The no contracts/freelancer thing is VERY MUCH an American thing to avoid giving get benefits. Spot on comment though… she’d never throw these accusations out without proof, and lawyers would be hesitant to take this on considering it’s such a huge band. I think that’s part of her claim that she was kept as an “independent contractor/freelancer” - having had jobs like this, you aren’t entitled to any benefits unless you work **I think** 1250 hours in a year (in some states maybe less/more I’m not a labor lawyer) I’ve had gigs not schedule me in Dec at all because I’d hit that number and they’d owe me insurance the next calendar year. If I had to guess, only employees of Team Brazil directly and *maybe the band members got insurance and benefits through these companies.

Oh I agree with you. It really bothers me that some pricks are questioning this as it’s clear she has receipts. She’s pointing out specifics dates and instances going back 10yrs, plus mentioning emails and texts. I mean…. We’ll see I guess. Sucks that this happened, but it (SADLY) happens all the time.

There’s always someone who will defend Nando… I’m sure TB trolls are all over these threads.. thing is, people have been “joking” about him on various ways of being incompetent and “creepy”, women mostly, and while I am firm on making sure someone isn’t defamed publicly, it seems most of us aren’t at all surprised at this. that says a lot. Plus his attitude and general vibe towards fans has been, interesting to say the least. someone had said previously about how the RS statement seems like it only covered the copyright stuff at the sexual harassment stuff is the curve ball, after re-reading I somewhat agree. really curious to see how this all plays out. As a woman, in this industry no less, I believe her.

Ohhh I missed that - I thought all those properties were TB. ALSO… lol… izzy stayed away, perhaps (sorry can’t help myself there) because he SAW/KNEW the writing on the wall. Do you remember when he tried to take the credit away from Angie Warner after she won Manager of the Year (or touring hero of the year, whatever it was) at Pollstar? It’s SUCH a huge deal for women in the music industry. Dude is a misogynist through and through. Trying to take credit away from the ladies in their own camp. This isn’t even a little bit surprising. i have spent the past few decades in the music biz and have been around quite a few gnr shows (nu guns and all) - myself and other ladies all have personal experiences. Nando is very much a napoleon complex guy - about 5 feet 2 but thinks he’s a baller. I hope Kat takes him to the cleaners. I am absolutely shocked this wasn’t settled out of court. Legit can’t believe that Axl/Slash/Duff would be ok with this sort of shit.

Normally I’d say “get the man some quualudes” but since it’s Slash I won’t joke. Truthfully though, in college, I once took a quualude. It was one of the best and worst experiences of my life. The only way I can explain it is that your head doesn’t spin, but everything else around you does…

Good on yall for liking and ranking this stuff.. I’ve given it all quite a few listens but am somewhere between “meh” and “meh overproduced” on all of them. Basically the promoter just wants the guarantee + expenses covered. Any profit after that (if band goes into points, etc) is a bonus. Artist Guarantee + Show Expenses = Gross of Ticket sales (at least the hope is that the gross covers these too) that’s the most basic of concert promotion formula. Overall Show Gross has to be calculated in between various price levels which is how ticket prices get determined. Shit like VIP and Platinum LIFTS go straight to the artist, but the face value of the ticket goes into this show gross - once the guarantee and expenses are covered, the profit share between act and promoter is whatever was agreed to. and to add: the band 100000000% knows that like the damn rent, ticket prices are too damn high. Luckily there’s evil Ticketmaster and Live Nation to take the fall 🤗
