That's right but Cliff said that he only wants to do short tours now. They will have to hire Mark Evans if the band wants to continue the longer tours.

Yeah i dont see that happening as i beleive thrres bad blood between angus and mark. Around the fact when mark joined, mark wanted to be a pop star which wasnt want the other band members were interested in....who knows🤷‍♂️. But i think the band can do short tours and play in certain cities, and not 2 year tours anymore.

  2. Listened to angus being interviewed on an oz radio show yesterday, i dont think this will be the last release as the band apparently has shitloads of material left so will be interesting what happens in terms of future music. They will be touring once the covid situation is under control.

A Illusions Blu Ray with multiple shows would be awesome... The tour morphed quite a bit..

    Rock In Rio
Ritz show where they filmed YCBM
One of the pre-album shows like Wembley
One of the Bloated shows with Tracy, Roberta, Zig Zag and all that
    A Skin N' Bones show from 94
The last Argentina show before Slash split

That would be sick... First 3 still had Izzy too

Would defifently like to see one if the theatre shows.

Finally got to meet the great guitarist and Slash’s favourite member of the CD lineup. Nice guy. Very happy with his lot. What a musician, instrument collector and talent. The other interviewees asked interesting questions about guitar playing, instruments and other stuff. I agonised over what question would I like an answer. So, I asked him about recording with Roy Thomas Baker, only a day later to remember that RTB had left at the end of 2001. Fortus being a gent didn’t point that out but told me of a time he recorded with him in Denmark some time later. So, as many die hards already know Fortus did his guitar parts in a week. Presumably with Caram C in later 2002. Axl apparently recorded his vocals in a few weeks somewhere between 1998 and 2007. Perhaps that’s why the Zutaut leaks feature so many instrumentals that needed a lot of work to find their GNRmagic.

Another interfering thing was that he was unnerved about the Dublin gig in 2010 with the ominous crowd. I met Bumble in 2011 and he seemed to see it that way too. I remember that day there was a lot of youth drinking energy drinks and mixing alcohol since the morning, as the stuff was being handed out free. Guess it taxed their ability to tolerate Axl’s restate prima Donna behaviour!

He was the peace maker for the St. Louis gig last year.

Fortus has been busy with multi instrumentalist soundtracks.

GNR are wring new music as stated by Duff’s wife.

The band last played together in March.

    Fortus uses proTools.

He was an absolute Southern Gentleman and seemed pleased to be playing with Slash. Didn’t come across as a Bumble fan, but respected Bucket & Finck. Finck and Fortus could have handled the band in 2006. H/W Bumble was the approachable member to fans in my observations and found his own way into the band with the album and the promotion five year tour.

Well worth the €70 price of admission.

I got word of it in Reddit.

What do you mean by the peace maker for the st louis gig?.

I wonder how well the footage has 'aged.' Like if it came out back in the day like Metallica's road doc (2.5 yrs...) then fans would have the sentimentality of watching it back in the day, or when they first became fans. But if we just get a home video of young people getting drunk and telling knock knock jokes surrounded by poodle haired workers, would it really be that cool?

After Izzy is off the tour how much actual coolness is there? You got a struggling dude somewhere unseen with his new age spiritual advisor (Axl). You got an annoying money grubbing womanizer (Matt). Socially awkward people who are mostly in altered states (Slash, Duff, Dizzy). And their uncle (Gilby).

Footage of lavish parties with no band members in attendance?

More footage of Axl skipping down a hotel hallway?

I'll tell you what Id want. Is Saskatoon 93 and an Izzy Show, with the very best bits of the John doc sprinkled in.

And just dump the rest as bonus footage. Maybe commentary, something to bring it to where the fans are at today?

The other road related video was the pantera one released mid 90s ithink.......

Because a Guns record being released with original material from Slash and Axl for the first time in nearly 30 years will overshadow any AC/DC album. Axl is loyal to Angus and the AC/DC brand and would never do that especially since this album is a tribute to Angus’ brother.

This i completely understand. Which hopefully means anything new GNR will be alot of promotions invested by UMG. I just hope the wait will be wortth waiting for.

I feel the same, except I now fully believe there is no new album. They've beaten that one out of me.

As you say, they're out of moves now (barring getting Izzy and Steven back) and I can't see the business sense at all in still thinking they can charge sky high prices in massive venues. Perhaps people will and can pay it, I don't know. Whatever. I can't.

They seem to want to be a band aimed entirely at rich casual fans.

In my view I can understand the band tourinv and milking the fanbase from 2016 to 2019 under the NITL moniker. First time axl and slash are together in 27 years. I dont rate duffs presence all that much.

The band dont have a wide discography like the stones, where they could tour year after year, and charge the same prices like they did under NITL.

