I'm not sure why anyone is getting worked up.
First off Slash had already started recording before the GnR reunion. His band has waited as he has put off the album. They were overall supportive and knew he was concentrating on GnR. They have always said the album will come though. I don't think Slash should shove them and the plans they had to the side. The honorable thing would be to do the album as he promised.
Second I don't feel it means No GnR album. Slash being honorable and releasing this album that was put on hold for so long has no bearing. It also allows other band members to do things they may want for a while.
I also don't feel it's a sign of things not going good. In fact, I feel it is the opposite. They are now in a place where Axl can respect that Slash is gonna record that album and tour a bit and Slash understands Axl's need to do the Axl/DC thing. Way back then heads would have rolled.
I also feel other current GnR members may join Axl as ACDC has needs there.
They will still record a GnR album. I believe that.
Agree with you on people getting worked up.
Slash had committees that he needed to honor includung i would image contractual obligations.
People don't seem to understand these guys have been around the industry a long time and are no longer in there 20's signing deals on cocktail napkins.
All of this would have been discussed and planned in advance.
Its clear that the European tour was planned taking into account the commitments Slash had to honor and potentially future GNR plans or AC/DC for Axl.
After years of miscommunication and or not communicating at all, Axl and Slash seem to be on the same page and have developed a new understanding and respect.

There may have been an opportunity for Izzy to be part of a reunion but most of the information is secound hand or speculation.
What the band does, is its business and the business of those involved and it effects.
The people involved seem to have moved on and don't seem to have an issue with the outcome.
Why do some of you take it to heart when the only people that it effects is Axl, Slash, Duff, Dizzy, Richard, Frank, Melissa, Team Brazil, The Guns N Roses brand and Izzy himself.

Man, Izzy left in 1991, 25 years before the current tour kicked off. Slash left in 1996 = 20 years, Duff left in 1997 = 19 years.
You gotta hate Izzy for those 5 years he has on Slash....
Izzy left that band having sobered up. Surrounded by alcoholics and drug addicts, while you are trying to stay sober is a tough situation. Izzy played on through this, he didn’t leave them “without” a guitar player. He waited until a break in the tour and resigned in Aug, it wasn’t announced till Nov....
Talking about a band, you can’t really say “songwriting and being a founder member does not apply here” what is it you think you would be seeing on the stage if A) No one founded the band & B) They didn’t write any songs. Quiet gig...
Izzy is reliable enough in a touring situation to have done it while a junkie, homeless, dealing drugs and also while stone cold sober with a band that partied hard around him. “Hey Izzy ya want a line” while he’s at rehearsal.... He can survive touring, don’t worry.
This was a chance to be a band again, split the loot equally for the tour.... Izzy, Slash, Duff all back after 20+ years. But they are greedy fucks so they couldn’t split it evenly. There is no band mentality with guns. It’s every man for himself it seems. They probably don’t care about songs that are 30 years old and who wrote what part of what song. The fans care but I don’t know that the band (Axl) does.
Guns Could have done a Rolling Stones type of thing where Jagger fucks off and Keith plays 2 songs. It would have been cool to see Izzy and the band do 14 years & Dust N Bones on the

yes i would be fine
but not for the reasons you are imagining
the thing is that richard fortus playing an izzy song only adds insult to the injury
has it crossed your mind that if richard fortus had given way to izzy when slash and duff came back then maybe, just maybe, we would have a GNR reunion?
has it crossed your mind that if richard fortus had any sense of decency (and any appreciation for GNR whatsoever) he would have stepped off and given way to izzy?
do you remember that other member of axl solo band (not sure if it was bumblebucket or dj whatever) said that he didn't "wanna be the guy that prevents the reunion from happening?" or something along those lines?
have you listened to the countless people who told axl is real loyal to his friends and probably axl would never have the nerve to fire richard fortus? so, considering that, has it crossed your mind that maybe, just maybe, the only way for the GNR reunion to happen would be if richard fortus and frank ferrer had an act of grandeur by saying to axl something like "thanks a lot axl for the glorious decade-plus you allowed us to have we lived the dream but now its time for us to leave because we wont be and we cant be in the way of Guns n Roses"?
has that ever crossed your mind?
Has it ever crossed your mind that the people mentioned have moved on in life or accepted the current situation and are at piece with it.
Has it ever crossed your mind that forcing a group of individuals, some of whom still have unsolved issues and baggage, could make the situation and environment toxic.
In your mind you think all 5 members are going to get together one day and it will be like 1987 - 1992 again.
Thats not reality brother, and its not the fault of current members of the band
If it was meant to be, the original line up would be touring Europe in a few weeks.
That time has past.
Maybe you need to expect the situation, make piece with it or choose to support another band.

