  1. My biggest fear with this song (aside from the certain disappointment we’ll all face) is that they could have transformed the song into something that aligns with the current image of GnR: Retro stadium rock with a nostalgic appeal. This might have made the sing shorter, might have stripped it down and taken away the orchestral work, might’ve stripped it into a more shallow guitar rock (hard skool) kinda of vibe. This would suck a lot.
  2. "I think this pretty much ensures CD2 will be released this year" - 664 weeks ago (early February, 2012 )
  3. I absolutely love Ozzy's Patient No.9. It's one of my favourite albums of 2022. Hackney Diamond is also very solid, with very nice production, IMO. It would be amazing to have this level of production in the """"next GnR album"""" but IF we ever get a new album, and that's a big IF, I think we'll likely get someone like Fernando's producer friend or whatever
  4. Yes, I know. I'm just aligning my expectations with reality - it's probably gonna sound a bit like the Evader version, in some level.
  5. Just listened to the Cellphone clip for the first time in ages. I sounds a lot like the Evader version.
  6. Picked this one up at No.9 Carmaby Street, in London. So happy I got it. Gotta clean my record player, lol
  7. Yeah, it's a very simple riff, nothing too special. Most likely a coincidence. There must be a thousand similar-sounding riffs.
  8. Libertad has some great tracks. She Builds Quick Machines, Gravedancer, Get Out The Door and The Last Fight are amazing, A+ tier material. But, IMO, then you get a bunch of filler mediocre songs like Spay, She Mine, American Man, For A Brother, etc... that just sound like they didn't really care and were just writing stuff to transform an EP into an album. Add that to the fact the production is quite different than Contraband's style, with a leaner and cleaner sound, lighter guitars and louder vocals, I think fans of the original album were kinda turned off by how the first singles sounded. I imagine all of this happened due to the growing tensions in the band, the fact they weren't aligned on the type of band they wanted to be and, most likely, the label didn't feel like it was a good idea to promote the album as much, probably not only because of these growing tensions and uncertainties, but also because they probably thought it was an overall weaker album. There is no Fall To Pieces-style "power" ballads here. The only "ballads" are the Elton John-style The Last Fight, which, in my opinion, is an amazing song, I Can't Get You Out Of My Head, which is a much lighter and prettier song than people expect of Slash and Co, and Gravedance, which isn't single material, because of it's style. But if I had to sum it up in few words it's say: Lack of Promotion.
  9. Just passed by nº9 Carnaby Street, in London, and picked up an exclusive edition of Hackney Diamonds on vinyl 🥲
  10. My favourite song is, without a doubt, Sweet Sound of Heaven. There are also other pretty strong tracks. Not a big fan of Tell Me Straight, though. Might be my own personal thing with Keith 😅
  11. My upcoming concerts now are: Elder on Nov 4th, 2023 Judas Priest on April 8th, 2024 Slash on April 29th, 2024 Tenacious D on May 15th, 2024
  12. You know what? I enjoyed this DSOTM Redux album. Money is utter shit, and the spoken word passages get old pretty quick, but some of it is really, really good. I haven't been too keen with Roger lately, he seems like he's going on a downward spiral of madness but this isn't so bad... He shouldn't have called it DSOTM Redux, though... he should have made it like... some kinda of re-interpretation, giving a clear message his objective isn't to replace or update the classic, but to make an alternative version to it based on his current style and visions. Oh, well.... It was a nice listen, nonetheless. Doesn't compare to the classic version but still good.
  13. I don't get it. Sebastian Bach explicitly mentioned the song had vocals. You guys are so desperate, chill. It's like every second without the song, you die a little and descend into madness or something.
  14. They just announced a concert here in Paris in late April 2024. Gonna buy tickets as soon as they go on sale.
  15. A version of Deadpool approved by GNR's legal team
  16. I'm seeing them for the first time next April, really excited!
  17. Let's say we continue to get these singles little by little, two at a time, like we've been getting, til we get like 10-12 singles. Would that be as satisfactory to GnR fans as if we got a whole new album, at once? Would you prefer an album, even if that meant more waiting?
  18. Trent probably only pays his musicians during tours. As NIN hasn't toured this year, maybe Robin didn't find a good gig while he's not on tour.
  19. I'd pay this to speak with an out-of-character Buckethead (with his face censored, idk) but, as much as I really like Robin, I wouldn't pay this to talk to anyone else from the GnR camp.
