Welcome to the Jungle was opened with in the 2006 tour, not much at all since, it's been chinese democracy or its so easy. Welcome to the jungle is the perfect opener to any set and should always be played first.

I remember they toured oz in 07 they opened with jungle.

They should(but wont) open with Perfect crime.

What a lot of people here don't seem to understand is that Guns have only been here once in the past 4/5 years. People will be desperate to see a live show, so I think they'll get at least 80% capacity. I will definitely go, because on top of it all, I've only seen them once. At the time, I knew the major hits and that was it, but they captivated me enough that I know their entire repertoire now. I'm 19. I want new music as much as the rest of you, but these guys may well be dead before I could see them the amount of times some of you have. NITL isn't perfect, but I can't exactly go see the Skin N Bones tour.

Good for you at your age your into the past catalogue. Most 19 year olds i know at work are mostly into hip hop. They are not rock fans by any stretch of the imagination.

Im always keen to know what sort of music young people are into and whether bands of GNRs stature register any interest, or whether they are the sort of band just boomers listen to.

That’s a horrid poster. Even I’m surprised they are using the AFD5 cross so pointedly.

And just to moan a bit more - I hate that new version of the AFD cross....it looks pish. 😤

I was surprised seeing it myself. I thought they may have used the bullet logo for marketing of the tour. But when they promoted the tour in Aus during 2017 the bullet logo was used heaps.

Totally agree, but in saying that, I believe this is the first major tour announcement since COVID hit Australia, so there’s a chance a hell of a lot of people are going to book tickets out of excitement and the thought of getting out to a gig again, even if it is a year away.

back in 2017 my daughter was 6 years old and I couldn’t take her, this time she will be nearly 11 and she is psyched!

Good for you. With 2 QLD dates, there really must be something extra for these shows. They cant be just relying on people not seeing live music for the past year and a half.

I guess it was still highly profitable anyway.  I’m leaning towards there being new material to promote by then.

If the majority were just casuals back in 2017 that wanted to hear the hits, those fans wont be seeing them this time. That bucket list has been covered. So ill be interested if maybe the band release at least a new song as part of 2021s tour.

Yeah.... who am I kidding,  I just booked hotels near the gigs for Adelaide and Melbourne, Sydney I can drive home from and I’ll think about the others later lol

Which Aussie shows are you gonna go to this time?

Sydney gig for sure, but ill defintely be seeing if any of the NA shows go ahead next year, what the setlist will be.

  7. I dont know why the band want to do a tour especially next year of europe, NA, oceania without a new album. It will be a "new" show, then once oceania finishes is the intention of releasing a new album and then planning another tour in the same countries through 2022/23?. Releasing a new album in early 2022 and putting the tour together will take alot of time that they may not be able to tour until mid to late 2022......

Yea adelaide is my home town gig... Last time was a great show i was up front.. I think i will give this one a miss, unless its the original 5... Or new album release before the gig, otherwise its gonna be same show plus maybe a few more UYI songs thrown in... Adelaide oval is great venue and should be a good show for the casual fans... But im at the stage where its "hardschool" or not interested in KOHD anymore...

IF the band do the US shows next year, we will get a good idea of the setlist ahead of time.

I'd rather see them tour with new music by/with the NITL line-up. AFD5 would be a dysfunctional group that would implode in a month.

I dont ever see an afd5 reunion not even for one show. Considering during NITL axl wouldnt allow steven play 2 songs, and only allowed 1 song for  him to play at one particular show, said it all. Axls feelings against steven wouldnt see any show happen.

jesus, its 2020 and dont tell me americans still think we have Kangaroos hopping down the main streets. I thought this was supposed common fact finished in the 80s.

I'm guessing he was making a joke about them being booked into venues too big for them,........

I don't think these tickets sales will tank like the US/Europe ones did though. They've only been to this part of the world once since NITL right?

correct. They toured NA 3 times, europe twice and down here once.

