Just thinking back to Mayhue's comments that GN'R has recorded a bunch of stuff and that a lot of it sounds like AFD, I actually think it would be really cool if they touched up some of the old Arkeen collaborations for proper releases. I want Bring it Back Home goddamnit.

I don't recall that, if that was true I believe it would have been talked about in the The General thread wouldn't it? I didn't see it posted there once if this was clips from it
I shared the video a few months ago but the channel that posted it has been removed.

Here is another recording of it from a bit deeper in that thread
Does that really sound like Atlas to you? I don't get it. To me it sounds like it could be a verse on The General or something (complete speculation lmao) it sounds sinister, not something that would be on Atlas, which has that happy same major key vibe as Catcher.
But it really could be anything, we sure aren't any closer to figuring it out now than we were a year before lol
There is convincing evidence that this was The General, no? Someone compared and overlayed it with the phone leak and it sounds very similar.

Unfortunately it's likely it won't have a cool intro like that or if it does it won't be a very long one. I do hope that the song as a whole is at least 6 minutes and some change.
I have always been under the impression that the The General played before CD shows was the instrumental of the entire song and not just an intro for it.

Where else is there to go from here? They’ve toured essentially the entire discography for the last 7 years, we got what Axl probably considers to be the best CDII songs, including legendary song The General on the way, nostalgia packages of both AFD and UYI, etc. It’s either retirement time or releasing a new album, and I doubt they’re going to work on new music. All things have to come to an end, and to be honest, I think it’s time to wrap things up, given the state of Axl’s voice and the rapidly declining sales.
Guns N' Roses will end when Axl dies. He would do Las Vegas residences bound to a wheelchair at the age of 85 before he retires the band. The fact is there is no incentive for any of the band to retire or go an a permanent hiatus. The money is too good, and so are the band dynamics if what we hear are true. They will simply go on a year or two break while Slash and Duff do their own stuff. This would also give them the time to write some new stuff if they are so inclined.

This is what is gonna happen no doubt, they aren't just gonna keep it relegated to side two of the other single lol.
The vinyl thing to me is clearly to drum up discussion and excitement about The General instead of it dropping it randomly digitally, while also making the physical vinyl copies of Perhaps have attention given to them as well
This is the most logical scenario.
If The General were exclusive to the record, they would have promoted it as such (like they did the record-exclusive tracks on the HS EP). Also, if we want to take Fernando at his word (lol), he did tell people on Reddit before the HS EP's release that the live tracks wouldn't be released digitally, but he wasn't so forthcoming when asked the same about The General (only writing 'perhaps').
While the site which is reporting that The General won't be released digitally is the same that correctly reported on Perhaps' delay, we should probably take timing into account. It is entirely possible that their source was aware of Perhaps as an imminent delayed release, but is not aware of releases further scheduled (e.g. a potential digital release of The General after the Perhaps vinyl release).

The biggest giveaway is the scream IMO. Starts at 2:27 in Eye On You and 2:46 in Hard Skool. Obviously it's got tons of effects on it, but I think it's the same.

Yeah, that seems like a dead ringer to me. i didn't catch it. Thanks!

Well, I interpret what Slash has said as it being far away. And then it seems like Axl is focused on the CD material. Furthermore, creating new music from scratch takes a long time with Axl, honestly, I don't really see it happening at all.
It's possible Axl has a bunch of lyrics written without any musical input yet, which Slash, Duff et al could contribute to for a properly new album.

The vocals parts (the "ayes") used on Hard Skool were taken from Eye On You, not from Nothing.
Apart from them sounding similar, are we even sure the vocal parts of Eye on You are confirmed to be the very same used on HS, or is that something we've just come to accept?

Rick claims to have that song with vocals. I don't believe him, because if he did, he would have leaked it by now.
Rick is an attention seeking wanker. I am inclined not to believe anything he says, but the dude can't keep his mouth shut, so who knows.

Just to be clear, the fake artwork for Atlas came from a different place. The Has it Leaked twitter account didn't use it or quote it. They didn't predict Perhaps (and The General) before though. Doesn't mean much IMO because I'd consider normal to have the first single in a more tight-lipped approach, but the other stuff may have plans not as secretive.
The 4chan/reddit 'leaks' containing the fake Atlas artwork also predicted Atlas for November. That prediction spread across the boards, Reddit and social media. Has it Leaked obviously reported a rumour of Atlas releasing in the same month after the 4chan/reddit stuff was already out and had spread. It is not impossible that they saw the earlier 4chan/reddit info or were tipped off by someone else who saw it.

