  1. Funny how Monsters is actually what we thought The General was and The General is a whole other thing.
  2. I think it's also his sponsorship deals, etc... Let's say he used a vintage Gibson Les Paul custom shop, a Marshall JCM800, with a Cry Baby wah pedal and whatever (I have no idea if he did, just an example). Now he uses a Slash Signature™ Les Paul and with a Slash Signature™ Marshall amp and a Slash Signature™ Wah pedal. It's what always happens to musicians after they get huge. They become a fabricated version of what they used to be. They're not genuine anymore, they become a sort of cliché of themselves, to profit on the image their fans have of them and create an iconic image for themselves while selling their products. I don't blame Slash. I'd do the same thing.
  3. Yes! Plus King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard released their second album of the year today. Really digging it.
  4. Just watched the latest episode. By far the best one yet. Now I'm actually excited for the next one
  5. Yes, I don't get why they think secrecy is any good in 2023. Secrecy is not a good strategy in regard to their relationship with their fandom, it's not a good marketing strategy for media coverage of their upcoming stuff, it's probably just a way for them to not deal with backlash for their incompetence, like these delays and cancellations. However, if they wanted secrecy, they shouldn't have put The General as the B-side of the perhaps single on their official website. Damn.
  6. Since 2016, my band has released 4 albums, 4 EPs, 1 live bootleg and we're currently mixing another EP, with a new album set for late next year. In the midst of this, we've had to change drummers twice. We released our last album on vinyl, all of our albums on CD and two of them on cassette. Our budget for an album is under 5k USD, and the last two albums have mixing that I consider to be at the level of Absurd, Hard Skool and Perhaps. It really shows how it's all Axl + management. A mix of not moving a finger to do anything new and incompetence whenever they do it. It's impressive, really. They're so dysfunctional, they can't release their second physical single in 15 years.
  7. Just cut my hair and the barber also trimmed by beard without asking first. I was too shy to tell him to stop. My wife is gonna be pissssseeeeeed tonight when she gets home
  8. Their new album, The Silver Chord, came out today. Very different. Love how the extended versions of the songs connect to their last album’s. Ordered the special extended version on vinyl. Expect it to arrive sooner than The General 😂
  9. I havent watched the latest episode yet but so far for me its a mixed bag. Had a good first episode, a terrible second episode and a really fun third one. Almost gave up watching after the second though 😂
  10. Thanks! Please update us on this, if possible. I won’t be home for the intirety of december, I won’t be able to physically receive the record if it arrives in december
  11. In the US. Still - it could only be obtained by purchasing the physical copy of that OST for over 7 years.
  12. They should've made a proper single announcement before the release. Ideally, it would have been when they put the perhaps single for pre-sale. It would've been a more honest approach like "this is a vinyl-only release" or "The General is coming out everywhere on October 27th", or whatever. Just make things clear. I don't get how it would damage them in any way. People would either prioritze buying the vinyl or pre-save the track on their streaming platforms, etc... I can see the appeal of a surprise release, but it's not really a surprise if you have listed it as a B-Side to the previous single on vinyl. It's just confirmation. Oh well... sometimes even I manage my band better than these guys manage a behemoth like GnR
  13. Then it was released on streaming but like 7 years after it was exclusively available on that particular soundtrack
  14. Just remembered: GnR released Oh My God, their first single in 5 years at the time, as a track in the official motion picture soundtrack for the critically-panned and commercially unsuccesful movie, End of Days. And it still is not officially available in any other format, including streaming
  15. I love this song. Been trying to get it on vinyl for ages. But bands expect this to happen. They don't release vinyl-exclusive songs thinking "people are gonna be forced to buy the records and it will sell so much more", it's more like "diehards will have this hidden gem for them, it will be a collector's item, it will receive kind of a cult status"
  16. This version of Absurd is, technically, a vinyl exclusive, isn't it? BTW, anyone know which concert this is from?
  17. I don't think it's the point, actually. When a band releases a vinyl-exclusive, it's not only to boost vinyl sales, but to make the song a rarity, a hidden gem, etc... like a present to diehards and vinyl collectors.
  18. The only reason it would be really strange for them to release The General as an vinyl-only release is because they know fans are desperate for new music and it would really piss 'em off, especially being The General, which has gotten this special mythical status after Sebastian Bach's comments and all. But if it were a normal band, that releases new music in a normal timespan, it would have been a good move to make it vinyl-only. Normal bands do this quite often. It's not that out of this world. But yeah, if GnR did that, especially with this song, it would be a dick move