  11. Yep Aus tour cant wait!!!! The best news to wake up to. Tickets onsale next thursday.

    https://www.smh.com.au/culture/music/guns-n-roses-to-tour-australia-in-2021-20201118-p56fnu.html

The forthcoming Guns N’ Roses tour is due to kick-off on the Gold Coast on Saturday, November 6 at Metricon Stadium. The band will then perform at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday, November 9 before appearing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday, November 11.

Sydney marks the tour’s halfway point with a show at ANZ Stadium on Sunday, November 14. The band will then play at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday, November 16 followed by a final performance at Perth’s Optus Stadium on Wednesday, November 24.

Guns N’ Roses last performed in Australia in 2017 with their Not In This Lifetime tour. Each show drew crowds of 50,000 to 70,000 people, with the Melbourne performance making headlines after the rockers greeted the crowd as if they were in Sydney.

  12. Could you imagine going back in time, to say 87 and say to axl, in 23 years time you will have a 100.00 appetite cross as an ornament to put on your xmas tree?.

It beggers beleif that you cannot buy physical music or downloads apart from the greatest hits via their store, when most big bands have this.

I think the Tyler clip was pre reunion iirc. I think Tyler has spoken about it a few times though, kinda before during and after reunion speculation began.

But to me he always seems to suggest it wasnt creative differnces, not money, not women, but something "deeper."

    Hmmmm very interesting.

I wish they would get themselves back to Australia and start their PowerUp tour here. I mean with so few Covid-19 cases it makes sense. They can play here in Brisbane to 50 000 at Suncorp stadium and probably big crowds in most other states too. F*ck it, I'll call their manager right now... :D

It was cool to see Axl on the t.v last night for a few seconds, sharing the stage with the boys.

Yep id love to start their tour here, and who knows they might.!.

The band finally released Power Up and Angus has already confirmed potiental new albums.

I figured out a couple of scenarios based on his quotes.

    - The band will host a small Power Up Tour next year and will focus on the a new album after that

    - The band will skip a potential Power Up tour and will focus on a new album.

    - The Line-up remained the same for two albums, but Cliff already expressed his wish to retire after Power Up. As much as I want him to stay in the band, Mark Evans seems to be the most realistic replacement.

What are your predictions for AC/DC future?

Defintely number 1. They will tour this album when the rest of the world has got a hold of the covid situation. I think they will play the major capital cities in each state/country. They could do a 6 to 8 month tour and not 2 years. Forgo playing at festivals.

J think at this stage of acdcs career, the band dictate their terms to the record company in terms of  new albums and touring,  not the other way around.

I didn’t mention that either about Angus other than all his lead-rhythm stuff. This is really a great album from him in particular. A lot of the solos are instantly memorable and iconic, something that has been lacking by and large for quite some time. This is the most inspired guitar work from Angus since at least TRE, if not earlier.

The thing with Realize is it’s the first album opener since really Thunderstruck that really has a sense of urgency and energy to it. Hard As A Rock, Rock N’ Roll Train, and Rock Or Bust are all more back-beat, in the pocket rockers, the former of which also suffers from a mellow intro, and then Stiff Upper Lip is more of a bluesy song. Of those, only RNR Train and SUL work as openers (And the latter really only works because it sets the tone for that album). But Realize is really a throwback to the big, bombastic opening tracks of the 70’s and 80’s to me.

The one thing i love about realize is the background harmonies throughout the song. Who are doing them?.

    Soon is the word! (Sorry)

I’m on the couch with Jack Daniels in hand ready to watch it on 60 minutes.

These boys, in this actual band, know how to get out there and promote an album 👍

I thought it was a good and fun interview. I do have a confession, ive never seen them in concert. Sacreligous i know . If and when they tour here i will be absolutely getting a ticket.

  18. Actually wasnt there an occasion where i think it was part of the european tour , where axl and slash went to one of the grand prix's?. . Because as axl said both him and slash are gear heads?.

I can see slash going through the motions in 19 and 20. I personally think the relationship between axl and slash is very workman like but i think slash has mixed feelings about the lineup of the band, and for whatever reason seems like he cannot get into it. Maybe thats why he seems emotionless on stage.
