Axl's always looked better with a beard, his short-haired look on the last tour would have looked better if complimented with some kind of facial hair.  Probably not the fu manchu since that look became iconic in the wrong ways, but I digress.

I've always assumed GNR didn't wear beards in their early days because they didn't fit the glam style of the time, and by the time Illusions came around they just chose their preference.

I really think axl should grow the porn tache again.

Haha - it's something that I thought I'd finally ask others their thoughts on!

In Duff's book doesn't he even talk about smelling awful because he didn't wash much? Even weirder when you consider that!

True. With heavy drinking or drug addicts the first thing that goes is ones personal hygeine.

The extended AFD cross is as disrespectful to their history as it may get....

    WTF are they thinking about?!?!?!

Yeah this isnt right. The cross should be left right alone.

To be fair, the 1994 pinball machine did the same thing. It edited the AFD cross to reflect the UYI lineup with Matt, Dizzy, and Gilby.

that being said, this new cross still coulda been better. They should’ve centered then horizontal part, and had two skulls on top and two skulls on bottom.

Does anyone have a photo of that cross lineup?.

I go to Axl's twitter sometimes. I ask him to get a date for GNR for Dallas Texas next year or the year after.

So far there's no GNR concert date. I guess they couldn't book the same venue. Anyway, I have gotten tweets back from Dee Snider and some other people, but never Axl.

He has replied to fans from one of the forum people here. I think the subject was about politics though.

That’s exactly what I thought of Blood in the Water. It’s like this album’s Dry County. Very similar in melody, so much so, you could almost sing chorus lines from Dry County to this song and they wouldn’t seem out of place.

The other song I really liked was Brothers In Arms, it feels like a Keep the Faith b-side. I could even forgive them for ripping off U2’s When Love Comes to Town in parts of it. I was impressed by how good Jon’s voice sounded in this one, it’s straight out of Keep the Faith era.

Beautiful Drug is kind of a by numbers Bon Jovi pop rock number, but one of the others I kinda liked on the album too. Nice guitar solo too.

    Unbroken wasn’t too bad either.

But the rest I found pretty forgettable, as it has this boring Imagine Dragons vibe washed over the songs, that I absolutely hate.

I really wish they took the entire album in the direction of Blood in the Water, it could’ve been a really good return to form

As it is, it’s a mostly meh album with a couple of good tracks.

I really feel JBJ needs to go back to the sound and songwritibg from keep the faith.

Drop the country stuff, and use that sort of music as a solo thing. With the way USA is at the moment im sure he could get into the same sort of songwriting like bruce springsteen. Write about where america is and songs about the working man. I dont know why he used BJ as a vehicle for the country stuff. He should have released that sort of music as a solo thing. Like the music he did for the young guns soundtrack.

Man a "The Dirt" style GnR biopic would be the coolest music movie ever ... It's unfortunate something like that will never be created ...

I agree. But wonder if tgey would shave the timr period of Axls DV incidents against erin and stephanie and the courtcase.

If they were to write a book dirt style the 94 to 96 period is what i want to read the most. Also the recording of the illusions albums would be great.

Yeah - I don't think their fanbase really want anything different from them really! They'd probably hate it if they tried anything different!

    Black In Black

    ACDC Live

They're basically the two albums you need in my view! I have Rock Or Bust too, because it was in the bargain bin, the CD cover was cool, and I was going to the tour.

Incredibly they've never released a Greatest Hits!

Id add HTH as well, at least for the Bon background. I dont know if the band ever would release a greatest hits, im surprised they havnt or gone on the record that its not a product they are interested in. In terms of a play list for a greatest hits it would be extremely difficult.

I'd say they are already Arena level really (taking aside the really strange choice to move back to stadiums after several Arena runs in the US of course). I can certainly see them doing Theatres.....but with incredibly high prices to soften the blow!

Agree. But then with the majority of the world economy tryjng to get back to normal the high price for theatre tickets could very much backfire with lack of attendance. I think people will see what the setlist is after the first or second show, and make up there minds very quickly!.

All this waiting with no concrete evidence (a snippet or something) is becoming tedious - and I have been one of the most positive folk on here. I still think we will get something but the wait is bloody excruciating.

Made 100x worse by the fact that AC/DC are clearly in promo mode and that 30-sec snippet just released has sent the fans into meltdown (sounds really good TBF).

    😤 FUCKING HELL!!!!

I think ACDC are really going to be promoting this majorly. They will be everywhere with this new release. Good on them. GNR could have released at least one single or a mini EP until we get an album. But nooooooooo..

The 'inflatable guitar and novelty bandana' casuals can say what they like though really. The only thing that will bring change is if the band stop making money.

    That could of course happen.

Or the band go from stadiums to arenas to theatres extremely quickly!.