Even modifying the setlist and expecting fans tl still turnup would not generate ticket sales.

So if the band want to charge the same ticket prices they need to make it worthwhile for fans like us to attend. That is new music.

My theory (before covid, of course) was that the album would’ve been called 2020 and would've had the same artwork as all the 2020 tour posters (the skeleton with the armor and the shield that says “2020” on it).

Yeah i think this to, which would have meant we would have had a new album released if Covid didnt happen. The whatever release date would have been interesting.

    Sounds so good.

But then again, let's not get false hopes. If November ended and no album or even a single came out, don't expect anything until they start touring again.

Agree. Having a think about just calling the album GNR, had guns toured this year i think the tpur name was supposed to be under the moniker " guns n roses 2020 " or just 2020. Im starting to think had an album been released this year ithe album name would have been part of the tour name....

Personally ? I think it would be huge. Media would lose their shit and it would grow very big very soon. If youre a band with such anticipated release you dont really need to promote it (?). Like what I mean is promotion has already been done, with internet on it would go viral pretty quick.

    I agree.

I could see UMG putting posters everywhere in certain countries like they did  promoting NITL and just like ACDC have done.

Billboards up in LA along sunset , like that big billboard promoting NITL. I hope the promotion is massive.

    Just now, Alejandro GNR said:

I hope its called Guns n Roses...It would be somehow an official comeback.

Yeah kind of has a new phase of the band feel about just promoting as GNR.

It's clear Brian Johnson or the Young brothers couldn't come up with lyrics as good as those on Back In Black. Everytime Brian talks about Shoot To Thrill or Hells Bells, he always says he wrote them on the spot, to come up with those lyrics only one month after Bon's passing is miraculous to say the least. To say Brian wrote You Shook Me All Night Long because of the fast machine and motor clean lyrics is a lousy argument. Bon's lyrics were already finished before recordings. It makes sense they took his lyrics and made some arrangements.

If someone want to dispute this, show me in the Brian Johnson era any album that is consistently as good as Back In Black. Bon Scott knew how to write songs, he took the band to the next level and he never got credit for this album (or FTATR or TS).

I do remenber reading or hearing that Bons ex wife said as much. Bon had written all songs for the next album as the songs were in an exercise like book, so the album was basically written, until Bon got the go ahead from the young brothers that they  were ready to start on the album in the studio.

I have always wondered if Brian and the youngs wrote the songs of what was BIB, how the songwriting deteriorated to being a heatseeker and dont need a woman to hold me down.

I couldn't have said it better. Most casual listeners couldn't tell who's playing what on the album anyways, all they want or recognize is Axl.

To any casual fans who bought a copy of CD out of curiosity, and had no idea slash left they probably read or looked at the booklet to see if there were any slash photos and slash written lyrics.

The riff and lyric are a rip off of Maria Maria by Santana. A really, really bad rip off.

Sells water and clothing made in sweat shops, to subsidize this junk.

And I dunno, dose he live a life of luxury?

Well i thought he tries to advertise that going from the home in the video clip if that is his house.

Yeah if I didn't already know who was on it I would think that was an unreleased VR song.

Which gives me an idea: what if they did a VR reunion tour but with that kid singing? I would go see that.

The rythym section sounds very VR, just has that vibe. Really like the guitar solo outro. I hope the band has alot of potential and an album/ep eventuates.

I woukd really like slash to reform VR in some shape way or form. Even putting SMKC maybe on more of a hiatus.......

Angus hasn't looked great in photoshoots in a long time IMO. His face usually looks a little bloated and sort of over-processed to the point of looking artificial. I've always sort of mentally attached this with the youth image to do with the schoolboy outfit, I have no idea if that's actually why his photoshoot pictures look so over-polished. In reality Angus is still skinny as a twig, and he looks more his age and a lot more natural onstage. Personally don't think Angus has looked good in photoshoots since around The Razor's Edge.

I must admit i like the photo but dont know how photoshopped or digitally enhanced this is. Its a change from the rail thin, long hair balding look that he has looked previously. I always used to see him like this and wonder if he has health issues....

Yeah I think there is no shame in diving into the well of great ideas if they are there, A Different Kind of Truth was great in that sense.

I think that whatever type of act they want to be, active or purely nostalgia based, I just wish they would tell it like it is.  No more of this "we are trading ideas and hope to get something out" vague BS

I completely agree. I liked a different kind of truth, but hated roths vocals. His yelping style didnt suit the songs. With a GNR hybrid album i feel axls vocals studio wise would be better, so his vocals would be the least thing i would be critiquing as part a new album.

I feel the band know what they want to be, but it would be wirthwhile being honest with the fanbase. And i doubt they would lose any ticket sales or future revenue with just being a touring band if thats what they desire. Fans would take it or leave it.