you have the producer telling you that axl wanted HIS vision on the album and he wanted to avoid any creative tension or confrontation
if you can NOT understand what that means then there is nothing i can do to help you!
Here you go again. For once can you step away and think objectively?.
You started of so well, then reverted back to the same closed mindedness.
Sean Bevan is giving us an outside perspective on his involvement with Guns N Roses and as a fan its great to get someone's insight that was actually involved.
If you notice all others people in this thread are taking the information provided by Mr Bevan and approaching it from a perspective of i did not know that, processing it, potentially looking at things differently then before.
Sitting her reading others people discussing their thoughts on information provided by Mr Bevan has been great as its objective and creating good talking points.
Please don't derail this as there are a number of threads you have stopped dead in there tracks, as you can not seem to stay objective on any matter in relation to the band.

Some fans need to chill out while some need to stop derailing threads.
I through this thread was about the differences between two individuals, but once again the same people bring up the past and bring the names of past members into a discussion and thread and we lose sight and direction.
It gets boring seeing the same people hijacking thread after thread repeating the same thing time and time again.
It gets to the point were these people are no longer objective when it comes to other people having a different opinion or seeing things differently.
Often when this happens the objective people opt out of the threads in what should be a balanced open mind discussion about Similarities between Axl and Michael Jackson the ends being dragged down to the level of childish behaviour.
The greatest Similarities between Axl and Michael Jackson is they both have the rock star factor and a form of charisma. I got to see MJ once live and just like Axl when you see him live on stage you are drawn to them like you have fallen under their spell or magic when they perform in front of you.

Mates is a rehearsal and storage facilitiey not a recording studio.
You hire the space for rehearsals.
Tour gear would have been stored onsite as Mates offers that as a service.
The band has just toured the world, they are due to tour again and the gear would need to be stored somewere.
Makes sense to store the gear at a location that alllows you to and were you intented to return in the future to rehearse for another tour.

Your delusional shit is getting sooo tiring.
Richard Fortus was playing that awful shit for his family and 20 other people, now he was hired to play Izzy Stradlin songs at full stadiums. You can cry or make up all the shit you want but the truth is, there are millions of people who love Izzy's songs (YCBM, Patience, Don't Cry and many more) and there's one person (who's sanity is at least questionable) who gives a shit about Pale Divine. Blame it on the world for being unfair or whatever you want but Izzy fn' Stradlin doesn't have to play for N'Sync or Rihanna to make a living because he wrote some of the most timeless Rn'R songs of all time.
I think you will find Izzy even played in front of friends or family with a band called Hollywood and in fact GNR in its early days played small venues in front of small numbers attending. Even Izzy had to start so were or do you think he picked up a guitar annd become Izzy the guys in GNR?.
What Izzy did in the past, his influance and as a song writer is now past history.
Like any form of history you can look back and relive that past. I do when I listen to appetite or lies albums.
But Izzy is not currently in the band playing guitar.
That should not lead us as fans to denigrate a current member of the band.
Each have thier own skills and contributed to the past and present.
I can understand why Richard is highly thought of as a guitar player and I appreciate as a fan his passion for playing and being in GNR. Richard explains in this rig rundown (from the 35min mark) the unquie partnership and styles he and Slash have to work on when playing live.
Given GNR is playing tours these days you can understand why Richards skill sets as a touring guitarist works for GNR.

