It's ditched because it doesn't open the show's anymore, like it opens the album ... C'mon dude -

I think it's incredibly arrogant to say what an artist thought was necessary for his album is "unnecessary" -

The Sean Beaven demo doesn't fit with the overall mood and feel of the finished tracks though. -

Those "long ass unnecessary" intros to those songs adds a lot of atmosphere and make both songs more than just simple rockers. Waiting for those guitar riffs to kick in and then Axl's wailing is a great experience, every time. -
I'm so excited and still in disbelief that we're actually getting The General, but there's something that kinda brings the high down for me, and that's that instead of it being a surprise, and the band themselves generating the hype for it, we find out that it's coming because it's listed as a B-side on the physical release of Perhaps. It just feels so underwhelming and such a bummer that this legendary song was just quietly announced and is going to be a B-side. Idk, like I said I'm thrilled we're finally getting it, I just hate the way we're getting it. I wish Axl actually still had the passion for this music he labored over for so long, instead of now just seemingly farting them out to give a little boost to new tours.

Any word on 2002 VMA rehearsal footage?
2020_Intensions replied to mikeman5150's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Idk why everybody always shits on the VMA '02 performance. I just recently watched it again and it was really good. Not only was the crowd totally into it, but the band was tight and sounded great. Axl opening Jungle was epic. Madagascar was amazing and such a bold statement song to play to millions watching. "I'm back bitch ... And I wont be told anymore ..." -
Yeah I know. Was just curious. I think it's glaringly apparent that new GnR music will never be marketable. They are forever in the "classic" category. Regardless what people here think, casuals aren't interested in new GnR music. Foo Fighters, Offspring, Evanescence, Linkin Park, these bands are still getting their new music heavily promoted on radio. ChiDem got no radio play, and we're seeing the same now with these singles. I don't care. But there's a lot of people here that seem to think GnR are going to take over the charts and become mainstream again.

Still have yet to hear this song on my local rock stations. Only heard Hardschool one time back when it released and that was after midnight. Meanwhile, that stupid Linkin Park song "Lost" (ironically also over 20 years old) that was released last year is STILL being played multiple times a day on 3 different stations. There's times where it's playing on 2 stations at the same time.

Have you heard it on MGK or MMR yet?

I like Bumble's solo, but overall not a fan of the updated version, can't even say when the last time I listened to it was, probably sometime in 2019. I love OMG. Always have. I think it's the most raw and energetic song from ChiDem. And it's a special song in that the lineup that wrote and recorded it only existed very briefly.

Oh okay. Regardless, he wouldn't say that if Axl didn't himself say that. I think Bach is a reliable source regarding Axl. He also said 4 albums of finished songs played over 6 hours. I totally forgot about that quote. If that's true, then doesn't that there confirm (Bach as source) that the third part of ChiDem was also finished? 3 albums + remix = 6 hours
