A bit OTT for all we know it could be a translation issue on our part or just a mistake. Either way it’s hardly a serious illegal act, I don’t think anyone really cares whether a €15 vinyl is also made digital or not… if it was a €1500 limited edition then maybe, but it isn’t. It will inevitably find its way online unofficially pretty quickly anyway and my guess is it will eventually be made available via the normal platforms after a short while, unless it’s really not worth listening to and it is genuinely only B side quality material

The name Guns N Roses brings in the crowds. Slash brings in the crowds. The unpredictability of Axl brings in the crowds. As much as we all love the others, they just don’t have the same effect with the general public. I once saw Duff’s “Loaded” at a local venue to me in the UK, there must have been a hundred people there at most

Toxic or not, ultimately if they had good chemistry they’d probably have released more music than 1 album in nearly 20 years, and what they did release wouldn’t have been an overproduced sterile mess (as much as I do really like parts of CD)

You need to select the VPN region to somewhere far east presumably a country where it’s already past midnight. It’s on YouTube under “releases”, not on the main video list

It’s on Spotify, but for me it seems to know I’m connected to a VPN so is blocking access, but looks like it will probably be available “tonight” whatever location you’re in I listened to the YouTube version because I couldn’t wait

Unfortunately the nearest jukebox is 13k away, and I’d have to venture into Coventry to find it which is a worse fate than never hearing the song

Always felt the original leaked Hard School although it didn’t sound very “GNR” at least it had some interesting elements and had a bit of a menacing style. The released Hard Skool is OK but just felt a bit flat to me, it kinda felt like an imitation of classic GNR with the it’s so easy rip off bass intro, the copy & paste “hey, hey’s” and kind of generic guitar sound which doesn’t really fit with the harsh vocal style used by Axl on the song. And the school bell was corny as hell, as others have said. It’s part of the reason I am not bothered about genuine new material from the reunited band, I don’t think they can replicate what they had “back in the day” and anything they do will just sound like a cheap imitation of classic GNR. At least Absurd sounded like something different, just a shame the lyrics on the song are embarrassingly bad as the underlying music actually sounds pretty cool, but I can’t imagine slash writing a song like that. The other issue is I can’t believe Axl could record new vocals worth releasing but that’s another discussion entirely.

I just don’t believe there is the appetite (no pun intended) for new GNR music beyond the small cohort of super fans for a guerrilla marketing strategy to really make much sense If anything there has been a trend in recent years of major artists just dropping new music straight onto the main streaming services as a surprise release. That’s how most people are going to find it anyway, by logging onto to Spotify and seeing a new song. I think this has just been a balls up from the band/management/label not making their mind up properly, and in the uncertainty they’ve accidentally left a few back doors open

The vocals sound a lot clearer in the mix, it sounds really good from what I can pick out from the phone recording. I always liked Perhaps out of the leaks and hopefully the final mixing just elevates it. I can’t wait until it gets released properly, I think it could be a mainstay in my playlists as it really does sound like a proper “guns n roses” record, I could easily imagine it on UYI II for example

The dodgy link a few days ago was clearly unfinished, not intended for release - it didn’t work properly and was never actually shared by official sources Disappointing if we don’t hear anything but hardly a total calamity as some are making out. If the band’s social media were all over the announcement and the song never came, yeah that’s ridiculous but all that’s happened here is someone got wind early of something potentially happening which wasn’t actually announced and then didn’t end up materialising. Hopefully we’ll hear an official version of Perhaps at some point in the near future.

Is it definitely 11th August and not 8th November? Would be a very MyGnr thing to do getting hyped up for completely the wrong date

They’ve been touring pretty much non stop apart from the covid years since 2016, playing big stadiums too so it’s not a surprise demand is starting to fall, everyone has had the chance to see them fairly recently. As to why NA is struggling vs elsewhere well just looking at the tour dates 26 shows in NA scheduled this summer vs 16 in Europe and a bunch of those were festivals, and basically the same story last year too

Just back to my hotel in London, a great show yet again from guns n roses. 3 hours, full on, didn’t even stop for an encore, Axl said they aren’t going to waste any time so they just rolled straight into Don’t Cry I think it was. Axl fell over a couple of times early on, but kept going, he seemed like he was in a really good mood kept interacting with the crowd, making jokes, it makes a difference. The only downer as others have noted, the golden circle was too big so not paying the premium meant the view was poor especially as there was some kind of corporate stand right in the middle too, and for whatever reason the crowd was incredibly boring

The author of that article had clearly already decided to write a negative article weeks ago, it’s so full of hyperbole it’s almost comical. Maybe it’s for click bait, maybe he has some kind of personal agenda for whatever reason, but it’s a total trash. As for worst headliner ever, Arctic Monkeys on Friday were universally panned for being boring and shit, the overall reception to Guns N Roses was mixed to positive from most people who didn’t already have a bee in their bonnet, so not even close to being worst this weekend let alone of all time

Just felt surreal for me sitting at home with my dinner watching Guns N Roses storm onto my TV and absolutely nailing It’s So Easy, such an outrageous song, live on BBC presumably with millions of people at home wondering what had just hit them. So I’ve gone for that. But I have been humming along to Pretty Tied Up and Bad Obsession ever since too, great performances of both

Lana Del Rey 5 stars, incredible performance for the ages, should have been the main headliner! According to some parts of the media anyway, who conveniently ignore the fact half she pissed off the audience by being late - for an utterly pointless reason, and her set was cut by 8 songs! No doubt it would have been a pile on if Axl was even a few minutes late

It was noticeable on TV that towards the end it was thinning out around the back, and there were big gaps opening up behind the amps or whatever the structures were about half way back. Considering Guns aren’t really going to be the average Glasto festival goers scene, and they were following out-and-out pop acts, I don’t think it’s a huge negative that it wasn’t rammed full. To be honest it’s the millions of people watching at home on BBC which are a bigger deal, whether there was 100,000 or 70,000 or 50,000 in the actual field isn’t really that important

The article is getting panned in the comments on twitter, I don’t think most saw it that way at all. Overall there are some comments on Axl’s vocals and the poor mix but overall a lot more people saying it’s great than otherwise. Unfortunately guns are an easy target for hacks like this guy - most of them probably had decided what to write last week - except for having to scramble around at the last minute to delete the prewritten drivel about turning up late.