Yeah, Because Better is superior to everything Izzy wrote and contributed to. You obviously know nothing about musicians..... Technically good guitar players do not always write great songs, whereas musicians write songs but might not be shredders. Your opinion is rubbish and proven to be by album sales alone. You need better drugs if you think Fortus has a place in GNR ahead of Izzy.
Fortus is in GNR and Izzy is currently not.
I can't understand some fans refusal to accept the reality of the situation.
It is what it is.
You either except that and get on with life until we hear officially what the future holds in terms of band members and plans.
Judging by the success of the tour and the fact band members seem to be happy playing with and touring together I don't see any changes to the band line up in the future.
All involved seem at piece with there own individual decisions as to being or not being involved in a reunion.
Izzy lots happy and healthy and at piece with life.

Do you people not think that the 2 people involved who are adults by the way could have possibly reconnected themselves?
If you read what some of you think, based on speculation and what other people claim to know, with all these outside influences and people getting involved these 2 guys would have had no hope in hell of reconnecting personally, playing together or touring together.
Slash makes it clear in the interview that he does not want to discuss or address his personal relationship with Axl because it's no ones business, its personal and private.
Maybe these guys being older, wiser and learning from thier past mistakes decided to let sleeping dogs lie.
What broke up axl and slash in the first place.
Lack of communication between them both.
Add to the fact both had other parties and people get involved to muddy the waters for their own self-interests.
You guys read way to much into these things and you just need to look at the body language of both Axl and Slash on stage and off the stage from social media posts.
Both Axl and Slash are comfortable around each other and as individuals seem happy.
That can only be achieved when the two people involved sort there problems out between themselves.

To rephrase my original post:
I do hope we get Guns information and releases but my hope for this band has been waning for years. I feel like Fernando is just hyping us up with “PR speak” and that there won’t be anything too drastically different next year besides more tour dates being added.
And if that's what the band's wants to do then that's up to them.
Why do some fans feel like the band needs to please and do what they (the fans) want?, when they want it and how they want it basically telling the band and management how to run their business etc.
The facts are in plan sight and some do not want or choose to ignore them.
Fact: 2 people have put their past issues behind them and have moved on
Fact: A reunion of 3 members of the original band has taken place
Fact: These 3 people and other people have toured the world successfully becoming the biggest touring act of 2017
Fact: The reunion and tour has been managed very will and successfully by them Brazil.
Fact: From the outside as a fan the people within the band and management team seem happy as individuals and as a traveling close group of people.
Why would the band and the management change something that is clearly working and is successful as the people involved seem happy and the outcome is allowing these people provide for their families and thier futures.
Some fans miss the point in all this.
It would have taken alot of personal courage for 2 people to put that past to bed with all the baggage that come with that past for what ever reasons and to move on.
Axl and Slash look at piece with the outcome.

Some very good points here and thanks for highlighting their absence from the roster. Sounds like thats likely the case.
Only thing to throw a wrench in that theory could be that Axl said CD would be three releases. So either he was only on the hook for two and as an artist planned three anyways (well, 4 with remix album) or the label just took Appetite for Democracy and called it a day? Maybe having spent three albums budget on CD alone?
I wonder if Axl had to buy the masters of the CD leftovers? Because thats often the case and giving them away to artist is only done as a good will gesture and I dont think Axl had much of that with the label.
So.. now Im realizing that our band doesnt even have distribution. Seriously cant get more Axl / TB then that.
You under estimate Axl and TB.
Between then they have been able to put the past behind them, create a successful reunion of 3 people and manage a world wide tour with no apparent issues including time keeping with out others getting involved to muddy the waters.
Give credit, were credit is due.

