Not going to reply to any specific but if you have the vaccine you shouldn't worry about anyone elses business. If you have the vaccine and get it you almost certainly not going to have any serious symptoms if any at all.  Your chances of getting it are miniscule anyway. In the off chance you are vaccinated and still get it and worried about spreding to your loved ones, then your loved ones should get vaccinated.  Anyone that doesn't get vaccinated is accepting the risk and it is on them if they get really sick.  The vaccine is out there and easily obtainable for everyone that is worried about getting Covid. Everyone should respect eachothers choices on this.. It also isn't a politcal thing. I know plenty of people on both sides that haven't gotten the vaccine and plenty on both sides that have..

Some would contend that refusing to get vaccinated is not being respectful of others.

But to bring the topic back to GnR, I dread the inevitable ZZ Top cover coming our way.

Someone asked Meegan on IG yesterday if there would be new songs on this tour, to which she replied "top secret". Last month Fortus answered the same question with a "keep it a secret" emoji. So, either we're getting new songs, or these guys have embraced TB's sadism toward the fans.

It would probably be wiser of them if they didn’t respond at all, but I don’t read these responses to be anything more than deflections. They know if they say “no”, they’d kill all the buzz.

We’ve gotten Locomotive, Dead Horse, and a few others. I would expect them to sprinkle 1-2 older songs this summer, but nothing is guaranteed.

Not be that guy, I’m expecting Axl’s voice to be rough

Man hasn’t performed in 1.5 years, probably hasn’t practiced or done anything. It was already rough enough in 2020. I wouldn’t even be surprised at this point if he starts lip syncing, heavy backing tracks or lowers the key or something.

I don’t think any intelligent person is expecting otherwise. First shows are notoriously spotty.

Five hour drive but I'm going. My Daughter has never seen GnR and neither of us have ever been to Hershey park so I'm going up Friday and spending all day Saturday in the park before the show. Don't have tickets but I don't think that'll be a problem getting them through Stubhub or at the box office before they start. Wolfie at 7 so I'm thinking Guns from 815 to 11.

Skyrush is a fantastic coaster. Also recommend hitting up Troeg’s Brewery at some point.

For folks who are going, are you planning to wear a mask even though it’s not mandated?  Initially, I didn’t plan to since I am double vaxxed. However, with the rise in infections driven by the delta variant, even with the vaccinated, I am rethinking it.

I saw Foo Fighters maskless - and it was great - but I don’t want to get this virus.

Israel is pushing forward on a third shot even though CDC says it’s not necessary. I don’t know - curious what others will do

I’m not intending to. I’m fully vaccinated and not within a high risk group.

That said, people who want to mask up should absolutely do it without a second thought. Everyone’s circumstances are different, so if you feel more comfortable in a mask, go for it.

Well, Metallica's "By Request Tour" is basically that.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metallica_By_Request_Tour

Not the biggest Metallica fan, so the fact I recognized most of the songs from the set lists I looked up would indicate that the fans want to hear the hits.

I imagine if GnR did the same thing they’d be able to sell extra tickets to diehard fans who want to hear the super deep cuts. This is of course under the assumption that the vote is tied to a specific ticket.

Just changing the order of the set list would help. It takes away excitement when you know what song is up next like you're playing an album.

Actually freshening the set list might be too much to ask.

They should reserve 3 or 4 slots where the fans in attendance can vote for the song to play from a list of choices via an app that is location fenced.

Has any band done that before with an app?

Its a brilliant idea with the fencing, but curious if there’s a precedent.

I was just looking at the dates for the summer in North America and I see they’ve a show on September 16th and 18th. Could they have not had a show on the 17th which is the thirtieth anniversary of the UYI albums being released ? Surely it’s not that hard to remember when you released albums and schedule shows on those dates.

Actually, it is quite difficult when you’re booking a tour of this magnitude.

I think it’s fair to ding them on any number of issues, but to me that is so incredibly insignificant.

I've always wanted to go to Hersheypark. It's a six hour drive from upstate New York. The show looks to be selling decently. I still plan to wait til 30 minutes before the show and play around on Stubhub. As I told @RussTCB the only time this strategy didn't work for me was Paul McCartney in Buffalo probably eight or so years ago at our arena. The tickets didn't drop in price on Stubhub and the box office opened up seats at face value but they sold out while I was in line .

I think that it being a Saturday night, at a busy park/tour opener could lead to a good crowd but I'm still confident I will get good seats for below face value. Usually I'd settle for lawn but it's my Daughter's first Gn'R show so I'm hoping to snag decent seats below cost right before WVH hits the stage.

As someone who was lucky enough to see ten or so shows last tour,I just can't see myself dropping $100 plus a ticket when I don't know that it'll be much different from NITL.

Myself and a buddy waited on Hershey last time. We ended up buying great floor seats on Stubhub for well under face.

Unfortunately the “seller” was listing them on multiple sites and double sold them. When we went to scan in the tickets the already been scanned. We called up Sthbhub, got a full refund and were issued inferior seats for free, as most of the listings had ended. Ultimately after further complaining in the days that followed, stubhub issued me credit in the value of the original payment, meaning I essentially was paid to go. Not a bad deal!

With this being the second time they’re playing Hershey, prices will absolutely drop closer to 7/31. Your patience will be rewarded.

How close to the show date would this happen? Would like to save some money and get a better seat if possible.

Usually pretty close. What I would suggest is entering some radio contests right now and see what comes of them (you’d be surprised) and keep the Ticketmaster and Stubhub pages handy. I got my Charlotte front row ticket for $100 off face the week of the show.

November Rain has 1.6 billion YouTube views compared to 1.2 for SCOM. They won't be skipping that. Sometimes I forget that the hardcores are such a small part of the stadium crowd. I'd be surprised if there's more than a couple thousand at each show hoping for a song like Breakdown or Catcher.

Ya, guess you can loop NR on it. To be fair, NR is a great music video and SCOM is less interesting, so YouTube will skew in NR’s favor. On Spotify SCOM is showing almost double the amount of listens as NR.

I believe you are correct about there being only a minority of people hoping for a deep cut.

They cant get rid of civil war and a few  of the other must haves on the setlist but they could make them shorter and cut the amount of bloat on some of the songs (rq, civil war, kohd, nr).

Agree bad obsession would be good to see live.

They absolutely can cut some of those. The fact that they would rotate between Patience and Dont Cry is proof you don’t HAVE to play RQ, CW, KOHD. Plenty of bands don’t play every single hit they have, GnR chooses (for better or worse) to play almost every hit. There may be people who are slightly disappointed; but you can’t please everyone. IMO, WTTJ, SCOM and PC are the only untouchables.