The last music video I see by Chilis is The Drummer with 2.9 million views uploaded 10 months ago. Perhaps has a little under 2 million in 5 days. I’m going to assume in 10 months Perhaps will be doing a little better than 2.9
Right, but Black Summer, which the Chilis released last year, has upwards of 48 million views. Lux Æterna by Metallica has upwards of 19 million views in 8 months. GN'R will never likely meet those numbers, and Perhaps has fallen in its engagement quite sharply already.
Edit: Spotify has even sharper contrasts, with Black Summer at over 100 million plays and Lux Æterna at over 50 million. Hardskool by comparison has over 16 million. Granted, BS and LA were both released as part of promotional campaigns for albums, but they go to show how poor GNR is doing and just how much more they could do with proper marketing and work.

Personally, I believe all this nonsense stems back to the day Perhaps got postponed a week. Individuals with no time made fake photoshops of The General and for some reason found it hysterical, probably in part because we were all mad (myself included) at how the song was delayed a week. We should stop giving these trolls attention, even talking about it the way we are right now is giving them what they want.
The funniest thing about those guys who faked The General art/Apple Music links thought everyone fell for it and gave themselves a pat on the back like a bunch of men-children. In reality, most people were quick to discount their attempts.

2 million views on youtube in 5 days! Compared to the newest releases of e.g. Foo Fighters(1.2 in 2 months), Qotsa(980 k in 3 months),... it's doing really good!
Compared to other legacy acts like the Chili Peppers and Metallica though, GNR gets little.

The Twitter (yes, it's called Twitter. I don't care what that fucking dickless morn wants it to be called) profile does not focus on GNR or anything like that. I find hard to believe that it would claim that only based on the 4chan post. There are some other tweets where they actually check with their own sources about stuff that's being rumored about (see the Green Day post they made).
Of course, follow their own advice: "Don’t treat our tweets as fact."
It started on 4chan, but soon spread to Reddit, across the forums and social media... They could have heard about it through their own sources, but it is just as likely that this Twitter account or its source saw the rumour floating around and decided to mention it (potentially without knowing its origins on 4chan/reddit).

Perhaps was delayed for unknown reasons though. That isn't quite the same as "up in the air", but until we know the reason they suddenly decided to delay it, it could fit into the framework of the original rumor.
Agree about your other points though.
I see your point, but the 4chan post was made when we already knew that Perhaps had been delayed, so it wasn't hard to say it had been delayed or 'up in the air'. It was a fact at that point. What wasn't a fact was the allegation that there was "bad blood with the label and now Perhaps is up in the air."

That's assuming their source is 4chan lol.
My point is that the 4chan/reddit 'leak' gained a lot of traction. Many people have continued to mention Atlas for November as a result, despite there being no evidence. It may not be a coincidence that this Twitter account just so happens to mention the same release month as the original 4chan leak.

I think this is just a case of fake leaks run amok. It was that 4chan/reddit 'leak' that first suggested that Perhaps was pulled, that The General had a failed movie negotiation and that Atlas has a November release.
1) Perhaps wasn't pulled or up in the air.
2) There is no evidence that The General had a failed movie negotiation.
3) There is no evidence for an imminent release of Atlas Shrugged - unlike the info we had for Perhaps and The General leading up to the recent news. Likewise, if Atlas were to be released in November, it would make no sense not to include it on any LP alongside Perhaps/The General, unless they had more plans for new music this year. If that were the case, then it wouldn't make sense to schedule its release so soon after October's release.
Here's the alleged leak: https://boards.4channel.org/mu/thread/117759348/guns-n-roses-plans

I think the music video has helped substantially in pushing the song out there. There are vastly more reaction videos and media reviews with the music video than there were with either Absurd or HS previously. I hope they have a video in the works for The General.

I don't know what to do with myself now that The General is being released. Seriously though, the next few I would hope for would be Soul Monster, Seven, and Ides of March.

Absurd, HS and Perhaps have all had re-recordings done by Slash, Duff, Richard and (possibly) Melissa/Dizzy. We know for a fact that Absurd and Perhaps had Brain on the drums, and The General could potentially follow suit given it was partially written by Brain. In fact, the only track for which we don't have conclusive evidence for Brain playing on it is Hard Skool.
Given the re-recordings done without Frank being on the final product for at least two of the three releases, is it fair to say that Frank could have been relegated to a touring drummer? Why has he been skipped on re-recordings when Richard and (possibly) Melissa haven't? Is Brain GN'R's studio drummer?
Food for thought.
"The General" is officially delayed... but "The General" AND "Monsters" is (unofficially) out of the bag
