Yes and this brings us back to the fact why it is viewed as a cash grab by many, which, as great as it is to see Axl and Slash back together, does taint the whole thing quite a bit. It's sad when as a justification for Izzy and Steven not being there you have to bring up partnerships and legal crap, which is not what rock n roll is about. And if per their agreement any leaving member has to be bought out by the remaining members, then Axl/Slash/Duff don't have to "just forget THEY bought him out?" or be stingy about it, because that is what the all agreed would happen in the case any member leaves. And if one leaves, it should be possible for that person to come back, unless of course "they don't want to share the loot" and are in it only for the money, thus the accusation of this tour being a "cash grab".
So how about Izzy demanding an equal part of the loot? Is that rock n roll or a cash grab? You can't accuse the rest of doing a cash grab tour and pretend Izzy is all about rock n roll when he said himself he's not there because they didn't want to split the loot equally.

Some posters seem to make it their mission to fuck up every thread with their negativity. That's what bothers me. If I see a post by certain posters, I already know what it will say, because it's ALWAYS the same. It doesn't matter which thread it is. Always the same mantra: no new music, no Izzy, no Steven... It's just really offputting. I know you don't like it.
I guess that will never change though. It used to be that way with Slash fans. Now Slash is there and lo and behold, lots of posters who registered after the announcement of the return of Duff and Slash, are complaining in every thread about no Izzy, no Steven.
Me personally, I can't waste my time bitching about things I don't like all the time. (I only do it now and then ) Of course I don't have a problem with people who don't like this version of GNR or whatever, but I don't need them telling me that five times a day, so to speak. This is a thread about RIR, but it could be any thread, frankly, because it's always the same whining.
On topic then: I like that they do Rock in Rio. It's a huge event with a special meaning for GNR and the fans (I know, I know, RIR disaster, but yeah, 1991), so frankly I don't see anything wrong with that at all. Let's hope it all goes well and we'll be able to enjoy some nice proshot material

Does Tommy only speak about Axl?
Probably not. But we're only interested in Tommy when he talks about Axl.

Oh shoot, sorry. I only brought it up because someone said it wasn't recorded. And I thought you'd appreciate the screenshots. But that's all it is, them sitting there talking. It's long, & I don't have time to do all that. Besides, I don't want to be concerned about pissing somebody off or the legality of it all.
Peace
Thanks for doing so. I guess I was one of those that thought Axl was the only one in court, even if I didn't really think a lot about it. I don't know how that Axl video got out then and the rest didn't.
Now the question of the OP is answered, mods can close this thread and people can go bicker about who was the most unreliable in another thread (because, Jesus, what a messy thread again)

Sorry for being vague here.. I mean support by buying tickets to their shows and helping making these millionaires richer day after day.
I'm going because I want to. I'll enjoy myself. I'm not doing it for them. I always find that such an odd notion. (Something I've noticed before; not specifically talking about you.) Supporting them... Of course we do support them, but that's because we get something out of it ourselves, right? The moment I'm not enjoying it anymore, I won't be going to concerts or buying albums (LOL. Please, Axl, I want to be able to buy another album from GNR!!!) anymore. I'm not doing it to do them a favour.

Not sure what the NZ/Oz prices were, but these (along with Japan) are cheaper than what they were in the US. The lithos in the US were $50 and these have tended to come out to around $20-30 USD, max.

Del James saying in twitter he was spending Valentine's Day with Axl and Angus was so cringeworthy and surreal
Pretty sure he meant he spent Valentine's on tour with them, not with his girlfriend. The Melbourne show was on Valentine's Day. That's how I understood it anyway

A total waste of money that guy is.
Really, you are a personal trainer, and the guy who pays you a tour around the world sports a huge belly... I'm sorry but that's bad publicity for himself.
Total clown. All he does is being goofy with TB and scratch his balls 24/7.
I didn't even know he had a personal trainer with him. Who's he?

Did he really get the backstage pass from Alan Niven?
I want to know that too. What's Alan Niven doing there? All I've heard from him these past years is complaining about and mocking Axl.

I feel worse over the fact that once the adrenaline from seeing Axl and Slash actually together is gone, they'll come back down to earth and realize what they actually saw, heard and paid for. Unfortunately you can't get your money back on that one too
Yes, because there are so many fans that have been crying about wasting money to go see them this past year

Yeah maybe, but I just don't get why on another forum they claim to be fans but they rip him to pieces all the fucking time? Like, fuck off then, if you're just going to bitch about someone's appearance and make memes and shit. It's pathetic. I get that it happens anywhere on the internet, but it grinds my gears a little. Well, a lot, considering I posted. I just don't get it.
They are fans. They're just not happy and very frustrated with how things have turned out and how they're going now. In some ways, I think Axl's more important to them than to...um...us. At least I still enjoy him, so it makes sense to be here and follow him. If I didn't, I'd never read this forum again (or at least not the GNR section), just listen to the old records and ignore everything that's going on now. But even if they hate everything he's done in the past year or even in the past 25 years, they still follow him around and care enough to be on a GNR forum.
So either he's still really important to them, or they just enjoy each other's company a lot
Don't get worked up over it. Just be glad you're still enjoying it, and not spending your time on someone or something that's a huge disappointment to you.

Feel sorry for the people who went to this show if they happen to read this thread. They go to the show and have an awesome time, on a high about how great they were and then see all the negativity. What a buzzkill.
They shouldn't care. It's been much worse in previous years. You really had to look hard to find one positive poster. And whenever someone had actually seen the show live and said he'd enjoyed it, he was ridiculed for being a dumbass or Axl nutswinger

Ugh. And Im also watching Aerosmith in Madrid. Lol
In Paris the sun will go down later than Madrid Maybe you can compare with the Paris 1992 show, which was on June 6th. Lots of daylight there too.
I would assume GNR doesn't take the stage until 9PM or so though? Concerts don't tend to start as early as 8 PM. At least not in Belgium. I'm going June 24th, so it will be daylight for a big part of the show. I don't mind. I'm sure the sun will be under by the time PC hits.

Whenever I hear anything about Axl and Angus, I feel a bit torn. It's great he feels good, but I'd rather he'd be focusing on GNR solely. I want him to be working and writing stuff with GNR, not with Angus. I'm not an AC/DC fan. I'm a GNR fan. Slash is my favourite guitarist, not Angus.
But on the other hand, I'm also an Axl fan. If I had to choose between no recorded Axl or Axl/DC album, I'd go for the latter. But a GNR album would make me so much happier. Something is always better than nothing, but I'd choose one GNR album over five Axl/DC albums.

Thank you so much for the stream, @Gibbo! Great quality stream, and so steady. All your preparation certainly paid off. Thanks for doing this, I do hope you still had a great time at the show yourself, though

I just watched the first half of Coma, he must have had a lot on the ending bc there was none at the beginning. But that's good
The ending was very rough, I found. To me, it seemed like Axl was suffering and switching between high and low

Okay, that's your point of view then.
Does that mean we'll get people being disappointed if Izzy does show up as a guest some time in the future then, because he betrayed his principles?
