I doubt it, though. Slash's solo tours the rhythm guitar is non-existant... in VR I could never hear Dave Kushner....

Sucks 'cause the interplay is part of the GNR sound. The only time I heard Gilby was on Wild Horses and the Nightrain solo. 

I gotta say... Marc Storace from Krokus.... he doesn't have the star power, I guess, but he sounds like Bon Scott. 

It bugs me when people look down their nose at AC/DC. Tight as fuck! Chuck berry on steroids. They're so fun.... even funner to play. And yet most AC/DC covers suck ass.... there's a reason. Not as easy as it sounds. I'm in my 20's and people at work treat me like I'm a baby boomer. Get over yourself!

I bet if they open with Jungle the crowd sings louder than the band for most of the song.

Axl's voice would need to be so on point! AC/DC is bigger than GNR in terms of stadium draw... and the fans there won't be sympathetic and doped up on GNR nostalgia like we will be.

It's kinda funny that you would deliberately not expose yourself to something because you might like it and it might change your views! That's not a good way to operate!

I may be pessimistic but I don't think the 30th anniversary is going to be much different than the 20th or 25th. 

Generally I feel songs are like fruit.

They start out a little rough.... work on em a little... they ripen.... hit the sweet spot... but if you keep tinkering they rot and get away from themselves. I think working on songs from CD is a mistake.

I'm happy to be wrong, though!

Izzy brought the loose, stonesy rhythm.... it's such a distinct part about what made them cool in the era of 80's glam metal. And his voice rocks!

And honestly, they'd do well to lean on that aspect of their music now that they're older.  The pounding heavy metal UYI vibe isn't as interesting... isn't as unique... and ultimately is less effective without youthful energy and swagger. 

Meanwhile grooving out is harder to do and watching something like Shine a Light... you can sustain that shit a lot longer and remain a credible artistic force. 

We should take out a NYT ad...

Maybe saying he would like to be is too combative if negotiations are ongoing. 

This seems really cut and dry to me... it sounds like he wants to / would be involved but is presently not. Like previously stated, he did not categorically shut it down... lots of qualified little statements....

Bummer is I feel like its a money thing... like they won't give him a % or something... Even if you're not driven by money, it's insulting to be made contractually smaller than your peers when you wrote half the songs they're living off of. This is now wild speculation on my part haha.... but it's a shame because it felt like on this forum there was a sense of confidence he was a lock for at least Vegas. 

I cannot stress how much Izzy being involved matters to me as a member of the GNR fan 1%. I want to shout it from the rooftops.

Sounds like he wants more cash.... negotiations ongoing kind of thing... garner some public support...
