  1. It's all (and the link to the Reddit comments) in the Women's Thread post.
  2. It's his stepfather. And according to the person who originally shared the pictures on Reddit, the car was a gift from Axl to his parents. It's not so weird if you think about it, because relationships are complicated. Axl said that up to a point he tried to make things work with his parents and be "accepted" by his stepfather.
  3. That wasn't a meet and greet. And he wouldn't be subpoenaed like that anyway, because he doesn't live in New York
  4. I didn't think I would ever say that (as I always liked long hair in guys), but I disagree. I think cutting his hair short was a good move (combined with the loss of weight in the last couple of years and recent wardrobe changes). His long-ish hair had ended up being a mess most of the time. He looks much better now.
  5. Don't Cry (original): The Ritz 1987. Out Ta Get Me: Philadelphia 1988.
  6. Chris Slade still praising Axl: https://blabbermouth.net/news/chris-slade-says-axl-rose-was-nothing-like-the-character-youve-heard-about-during-ac-dcs-2016-tour
  7. I'm not a law expert (and I'm not even American), but my understanding is that there are differences in the procedure/civil code depending on whether a case is filed in a federal court or a state court and then the procedure may also differ in each state. This lawsuit has been filed in New York state court and after having a look in other cases I've seen that civil cases in NY are not assigned to a judge right away, but only when they reach a stage when intervention from a judge is required (e.g. to rule on a motion filed by one of the parties). There are also may be unofficial talks between lawyers before the lawsuit is officially served, for example to see what the intentions of the other party are.
  8. No, I don't think it could be years, but it can be a few months. I suppose if a lot of time passes the court allows other ways for a lawsuit to be served, and if it still doesn't get served I guess it can rule in favour of the plaintiff.
  9. Yes, like @BucketEgg said, summons has not been served yet and the time window for the defendant in a lawsuit to file an answer or a motion starts after service. From what I understand, since Axl resides in another state and so he's outside "subpoena power", he can basically choose when he wants to be served, which will be when he officially appoints an attorney who will be served on his behalf (I assume he will appoint lawyers from New York). For example, in the Bob Dylan case the lawsuit was served about 4 months after it was filed (Dylan lives in California); and Steven Tyler has not been served either (the lawsuit against him was filed about 20 days before Axl's). For the same reason, Fernando has not been served for Kat's lawsuit (because I think he lives in Costa Rica).
  10. Interesting if it was in the early 90's. It would probably mean that at least the lyrics to Silkworms/Absurd go way back.
  11. That's really cool. I think it's the only picture from when they were rehearsing in Chicago in 1989. Axl, Duff and Steven with security guard Earl.
  12. HOOKERS & BLOW Announces First Annual “BLOWCHELLA” Festival in Downtown Las Vegas https://www.iconvsicon.com/2024/01/02/hookers-blow-announces-first-annual-blowchella-festival-in-downtown-las-vegas/
  13. From what Axl said about the story of the "pussy full of maggots" line, it seems that Silkworms/Absurd was not even written about a woman, but he just put that line in it because of something he saw on the Howard Stern show.
  14. Yeah, I thought that was hilarious, especially considering that years later Axl actually fronted AC/DC. I wonder if Slash remembered that dream he had
  15. I think what Axl's claim was regarding not wanting to change the sound (when Slash was still in the band) is that his problem with Slash's Snakepit material wasn't that it was too "traditional" per se, but that it just wasn't good enough because it didn't have the elements that had made AFD an album that, although it was also old school, it had managed to be relevant and contemporary in its time. And, additionally, Axl didn't believe that Gilby was the guy that could provide those elements - but it's a question why he thought Paul Tobias could be that guy (a potential answer is that Paul was someone who Axl could give directions to as well as someone he trusted and was to him something like an Izzy substitute). We don't know to what extent Axl's claims are true. But I think that this quote from Krys Baratto (one of the musicians Axl recruited to get work done while Duff and Matt were busy with the Neurotic Outsiders - the so called "shadow band" - who acted as a studio bass player between 1995-1997) supports Axl's claim that the demo/rehearsal tapes from 1995-96 sounded like classic GN'R: The people involved were plenty...Slash, Zack Wylde, I think Izzy. At that time the music was kinda of in the way of Illusions but changed many times as players came in from like Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails.... [Krys Baratto, personal communication, August 29, 2020]. So Krys Baratto says that at first the music GN'R was working on at that time was in the vein of UYI, but changed after the band transitioned to NuGnR and people from NIN and Pearl Jam were involved in 1997 (=Chris Vrenna and Dave Abbruzzese).
  16. Since the video featured members of the crew, family and entourage, they would be there, too. It's easy to blame everything that's wrong with GN'R on Beta and Fernando, but do you really think there would be any major changes if they were gone? Communication with fans would probably be better with a different management and maybe the merch (which I don't care about) would be better, too. But that's about it. It wouldn't bring more releases or better mixed songs, and Axl wouldn't suddenly sound better or start doing interviews. In short, it wouldn't change the way Axl does things.
  17. This is a civil case not a criminal case, so nothing so dramatic will happen. But you can dream on
  18. It's not true that Axl never showed up in rehearsals at that time. Based on what has been said, he sometimes would show up late at night, but he would be there. How productive he was at those rehearsals in terms of vocals is another story.
