Honestly? From what I heard about the US I expected way more than 160 € for a FOS ticket!

US tickets seem to be much more expensive for some reason? I was pretty confident they wouldn't be able to fill a huge venue asking 150 EUR or more for a normal ticket though.

I'd say the "5 days later" sale is pretty average for tour announcements. At most it's usually only a week, and that goes for nearly every band regardless of the time of year. I agree that a big bucks tour like this getting announced during the Christmas season is annoying (I skipped out on buying AC/DC tickets last year at this time for the same reason), but it's not entirely uncommon either for Live Nation or whoever to bank on getting sales during the Christmas season.

Yes, true. It's only logical. You do the promo, announce it, it's in the newsoutlets and then the sale goes on. It wouldn't make sense to wait for weeks after the announcement. People will have forgotten by then.

Anyone buy tickets for more than 1 gig on the presale. Friend gave me his code after he bought 2 for London show and I was able to get 1 disabled ticket (via phonecall) and 2 more GA tickets for the show at Slane

Have the 2 GA tickets (for Slane) printed here at home and got the confirmation number for the disabled tickets so seems like went through alright even though thought were only able to get 4 (hope that's the case anyway)

I think it's four tickets you can buy per show. You'll be safe :)

  3. Going, together with @MB. Yay!

Since this is a festival, I'm curious as to what the other acts will be.

It's a very special date for me, because on June 24 1992, I was supposed to go to a GNR show in Ghent. It got canceled and I was devastated. Now I'll see GNR for the first time ever exactly 25 years later. Can't wait! Duff better not get sick this time :max:

David is spectacular isn't he? And so huge! This however, was so small! It took me by surprise.

    See adjacent text.

He is! The first time, we waited in line for four hours to see him, in summer. It was still worth it. I did book the second time I went to see him.

I've never been inside the Louvre. I should definitely do that one of these days/months/years. I've heard it's very small. I might be a bit underwhelmed. When I saw Raft of Medusa, it was tilted somewhat, because it didn't fit in the exhibition room. I seem to have a preference for HUGE art

With regard to modern art, it seldom amazes me. I'm a bit like Dazey, if I can do it, it's not art. Unless it's a really cleverly thought out thing that makes you think.

I don't get why these is one of the world's most expensive paintings:

Well, GNR charging double of the fucking rolling stones would be absolutely ridiculous.

I can't imagine it would be that expensive tbh. Werchter is a big venue. If you go to Rock Werchter, a 1 day ticket is 100 EUR, a ticket for all days is 236. I'm guessing 120 EUR will be enough. At least, I hope so!

I don't think people voting for Trump or any of the right wing candidates in Europe are less intelligent (although most researches show that most of them are uneducated and whenever I see them in talkshows they don't look like the sharpest tools in the shed.)

But it's mostly an anti establishment vote. Same thing with Brexit... the government was telling people to vote against it, and people don't trust politicians anymore, so they did the opposite.

Same thing in America now... people who haven't seen any chances in the last eight years, a lot of them have been out of work for years and are still struggling, and therefore don't trust the establishment anymore which Clinton was part of. So they vote for someone who is clearly not a politician and says all the things they want to hear. I'm sure the majority knows he's a piece of shit who is talking out of his ass, but they have been so disappointed by the establishment that they rather vote for a piece of shit than for a real politician.

Yeah, I think you're right. To call all Trump or Brexit voters dumb, fascist, racist or whatever, is a particularly dumb thing to do, and shows you haven't understood what this is about at all. I kind of hoped the Trump election would wake up people, but I'm afraid it will have to go too far until most truly wake up. Right now, they stay in their comfort zone, within their own little circle of people who confirm their beliefs, and insult everyone who dares to challenge them, or tries to make them think out of the box.

(Besides, less intelligent or uneducated people are citizens too. I find it ironic some people will pretend to defend the common man, the labourer, the immigrant; but when they go out to vote, say: Yeah, you're too dumb to vote, I don't take you seriously either way.)

    So this is happening in my country now;

Woohoo! This is so exciting!! But... um... having never been to a concert in Holland, what does this mean? You think they'll be in Rotterdam and Arnhem too? Could that be possible, you think, three dates? Or is it just promo for an Amsterdam concert?

And it isnt in line with the Belgian media who has heard from 'multiple sources' that they'll be playing Werchter festivalpark the 9th of June. (where AXL/DC played this year).

Dont really see them starting that late in Europe, as stadiums will be unavailable from the end of August.

Yeah, I agree with this. I don't think they'd start that late in Europe. Open air shows in Belgium are usually in May, June or (early?) July.

  9. There's over a month between Lisbon and Reading. More than enough time to go to Finland, Russia, Czech Republic, and whatever other countries that aren't in the list yet.

I'd find it odd too if someone was randomly making up dates and venues, but I've seen stranger things happen, so who knows? In a few days, we'll hopefully get official confirmation.