It puzzles me to think the same people believe the reasons behind no new music is because 3 mature and life experience individuals would be bickering like children as to who is the drummer of if they are part of the original line up or not.
These guys can and will record new music together…
Its more about the state of the music industry and when is the right time and who has control…
Any one notice apart from a booking agent, team brazil and individual tour promoters (worldwide) there is no mention of a record label associated with Guns N Rose or the tour?
Could it be that Guns N Roses (Axl as the owner of the brand) or in conjunction with the big 3 now have control over their catalogue and masters?
Could it be the owner and the other 2 members (Slash and Duff) be using the success of the tour to use as leverage the creative control and distribution of their own music (Art) as many other bands are doing in today’s music industry.
Listen to interviews by Billy Corgan and Shirley Manson (Garbage) as they give an insight into the workings of the record labels and how they operate these days.
Axl may have learnt from his past experiences with CD, interscope and Mr Lovine.

Exactly this.
But we've known it for a while: GNR is not a band. It was a band for only a few years, until Axl started the whole lawyer / contracts / corporate bullshit, which started while they were touring UYI I believe.
GNR is a b(r)and, one with the worst marketing possible, with the worst PR imaginable –in an era where PR is everything and technology is the nost powerful tool for excelling in that department for pretty much anyone–, the worst costumer care. Even as a fucking brand they suck at what they are and what is expected from them.
What is expected from them?.
They don't owe the fans anything.
I paid to see them preform live and they provided me and 60,000 other people with a 3 hour performance that provided a high level of service to the paying customers in attendance.
Do you think the fans have a right to tell the band members, the shareholders ( the big 3), the bands management and booking agent how they operate and run their business?.
You say they are not good and what they do, but the facts at the band is touring the world selling out shows and seems from the outside as a fan, the guys are having fun playing together and more importantly the relationship between Axl and Slash seems to be a very good one at least a working relationship as I am not privey to thier personal relationship.
These guys ( the big 3) are not in their 20s any more and like most people in life have employment contracts, shareholding arrangements or something in writing to protect themselves and their interests.
They have families and bills and taxes to pay just like the rest of us.
Some fans post as if what they are saying is fact as if they are part of the discussion making and have knowledge of the inworks of the band.
This is a big difference between an opinion and staring facts.
What the big 3 do or what guns n roses does in relation to their business affairs and who they conduct themselves has no effect on you, me or the fans.
Fans expect as some kind of right that the big 3 share all their personal and business affairs , reasons why best members are not in the band etc.
Its not or business to know people..
The only people it effects are the people who are directly involved - the business owners, it shareholders or the people who work for that business.
If business is bad then these people will be the ones effected both financially and personally..
-
I get people are unhappy.
I have been a fan of the band from 1988 when I saw guns n roses in a circus tent in Auckland as a 12-year-old.
I have seen them live twice in my home country and travelled the world to see the band 13 times as they don’t come to New Zealand as often as North or South America.
I was one of 60.000 people who saw the band in Auckland in February of this year.
People need to take a step back and look at things subjectively.
Axl is 55, He is not 23 anymore.
Axl is only human and his vocals are not going to be the same as when he was 23, in 2006 or 2012 as time passes over all of us
Its 2017, not the 80s or 90s
Curtain members of the past band are not part of the current band line for reasons we don’t know officially
Axl, Slash and Duff for whatever reasons are on stage together.
Axl and Slash have put there past issues behind them It’s their business how and why and the fact they have not spoken about it points to it being personal and an ongoing healing process for them both.
The tour across continents and many countries is operating with no issues in relation to the band – Axl even hits the stage on time these
There are signs all band members are getting on very well on tour and they seem to be all happy and enjoying the experience and playing together
The shows are attracting an average of 50,000 people attending
Guns n Roses were number 2 in worldwide gross and income from touring in 2016
All the above is drawing attention to one of the greatest bands, front man, guitarists and bass players.
This in an era of EDM music or the fact most people including the music industry think Imagine Dragons and twenty-one pilots is rock music.
We can all have opinions, but when people cloud their judgment to the point that what they are saying doesn’t make sense or based on emotion they don’t see things from the outside.
We did not think what we are getting would happen in this life time… did we…