Based on the small snippet it sounded good. I’m not a big AC/DC fan and prefer the stuff up to around ‘For Those....’ but it SOUNDS like AC/DC which is what you expect. And there is something reassuring about that these days. Again - based on 30 seconds of a YouTube video - production sounded a bit better than Rock Or Bust....

😭 GNR......get a grip and give us something FFS!

I was reading GNR facebook around the bands greatest hits and those that responded wernt very kind. Basically new music and rightfully so. Even the casuals have had enough.

Phil dug his own grave, and had legal / drug problems up the wazoo! Not to mention that he had become pretty erratic around the time of the rock or bust recording. As for Brian he could not have and should not have performed that 2016 tour after his hearing loss, but Angus and co should have taken him aside and said clearly "You are the singer of AC/DC, that isn't changing, but right now we have a tour that we need to finish" they handled it wrong, but that's obviously water under the bridge for Angus and Brian... I really don't think it was a "Fuck Brian, we'll get someone else" thing. I think it was simply the machine had temporarily lost a part and it needed to be temporarily replaced. If Axl was singing on this album and Brian was denied doing so, I'd say things were a lot more business than friendly! but almost every band is run like a business now, that's why when a band like Rush is out there and have agreements that it's all for one, one for all it's so unusual.

Im wondering if chris cant pick up the phone because he was just a contracted member?. Im sure with contracted players its like dont call us we'll call you. Im sure that will be the same with the other members in GNR.

Agree phil dug his own grave, hes lucky he hasnt been thrown in jail with a lengthy term. I do like chris, mainly because i like the razors edge album, and thunderstruck and money talks dominated the aussie charts when the album and those singles were released.

I wonder if this will be the final hurrah with ACDC.......

  12. Guns n roses sydney 93 ( skid row were support and i felt SR were the better band that day. They were just a more hungry band then gnr who looked like they were on autopilot.

VR sydney 05. Hands down almost one of the best shows ive seen.

    Nugnr 07 sydney

Slash solo each time he has toured 2010 to 2015 sydney

    Nitl sydney night1 2017.

Before the threeunion I saw Slash, Duff and Axl quite a few times in their different bands - could never class NewGnR as really seeing GN’R. Axl pissed me off in 2002 with the cancelled tour dates then and so I didn’t buy a ticket for the 2006 shows

The first member of GN’R I saw was Slash with his band Snakepit in 2000 at Sheffield Corporation Club. Best gig ever.

Then I saw VR few times (Can’t quite remember the dates) in Liverpool and Leeds.

    Duffs Loaded at some point

    Then Axl..

GN’R Birmingham Arena 2010 - I wasn’t expecting anything at all. I just wanted to go because I thought I shouldn’t go without ever seeing Axl at least. He sang amazing that night, completely blew me away, even though they played a lot of CD (which I don’t like) I loved every minute and was so glad I went. Also went to..

    Manchester Arena 2010

    Nottingham Arena 2012

Manchester Arena 2012 - half the crowd had left before Axl appeared

    Liverpool 2012

I missed out on seeing Izzy in 2012 because I couldn’t be bothered to drive to London, if I’d have known he would be there I would’ve walked

    NITL GN’R - London Stadium x 2 2017

Download Festival 2018 - was a lot of fun.

At least you got to see Izzy though :)

You saw Axl wearing the white shorts? Nice :D

The kilt must have also been worn durig these gigs?.

NITL is the same as UYI. Of course the band were younger and it’s classic Axl, but it’s still just the big 3.

Funny, during the old illusion lineup prior to izzy leaving the big3 to me was izzy, ax l and slash. Duff was never in the same league as the other 3. When izzy left i viewed it as just the big2, the only 2 that mattered then and now. Axl and slash.

Duff i still dont rate highly, just more financially cunning since being sober.

Since large tours may not resume til 2022 ,they may as well do it again for the 30th Anniversary of the tour.

It would have been good to see something official from GNR and post a video from this time period.

I know we have at least a few Crowes fans here. Has anyone else read Steve Gormans book? Being a massive Crowes fan, I started it on Monday and finished it tonight.

It's really, really good. Anyone else read it yet?

No but i absolutely need to. The robinson brothers always seemed in the early 90s when the band were getting succesful, of being into the  spirit of music. Hence getting kicked off the ZZ Top tour because they didnt beleive in music and sponsorship. The tour being sponsored by Miller back then. So im interested in hearing steves take on the brothers.

    But love the music!.

Yeah, that saddened me too as I'm an Oasis fan and always thought Noel had a brain. He's been banging the "I refuse to wear facemasks, why should I do it, they're an infringement on my civil liberty" drum. Sad to see really.

You're not missing much with Ian Brown! He had some solo albums after the Stone Roses, never really set the world on fire and range from average to very poor.

As you say, would be interesting to know what their roadies and crew make of those comments!

Could you imagine londoners saying a big fuck you during WW2 to the government and refusing to not turn their lights off when german bombers were bombing london?.
