzy Matt and Gilby....

  6. This is lame. Powerful lame.

Also the guitar in the NR video is Joe Perry's who currently has possession of it and its worth insane amounts of cash. That thing in the display case is some kinda imitation.

That is what I thought. I recalled an interview in which Slash said he gave the guitar back to Perry (I think Perry sold him it for drugs and later came to regret the decision).

damn joe perry was struggling like that?

  7. Izzy's importance grows the older the guys get and as the flash of youth and danger flames out. He's the musical soul of GNR.

I'll still line up to see the OP's mentioned lineup but it's not a true reunion. And there's zero chance of a compelling new album w/o Izzy's involvement... even some of VR's best moments are Izzy inspired.

I'm consistently blown away by how some GNR superfans don't recognize his hands as being all over 90% of the bands noteworthy material. That, and the funky loose dynamic Duff and him helped to establish with Steven that made Slash's playing so raunchy. It's why you love AFD so much! It's what separated them from all the generic trash that was around!

Dear GNR: Do less shows with a sober Izzy (if a grueling tour is the sticking point) instead of trying to maximize cash return. Your legacies will benefit greatly :D.
