The General/Monsters leak revitalized this forum quite a bit though.

Yesterday I realized GnR could call it a day any year now, and whenever that happens, these boards are gonna lose a lot of activity

I'm actually excited for Echo. Haven't watched What If Season 2. Season 1 was so bad, I don't feel like giving this a chance. Especially after reading the episode titles. EDIT: Echo was a let down. Kingpin was really cool throughout, the Daredevil cameo was really cool but the show itself was mostly BS, IMO.

The only CD leftover I often listen to is Going Down. I listened to Perhaps a lot when it came out, but not so much anymore. When The General and Monsters leaked, I listened to both quite a bjt, especially Monsters. Never liked Hard Skool, be it the leaked version or the Duff/Slash version. And I think Absurd is probably the worst GNR song ever.

I have a Rega Planar 1 Plus with an updated cartridge and a glass platter. Couldn’t recommend it more. Love it. And it already sounds great straight out of the box, I only upgraded it cause I’m easily manipulated by Youtube videos

As much as I loved Shin, I think this way better. Damn, this is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. Maybe the best.

Just got back from Godzilla Minus One. IMO, this was the best movie of the franchise. Amazing. I have never watched a Godzilla movie where I was so involved with the human characters and so hooked in the narrative. Godzilla is truly menacing and looks amazing. Love that the movie takes place in post WW2 Japan. Makes so much more sense. Man, this is easily a 9/10. Might be more.

The whole “General and Monsters is a single song” thing was one of the most outrageous and ridiculous “theories” I’ve ever seen on these forums. People kept saying that even after they heard the tracks. As for The General leak, it was pretty clear it was a version with Slash’s playing. I don’t know how anyone would expect something too different than that. Yes, the production sucks but it sucks at the same level as the previously released singles.

Nope. I just prefer The General to Riad, Scraped, TIL, Shotgun Blues, Get In The Ring, Right Next Door To Hell, Garden of Eden, Bad Apples and Anything Goes.

I can’t stand Anything Goes. It brings AFD’s listening experience down. I always skip it. The General is a completely different song, yes, and it’s made by a completely different band but I can compare them like if I were to say I prefer Maiden’s Hallowed Be Thy Name to Daft Punk’s Give Life Back To Music

My holy grail now is Seven. It probably won’t live up to expectations but I just wanna make a playlist with The General, Monsters (Soul Monster), Atlas Shrugged and Seven while I rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe.

It’s funny how this track has leaked for months now and, pretty much up until its release, people were excited, the overall feeling was “Its an okay song, but hell yeah we’re finally getting The General!” And then suddenly, it became an embarassing shitshow of a song that is worse than My World. The herd effect here is way too strong. All it takes is a few better known posters saying it’s shit for the dominoes to start falling and the whole boards suddenly think so too. I don’t think The General is anything to write home about, but it’s not that bad. I do have some issues with the sound, especialy the digital drums and the sitar effect in the rhythm guitar, but other than that, it’s just a solid track, IMO. Better than Riad and Scraped, for sure, better than a few cuts off UYI and better than Anything Goes, IMO.
