  1. I disagree. Slash loves creepy, unbridled horror shit. He may like Monsters, The General and even Absurd more than you think.
  2. Seems like a working title according to old interviews that just stuck. Maybe GNR knew the song became an urban legend and wanted fans to recognize what it was on the Perhaps vinyl.
  3. Feel better Melissa! Maybe she uploaded the leaks for us?
  4. The General does have some sitar. It’s not a lot but it’s there. Definitely what Richard was talking about.
  5. It does sound like Angel Down to to me, but I can believe 2004 still since it’s not like Axl had lost his voice from the 2001-2002 tours and could’ve had the 2006 rasp earlier.
  6. When do we think the mean bridge by Axl in Monsters was recorded? It sounds later than 2002 to me. Could it have been 2006?
  7. My personal opinion is that this is the finale of the CD era and possibly the end of new GNR music. At this point, we’ve basically heard CDII. CD (14 tracks) and Atlas, Perhaps, The General, Monster, Hard Skool, Absurd, OMG, Going Down, State of Grace, Nothing, makes 24. In a sense we have CDII. Other oddities like Seven likely exist still, but considering Slash and Richard are talking about a new-new album now, whether it happens or not, the focus is no longer on CDII tracks. I don’t really have faith in the band to make a new album either. We’ve gotten 5 songs from this lineup, 5 more than any of us expected. I think The General and Monsters is a great way to cap off the discography. It feels like the end to me.
  8. Yeah, fair. Although something like Prostitute would definitely have Melissa parts which they played the other night. I’m curious how easily this guy is able to adapt- are the songs just easy to do, or did he memorize all possible 40+ songs they could play? Although to be fair, the Melissa heavy songs probably only boils down to <10.
  9. I don’t think it was the band but it could’ve been someone close to the band who thought the delay was bullshit and disrespectful to the fans
  10. Does Melissa’s tech guy just know all the songs? Does he has a teleprompter of sorts? How does he know how to play the set and deep cuts they haven’t played in years like Yesterdays?
  11. For anyone who likes full albums, you know how having a sense of cohesion is. Since we’re getting a bunch of singles along with leaks, a lot of us are compiling our own CDII collection. I’m trying to order mine and wanted to see other opinions. 1.) Hard Skool 2.) ABSURD 3.) Perhaps 4.) Atlas Shrugged 5.) The General 6.) Monsters 7.) Going Down 8.) OMG 9.) State of Grace 10.) Nothing I think Hard Skool works as the best opener, being a commercial song with a ISE like bass start. Nothing works as the closer due to the mellow elevator like music.
  12. Agree. I think these are extremely good but no way in hell would the casuals care about this.
  13. I’m so happy with how these two songs sounded that I bought a ticket for the 11/1 LA show. Genuinely have so much excitement for this band because of this.
  14. Given your knowledge of music, if you feel so strongly about that then I’ll trust you. I didn’t know if it was Fortus possibly
  15. It could either be a bad rip or just that “distinct” NITL lineup sound we hear on Hard Skool. Either way, still gonna be blasting these all weekend.
  16. The more I listen to it the more I think it’s real. It’s so fucking good. Insanity. I can’t believe they didn’t want to release this.
  17. I was gonna say I really like these songs even if they’re fake lol. If it’s fake it’s convincing and this person has a future in music.