Doubt they give a rats ass about Chester. Whatever is going on behind the scenes, we are never going to be privy to but I wouldn't be surprised if years later we found out that Axl and Slash never patched up and were simply going through the motions for the sake of the reunion cash bonanza.
Thats not what i saw at the show i was at.
Have you been to any live shows?
I saw slash and axl making eye contact and smile a number of times
I also saw Duff, Axl and Richard stand back and watch from the corner of the stage and admire Slash while he was playing a solo.
In relation to the cash grab..
Do you work for free or do you get paid so you can pay our bills, feed your famliy, pay your rent or morage...
Its their job and its how they make a living..
These guys are just like us. They need to provide for themselfs and there families...

Yep out come all the upset posters, who seem to think it's everyone else is to blame as there dreams and wishes did not come true.
Blame band members for selling out, blame the band for providing for their families and paying their morages, blame band management, blame Eddie, blame Frank etc.
Dont no way people take it personally as it does nit affect there life....
If it's so bad i.e axls vocals, the way the band is managed and promoted, future show and tour sales or the relationships of past or present members as it will only affect these people personally and financially.

I'm Happy with this band and I can't wait for tonight.
Hope that Tomorrow Morning all the haters here are gone. Too much people writing.
Agree 100%
A curtain group of posters don’t seem to want to move on..
2 individual members seem to have moved on and put the past behind them.
The people involved in these decisions (Axl, Slash, Duff, Steven and Izzy) are adults and can make their own decisions that affect them, their families or happiness in life.
These decisions have no bearing on my life or anyone else’s life.
There is a difference between an opinion as a fan, and a fan who believes band decisions, when to realise music, the way the drummer players, who should play rhythm guitar, how bad the band management is, of what band members post on social media as if this should affect them personally or their life.
It is what it is…
I look forward to reading posts of people let down by their own personal wishes or dreams of Izzy or Steve not being involved blaming Axl, team brazil, Duff and Slash not standing up for Steve, the other band members, Mellissa for jumping around too much on stage etc……

You are comparing apples and oranges
ACDC and Guns N Roses are two very different things.
You are trying to compare the past with the present.
None of us can go back a day, a month or a year and repeat or try to recreate the past,
Can you in your normal life go back in time and repeat exactly what you did last week, last year or
10 years ago?.
Axl is never going to sound exactly the same every time he performs vocally live.
If Axl starting lip syncing the vocals would be perfect every time he performed on stage.

Axl can do what he wants. He's an adult not a child, that needs to be told by other people how to sing, what songs to sing, how to prepare, what to eat, how to dress and how he is to act, to please the fans or any other person.
Like any normal person in life weather it be a family member, a boss, a work colleague of friend would any person (an adult) live in a world or day to day being told what to do and how to do it.

To most CD was a joke and they could care less if those songs are even played. Those sure aren't the songs that are selling out Stadiums all over the world.
As for Coma, Estranged and COMA.. They have played all those songs flawlessly in the past without her.. Dizzy can certainly do whatever she does..
You seem to miss the point.
It is not up to you or me or anyone else to tell an artist what their vision is or is not. It was his art and his vision.
The only person that was effected by IT would have been or could have been Axl himself from a creative point of view, the effect that vision had on the him personally and financially.
Over 32000 people attended a show last night and the comments about that show from the general fan here in New Zealand was not about RASP, the female with blue hair on the keyboards or that CD era songs are bad etc as people enjoyed the experience and the show.
I am not a Axl supporter just a fan for over 25 years who believes this is a good time to be a long time fan and supporter of GNR and rock music.
Axl and Slash have moved on sometimes i think some fans need to move on and look towards the future as things never stay the same.

Unfortunately its the same posters time and time again. They charge in without even thinking objectively and are so blinded by there own views, when it turns out they are the ones who misread the situation, turn and blame a group of people as band members or management. Its clear the post was about his personal life, his family and his personal highlights and for someone to be upset that he does not mention future GNR plans needs to pull there head in.
