  1. Wow I can't help but hope this puts TB out of the picture. With proper management, this band can, maybe, just maybe, function properly? Who knows?
  2. This is me, basically (I have not yet seen The Marvels, though)
  3. I had never heard of Magnatone before this Slash thing.
  4. What I think is happening is not only are they spreading too thin and losing quality control by releasing over 4 movies per year + Disney+ shows, there are some major issues: They haven't made "stepping stone" Avengers Projects - things are loose for 5+ years til Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars It's too hard for new fans to get on the bandwagon at this point - you gotta watch like 7 movies and 3 shows to understand the upcoming movie They release so much stuff, there's not a lot of excitement towards their new stuff Movies got too wacky and comedy-based for a while Not every project has to contribute to the main Kang story arch and set up the next movies. Two of their best materials since Endgame were not focused on the greater story of Kang, time travel, etc... They thought they could make movies and series about every character they have the right to, resulting in some pretty boring stuff. Now that they realized they were going on the wrong path, they have all this material to put out that is already finished, and they seem not to be willing to Batgirl them to try to fix the direction of the studio as soon as possible. That Loki finale was amazing but if Marvel doesn't get their shit together for next years, thing might start to get irreversible for them.

  6. Great cover! Excellent work all around, but especially love how you got the smallest nuances of the bass parts. Congratulations!
  7. Really? All I heard is people saying it's too rushed, like they cut down the movie so much to make it dynamic that it feels like some important things were left out.
  8. Five: 2010, 2011 and three in 2014. Haven't been to one since then.
  9. The whole experience of listenign to vinyl is ritualistic, it goes beyond the record itself. People enjoy upgrading their turntables, stylus, cartridge, amps, preamps, speakers, etc... There's a whole hobby around record collecting. Not only that, but the ritual of putting on a record and actually listening to it, and not treating music like a digital file made to serve as background noise for other activities, is something people can enjoy. Plus, most modern vinyls aren't made from the same digital files you can listen to on Spotify or whatever, most records from big and/or specialized record labels and bands feature made-for-vinyl mastering, that adapts the songs to this particular media. I, myself, don't exclusively listen to music on vinyl, but if I have the vinyl version and am at home, I sure as hell will opt for listening through my record.
  10. As long as there are music collectors, there will be vinyl. It's not really a fad as vinyl never really died, it just held on while CD and other medias didn't. Vinyl has been popular for quite a while now, I don't think it's going anywhere.
  11. This one doesn't speak to me at all. Shotgun Blues-level track. And the whole school theme, with the bells and that artwork, just makes me cringe. Probably the strongest one so far. Really enjoy it. But I agree the solo is so meh it's insulting. They should have extended the song in order to have a more epic solo. This is where is completely disagree. "Times are dark enough already" - art is a reflection of the times. Music isn't supposed to make you happy. It isn't supposed to brighten your day. Music is art. It's supposed to make you think. Sometimes, it's dark, sometimes it's not. Times have always been dark. There was no period of humanity this couldn't be stated. You should listen to some doom metal. Makes this song feel like a walk in the park, in comparison.\ "Survivors don’t whine. They inspire and lead by example." - This is such a problematic phrase, I don't even know how to begin here. Survivors do whatever they want. They do whatever helps them move on. It's not about leading or giving example. It's about them, not the others. When you go through something horrible, you have all the right in the world to put yourself in first place, to think about your own well being. Music is the form of expression Axl and co, and so many other people, use to do this. It's therapy. Making music about traumatic events is nothing new, and it's completely viable. Agree - it's horrible. Nothing else to say here. Trash. So far, one of my favourites, along with Perhaps. Great track. These songs were not written by the current line-up, and were mostly written by one or two members of the line-up from 20 years ago, and shown to Axl after it was almost finished, for him to record vocals. This is barely a product of teamwork and group songwriting. It reflects on the music. I agree, it would be great to have something that was actually done by a group of musicians working together in a studio. So far, I'd say: Great - Perhaps and Monsters Good - The General Weak - Hardskool Horrible - Absurd
  12. At this point, I feel as this is the natural state of these forums. In a few weeks we'll be having heated debates about the smallest things like Slash's new tattoo and Fernando's Land Rover.
  13. I think this is exactly how an iconic guitar player slowly looses his signature tone: First, they stop using their original guitars to use replicas of their most iconic one, or even their signature series. Then, they ditch the original pedals they used for a sponsored brand or a signature line. Finally, they get new sponsored amps or, like before, their own signature line. Combine the change of guitar, pedals and amps, you can get a different tone, even if they're specifically designed to recreate your sound. Hope this is not the case. It happened a lot throughout rock history.
  14. I thought it was the single best MCU thing put out since... IDK... Endgame, at least
  15. Sorry to bring this up again but fuck... THIS IS PERFECT! Axl's singing is the best I've even seen, Robin playing his own solo with his passionate playing, BBF nailing Bucket's solo note per note, everything is just spot on. Man, if I had the chance to go back in time and go to one GnR concert, this might have been it.
  16. Man, people are saying the worst things about The Marvels. Its gonna flop so much. And worse - it seems like a very bad movie, according to reviews.
  17. That concert had the best TWAT ever, IMO. Perfect vocals, amazing solo, everything about it was perfect.
  18. I don't expect a new album at all, but I'm "fine" with getting CD2 singles from time to time, and by "fine" I mean I have drastically lowered my expectations by now.
  19. It'd be spectacular! But I think Slash doesn't really bother
  20. No one needs to be a singer or musician to give their opinion. No one needs to me more "successful" than Axl to give their opinion. No one needs to sing higher or have the same age as Axl to give their opinion. It just happens that Justin Hawkins is the lead singer of a successful band, who sings very well. So yeah, the dude knows what he's talking about, ESPECIALLY in this case. And funny enough, some people are angry he gave his opinion
  21. IMO, it's the best Slash solo song ever. I love it so much. But Rod's vocals just fit in so perfectly, sounds like an Elton John song, almost.
  22. I like Nothing. I'd be pleased to hear a finalised version. Gives me the same vibes (but obviously not nearly as good of a song) as Zep's D'yer M'aker.
